Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thursday, April 8th)

Hello all.....

I went to the dentist this morning and had the small filling put in my tooth.  This is the first time I've ever allowed a drill in my mouth without the benefit of novocaine.  Our coronavirus cases are so bad in the state I just wanted to get in and out of the office and was willing to feel minor pain.  I lucked out, the cavity was so shallow (thank you God we caught it early) and I didn't feel anything.  I pass my house on the way from the dentist to the grocery store so I stopped off at home to 'pay the water bill, lol' and then did the grocery shopping.

Bernie--Thank you for starting the thread.I can remember the good old dayys when minor fillings were done without novacaiine. It was surviveable and hope that it works well for you.

I turned on the Q and see that it is gardening.day. Last year when those floral spheres were so popular, they were also available at Amazon.

I didn't feel the best today and noticed my heart rate had been increasing. I checked my meds and noticed one was due for a refill--one that now requires a doctor to issue a new prescriptiion, I am starting to make a record of which meds requiire a new prescription.

Yes, the drug store calls to notify me that a new prescription is needed but it waits until the very last day or two. Gr-r-r-r!  The doctor may or may  not get the new prescrption sent before needed. In the case of this drug, I had to ration the pills until available.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thursday, April 8th)

Good Evening and thanks for getting us started, Bernie.  Glad you got the cavity taken care of without novocaine.  I have had novocaine-free dental work done a few times, and it wasn't a problem.  Of course, it is needed (by me at least) if there is heavy work to be done.

Hi Jean.  Sorry you were not feeling great and may need to wait for the medication you need.  Probably a good idea to keep those refill dates on your calendar just in case.

I won't lie, yesterday was rough for me.  Not so much the pain from the second COVID injection, but I was wiped out.  Kept taking nap after nap, but didn't feel up to doing much of anything.  Then, I discovered the right lens of my eyeglasses had popped out.  The way I discovered it, was that I decided to respond to an e-mail invitation, and couldn't make out the words on the computer.  I put in eyedrops, but nothing.  Then, I looked in my eyeglass case and found the lens.  No wonder I had trouble.  Anyway, I have no clue why that happened -- I didn't fall or drop my glasses or anything.  Fortunately, I still had my old pair to wear.

Today, I feel fine, and I decided to go to the eye doctor's office before doing my hospice deliveries.  I was told it was an easy fix.  Just took a few minutes, and now all is well.  Whew!  I also went to the grocery stores, and I was amazed there were so fewer people.  I guess peope were stocking up for Easter last week.

The TSV isn't calling my name, but I have seen some items in product review that are of interest.  But, I need to control my house spending, especially for decorations and kitchen stuff.

Waves to all of our posters.  Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda @LindaLatte   My dentist is funny.  I knew she was fully vaccinated when I went for the periodic exam/cleaning last month however she didn't talk about her experience.  Once I mentioned to her that I'd received my first Moderna shot, she let it rip and told me how the second shot laid her out.  I was laughing.  She said her arm reaction days later (after her first shot) was milder than mine and then told me every potential side effect you can get from Moderna, she had when she got the second shot.

She said that she waited too late into the side effects (she's hard headed like me and tried to ride them out) before she took anything.  She said that once I get home after getting the second shot, the minute I start feeling a side effect take a motrin (tylenol doesn't do anything for her either) and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.  She said her arm hurt a lot less the second time around so I guess that's something to look forward too Woman Very Happy
