Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thurs., Oct. 29th)

Well, time is sure zipping on by this month isn't it.  Not much going on here - no skunk sightings since Tuesday.  We had sunshine yesterday - it's been overcast on so many days I guess sunshine is worth reporting Woman Wink

How are you today?

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thurs., Oct. 29th)

Bernie--Thank you for starting the thread. No skunks is a good thing; getting rid of "Essence of  Pole  Kitty" requires a huge amount of tomato juiice or other home remedies. Yes, time is flying and it won't be long until some of us will be stuffing ourselves at Thanksgiving.

I worked today and will work tomorrow. I see the lanterns are the TSV. I first saw them on FB and pre-ordered them. Some of my most useful household and car items have been things like this sold as Christmas gifts. I have often wondered when an item like this is so useful why it isn't sold at other times during the year.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thurs., Oct. 29th)

Good evening ladies, hope all is well.

Bernie - Thank you for starting us today.  Glad no more skunk sightings. We have had a nice rain since yesterday, I would complain, but we do need it.  It is supposed to stop tomorrow and be nice for Saturday.  Saturday is our Trick or Treat and I had hoped it would be nice for the kids.  I am going to sit in our garage and hand out candy, of course masked and probably with gloves on.  I do feel bad for the kids this year.  I am curioius how much I will have left.  Whatever is left will go to the food bank.

Jean - Have a good day working tomorrow.  I was going to order the TSV, but with our new generator we should not need those.  We will see. Hope your don't need to use yours anytime soon.

Not much happening here, I have been trying to get my Christmas shopping done this week or by the end of next week.  This weekend is going to be a soup making weekend.

Hope everyone has a great evening.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thurs., Oct. 29th)

Good Afternoon/Evening and thanks for getting us started, Bernie.  Glad no more skunk encounters.  It is difficult to believe that October is nearly over.  When the virus started, I figured things would be better by now, but no such luck.  At least I didn't catch the virus.  DD said that she arranged for youngest DGS to get a COVID test, but so far he has no symptoms, thank goodness.

Hope you enjoy the lanterns, Jean.  I saw them presented at "midnight" (Q time),, and kept going back and forth about the purchase.  I do have a couple very nice lanterns plus a few nice flashlights.  So, I think that I will pass this time.  Glad you are getting plenty of work these days.

We could really use some of that rain, Susan.  I live in a retirement community, and we get zero Trick or Treaters.  The first couple of  years, I bought candy, but DH and I ended up eating it.  Good for you with the Christmas shopping.  I may buy myself a birthday or Christmas present from Lands End.  They are having a sale plus free shipping, and I have my eye on a terry "spa" robe.  I haven't had a terry robe in years, so it is tempting for me.  As far as I know, I will only be giving checks or gift cards for the various family birthdays (three in November and three in December) and Christmas gifts.  Not a lot of shopping to do.

I went to the three grocery stores today, and I had an OLLI British History class.  Then, I delivered hospice supplies.  The mailings I usually do on Thursday or Friday will not be ready until next Monday.

It is warmer today, but was only 36 degrees when I usually go for my walk, so I did a Leslie Sansone DVD instead.  Maybe tomorrow morning it will be warmer.

Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda
