Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thurs., Feb 4th)

If we have a thread already I didn't see it Woman Very Happy I did the grocery shopping this morning and to keep this thread somewhat fashion oriented I noticed alot of clearance clothing at the local Meijers.  I wish I could tell you what was on sale, lol, but I shop like a heat seeking missile.

We had sun today and it's now cloudy.  I think we're going to get slushy snow overnight and the temps are going to plummet - ice capades.

How are you today?

Bernie--Thank you for starting the thread. I've never thought of shopping for fashions in the context of a heat seeking missle but I do like targeted shopping. For that reason, I don't like shopping for fashions with other people. "Oh look! This would be great for you!" No, it wouldn't because it appeals to their tastes and not mine, or perhaps brand, price, etc.

I subbed today but don't know about tomorrow. All I know is that I am tired right now and tomorrow I am scheduled to get my second Moderna vaccination, which will be done at today's school. Time will tell. I'm watching the evening news right now.

He Everyone!

I keep checking Linea, Stan Herman, Basso and Anybody for some great clearance prices but I'm not having any luck with either my size or color that I prefer. I have worn the top to Stan Herman sweater lounge set every week. I'm glad I ordered two sets. I'm waiting for the taupe to go on sale because this top is cozy but not "hot". It also does not snag.

The Snow Joe battery snow blower caught my eye this morning. Our gas one is so old and now it's hard to find parts for any repairs. I thought this might make a good "emergency" equipment until we can get the big monster. I'm still searching the SnowJoe and QVC sites and comparing. I sure know how to have a good time.

I started working on our tax prep for the accountant yesterday. (again...a good time). I'm doing a section or a hour or two at a time and then move on to some domestic chore.

The Peiria storage cubes that were a Big Deal for the hubby closet. I'm thrilled with the blue damask print and the storage capacity.

Cold temp and cloudy today. More the same with snow in the next day or two. I do have to pick up a prescription but I'm not sure if that will be tomorrow or next week. I'm still trying to make a decision from Gem Day's temptation. I'm searching for my anniversary gift from combined years.

Stay warm & comfy.

[ Edited ]

Good Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Bernie.  I did my grocery shopping this morning, but the stores do not sell clothing.  Like you, I was very focused on getting in and out of the stores as soon as possible.

One man stood too close to me at the checkout, and ignored my suggesting that he move back.  But, fortunately a checkout person opened up a new lane and asked me to move.  I do not know if the man was being stubborn or had a hearing problem.  Maybe a bit of each.

I signed up with Lands End, and they send me e-mails virtually every day about a sale of some sort. I'm trying not to jump at more clothing that I simply do not need. I took a chance to drop off a bag of clothing in a drop box near one of the grocery stores.  (A bag of clothing that I had tried to donate to Vietnam Vets who didn't show up).  I'm not sure if it was really a good cause, but at least I was able to remove one bag from my Arizona room.

Today is my DGS' 21sth birthday, which is pretty amazing.  She has been having all sorts of health issues, and had a telemedicine call this morning.  They have arranged for her to spend up to a week in a hospital in DC to determine why she is having seizures next month.  They don't think it is epilepsy, but really want to find the cause.  Hopefully, it will help.

I had my British history course, and now I'm waiting to hear about my hospice "work".

Hi Jean and Fressa.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

P.S.  Our weather is great (for me) -- mostly sunny and highs in the low 70's.

Oh Jean @KonaKat  I didn't explain it well.  I was shopping like a heat seeking missile for the items on my list and ran by the fashion.  All I saw was clearance signs and I was not....to time for that today Woman Very Happy

Yesterday I saw a cute American West beaded necklace that was on sale.  I was thinking about it and when I went to check it out today it was gone - in both sizes.  It wasn't presented on TV so either a bunch of women saw it and bought it or the Q pulled it.  That was strange.

Fressa @Fressa  I have an Ariens snowblower that is huge.  It has 3 speeds forward and two speeds backwards and a headlight Woman Very Happy  My husband bought it 20 years ago and the thing works but it's almost too much for me.  I've been thinking of downsizing and so far have been able to handle snowfall with the polycarbonate shovel I bought from snow joe in 2018.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thurs., Feb 4th)

Birdmama--

We have mutliple pieces of snow removal equipment because we have so much driveway and patio to clear. We have the big gas snowblower that we keep repairing. It is a powerhouse but noisy. Then we have the shovel assortment. (depending on snow or ice and lighter weight ones for me fo rthe dogs)  I did purchase the SnowJoe power shovel when it first came out (there's a battery one now) for the patio when the shoveling got to be too much for me. That power shovel works great.

Having the space is nice but the maintainence is a challenge.
