Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time, Sunday, December 20th

How precious!

I found this - amazing!

The young are independent 7-10 days after leaving the nest. They also have a relatively long life span (the record for a wild sparrow is 23 years), although their typical lifespan in the wild is much shorter.

Here's pigeons:

A rock pigeon's lifespan is anywhere from 3–5 years in the wild to 15 years in captivity, though longer-lived specimens have been reported.

@FunkyHulaGirl

I read once 13 years for a sparrow in captivity.  I'd heard pigeons could live near 15 years.

Seeing as I'm basically on my own - no vets - I pray alot for guidance.  If it was not for the internet none of my kids would have ever made it.
