Shopaholics One Day at a Time, Friday, November 3

Good Morning/Afternoon!  It is nice here -- just a few clouds and in the 70's now.  It should reach the low 80's later.

I am back from my OLLI class (Native American genocide), and I'll be leaving for the gym soon.  I'll visit DH later and feed him dinner.  He was in pretty good shape yesterday -- smiling and awake, but he was leaning to one side.

I am concerned about Larry (another resident in his facility).  He kept falling and falling, but now spends most of his time in bed.  And, they have brought in a Hoyer lift for him.  So, now two of the residents need to be moved in and out of bed using a lift.  I heard from the hospice nurse (they are in the same hospice) that his wife has been sick for two weeks.  She doesn't visit that often, but I was surprised I had not seen her in a while.

My "caregiving" activities yesterday were very good -- nice group of ladies.

I believe my fire extinguisher has been recalled, but I'm having all sorts of trouble getting in touch with the company.  I'm sure they are overwhelmed by calls/e-mails, so this may need to wait until next week.

Hope everyone is having a nice day.  Please post if you have the chance.

Hugs,

Linda

Linda--Thank you for starting the thread. Your classes are great for keeping your mind sharp and they sound interesting. I'm glad that DH continues to be in good spirits when you see him. I'm sure your daily visits brighten his day.I am sorry about Larry as it sounds as if he is facing greater health issues.

meallen--Thanks for the great graphic. I know you are happy to get the grocery shopping out of the way before the weekend. The crafts store in the city has been promoting some great  specials.

I'm home early from work as the school was having an assembly at the end of the day and I wasn't required to attend. I turned on  the SG show when I got home. Tomorrow, I will be going to the city to get my nails done, have lunch with a friend and do some fill-in grocery shopping to tide me over. I'll be going to Seattle on Thursday of next week and returning on Wednesday of the following week so I don't need to stock up much. Now, to see what I missed on the SG show.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time, Friday, November 3

Hello, the weather was delightful - sunny and 50's.  I don't mind when it's cold.  When we have consecutive drippy droopy days, I miss the sun.

I worked 1/2 a day because I had a dentist appointment this afternoon.

It's performance review time at my company.  The review process changed several years ago.  We basically write a review based on goals and the leaders agree or disagree.  The employee self review is due middle of next week so I brought the laptop home and will get mine done this weekend.

There is no way I can do it during a normal workday.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.
