Hello all, I'm watching the snow fall outside of my office window right now. We're expecting enough to shovel - some say 4 to 8 inches, others say 6 to 10 inches. I think the rain from the warm front coming up from the south and running into cold air is going to make it hard to forecast. The Michigan electrical utilities have been criticized severely with reason from the storm we had over a week ago. We had residents without power in excess of a week in cold temps. I'm sure right now each utility company is dreading what it crossing the state right now.
My Home Depot order has been arriving piece-meal. So far I received the drill/driver, bit set and LED shop light. I think they only thing left is the low tech microwave.
I ordered a new hose caddy from Liberty Gardens from Menards yesterday and paid the $15 for same day delivery. I assembled it today and I think it's going to work so much better than that cr@ppy hosemobile that I had for years.
Now I need to order the rubber Briggs and Stratton hoses from Amazon. I bought some lighweight vinyl hoses last year and lemme tell you - there wasn't a single time that I used that hose where I didn't say a cuss word. Sure a rubber hose is heavy however I now have a cart that will accommodate it.
How are you today?

Birdmama---I like the looks of that hose reel---sturdy and good size wheels to roll over ground and not bend with the weight of the hose.
I don't know why utility companies are always surprised by the weather problems but it does seem to be state wide. That's one of the main reason I order some of those "survivor meals" "just in case". I figure we can build a fire in the fireplace and I can boil water in a pot and make a one pot meal. Since we have an older house our fireplace has some width and height to accomodate that if needed.
I'm still having a problem receiving the tax email and info. Not sure what is wrong. I play around with it each day but still no luck. Tomorrow is my deadline day to get it handled one way or another. I'm going to set up the installation features and see if we missed something there. TAXES----UGH!!!!
Mary Beth was on for Leah this morning. She said Leah was on vacation. You don't see MaryBeth that often but I think they use her for training the new hosts most of the time.
My hubby's friend from work had some trees that came down from the storn. He was sending us pictures. They look similar to the last round that we went thru. He's already being bounced between insurance companies between the outside and house damage.
I have all the Christmas trees, etc. packed and stored. YIPPEE! I must be making better progress than I thought because I have empty storage tubs. I have a long way to go with that room but I was happy that I could see progress.
Have a good afternoon/evening.

@Fressa For years I had this funky hosemobile
My biggest gripe was the perpetual leaking where the hose connects to the hosemobile. It was hard to roll around and frankly and overall PITA.
The new one was $119 but then Menards put it on sale for $112 and of course there's the 11% rebate check (for in store use) if you remember to mail it in - I mailed mine today, lol.
Having 4 tires makes a big difference - it rolls so smooth. I won't know how water tight the seal is (brass couplings) until I hook my rubber hose to it and fire it up.

Good Evening! Hope the snow storm doesn't cause power outages in your area, Bernie. That looks like a nice hose caddy you purchased.
Sorry you are still having issues with your tax emails, etc., Fressa. Glad your Christmas trees are packed away. Good idea to have meals on hand just in case of bad weather/outages.
It was mostly sunny and warmer today, but still a bit windy and cooler than I would like. It was only 28 when I got up, but it made it up to 60 degrees. They are predicting highs in the 70's starting tomorrow. Hope that is true. I saw that the Tucson area has had more snow than Philadelphia and Washington, DC this year -- that is crazy.
The hospice supplies were finally ready late this morning, and I delivered them along with birthday cards for a couple of patients. One is the lady I will be visiting on Monday. She seems quite nice.
Our bookclub was good this afternoon, and I will try to write up the notes later this evening or tomorrow afternoon.
I watched the "Top Gun Maverick" movie on DVD from the library yesterday, and I really enjoyed it. Not much of a fan of those types of movies, but it was good.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda

Good evening ladies, hope all is well.
Bernie - Thank you for starting us tonight. Sorry about the snow, we have rain and wind The wind hasn't been too bad yet, but it is supposed to get windier. I like the hose caddy, wish I had it at the old house.
Fressa - Sorry about the tax information being late. Glad you got the Christmas stuff packed up. And you also have empty bins, that is a win-win.
Linda - What book are you reading? I am reading The Girl from Berlin, by Ronald Balson, so far it is pretty good.
We are getting new windows next weeks, and I am down with Covid now. Hopefully I will be over it by next week. I was talking to my doctor today and he said it should be okay for them in the house.
Well, off to watch some TV. Hope everyone has a great evening.

Birdmama---We had one similar to that but in green. Geez....it was as heavy as an elephant to move around. Then some years after QVC had those self winding hose reels on wheels. I got one for the garage. The next year they had the "improved" model that rinsed itself as it was winding the hose. I got that for the back patio yard. They are really old now but still work (somewhat) I know part of the problem is our length of hoses we have in them but we need the reach for the main areas.
I always like to have a backup plan for when something is about to go. I keep checking out the "new" hoses that are out there but nothing seems to get the marjority of good reviews. UGH!! I was hoping the "no kink" slinky style hose would be the answer but so far the reviews are still mixed.
Glad you found one that finally has all wheels. What a difference it makes.

Good Morning/Afternoon! Hope none of you had any damage from the storms last night. Both DD and Jean said the storms were terrible in their areas, but no damage to their homes. It was cool (low 30's) when I got up today, but it is sunny and supposed to make it to the 70's today.
Sorry you have COVID, Susan. I just started "A Castle in Brooklyn" by Shirley Russak Wachtel. Hope I enjoy it.
Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Glenda, Desert Lily, and all of our posters and readers.
My hospice patient called to cancel my visit this afternoon since she isn't feeling well, but then called back to ask me to come for one hour rather than two. Her caregiver told her that she thought the visit would help.
I'm doing laundry and getting things ready for my weekly financial review. So far, no fashions shown here have tempted me. I remembered that Leah Williams' birthday was around this time, so perhaps that is why she is on vacation. I didn't see Mary Beth yesterday, but I saw a little of Pat today. I like both Mary Beth and Pat, and actually met Mary Beth when the Q did one of the 50/50 tours (they did one in 1995 and the other in 1997.) A friend and I went to one in Baltimore and another in Washington, DC. We also met Rick, Steve Bryant, and others I can't remember.
Hope everyone has a nice Saturday and sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda

The snow (I would call it slush) fell at a pretty good clip yesterday. I shoveled at 6:30 in the evening and then again this morning. It was heavy but I paced myself and got it done. I have no aches and pains from it so that's a blessing. I also didn't lose power.
