Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Friday, July 15th)

Hi Everyone!

It's hot, humid and sunny today. UGH!!! I really am a winter person. LOL I have got to get myself to the bank and grocery store today. This week has just been rough with my migraines and other issues. On the up side----the work room decluttering is coming along.

Thank you to all who voted for vinyl siding. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know. I was surprised that there were so many options and my head was just swimming with what to pick for the $$. Now ..picking a color with be the next thing. I also have to find a company. We currently have white but I'm thinking that a latte color would blend better with the brick and the white gutters and  porch. The brick is a custom color that looks like a mix of terra cotta, brown and red. It's pretty. I guess price will determine most everything.

HSN has CIJ today. Mr.Christmas has quite a few products in the inventory. I have more than enough and need to downsize what I'm keeping.

It was nice to see the sale fashion show with Leah today. I'm trying to resist the TSV . Those Ryka's look similar to the Sketchers and I like the extra goring on the side top. I'm not buying but just lookiing.

We've been having some strong rain during the nights this week. ****** seems that every time I have iris ready to bloom it rains and the blooms are gone.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Friday, July 15th)

Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.

Bernie -Thank you for the birthday wish, love the cake!  I now am in the next age brackett on surveys.

Fressa - Sorry to hear the weather is not cooperating with your iris, hopefully you will get to see at least one bloom.  We had vinyl siding on the old house and on the sides and back of the new one.  Vinyl just need pressured washed every so oftern, on sides there in sun will get green.  I don't know what your financial way is, but, don't let price alone pick the color.  Be sure you pick on you really love, you will be looking at it for quite a while.    I hope you enjoy the new siding.  Are they able to do it quickly, or do you have a long wait for them to start.  Around here there is long wait times because a lot of the businesses are short on help.

Not much happening around here, just washing clothes and going out for supper tonight.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Friday, July 15th)

Good Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Bernie -- nice looking cake for Susan.

Hope you find siding you like at a reasonable price, Fressa.  Also hope that the work can be done sooner rather than later when you are ready.  Sorry your weather isn't nice.  I love iris -- hope the rains will give them a break.

Happy Birthday, Susan.  Hope you have a very nice dinner tonight.

Glad you enjoyed the movie, Glenda.  Good luck with your PT, etc.

My hospice visit was pretty strange.  I showed up a bit early, and rang the doorbell twice -- no answer.  And, the the door was locked.  I called the hospice office, and the director told me that the nurse would call me back since the key was supposed to be under the mat (it wasn't).  The nurse called and told me that they had provided the wrong address -- the house was on the next street.  There was a note on the door tsaying that the door was open, and that the patient would probably be asleep.  But, his suitcase, etc. was ready to go.  I went into the house -- almost no lights, and all the blinds were drawn tight. I finally found a light in the kitchen that I could turn on.   The bedroom doors were shut, and I tried both to find the patient's room.  He was sleeping, but it was so dark that I couldn't tell anything else about him -- just his breathing.  Anyway, the nurse showed up a little earlier than expected, and he went in and talked to the patient.  The nurse told me that there was never much light in the house.

While I was there, the mattress store called, and they are supposed to be coming early tomorrow to take away the old frame and headboard and assemble the new one.  Later, the crew will take away the old mattress and box springs, and bring in the new mattress.  Can't believe this is happening so quickly.  Sure glad I went ahead and purchased some sheets.

In other news, I received an email from the senior lunch program director saying that another volunteer (we were standing fairly close on Tuesday) was diagnosed with COVID.  I was wearing a mask, but she was not.  Since i had some COVID test kits, I checked, and no COVID.  I don't have any symptoms, thank goodness.  I am glad that I wore a mask.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Have a nice evening and sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Friday, July 15th)

They've come a long way with vinyl siding @Fressa   They can really get a faux wood grain that looks good, depending on who manufactures it.  My house was the builder's demo when the neighborhood was new.  Like, the city wasn't the city yet and the post office didn't deliver here yet, kind of new.

I had the shade of the brick.  It's not white, it's not gray.  I have white siding and blue shutters right now.  I was thinking of going with a color for the siding and I would have to look at samples/swatches to find a color that does something for the brick color I have.

Aww Linda @LindaLatte   I was overcome with sadness when I read the description of the hospice patient alone in a dark house.

I hope the new bed exceeds your expectations. Glad that you still wear a mask.

They slapped the Kenmore gas dryer igniter on the back of a turtle and it finally arrived today.  Took me 30 minutes to install the igniter and reattach the blower cover.  I have glow and I have flame - the dryer is working and the best part is I fixed it for under $60 Woman Happy

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Friday, July 15th)

Bird Mama, beautiful birthday cake.

Fressa, we chose beige vinyl siding, chocolate brown shutters and a darker brown roof.   Almost 27 years later, it still looks nice and is easy to clean once or twice a year.  Choose a color that you are happy with. I am with you.  If I could spend the whole summer in AK, I would.

Susan, I went to bed at 9:00 last night, got up at 4:00 a.m. & posted you a happy birthday message.  I just realized that I posted on yesterday's shopoholics  message.  Then I went back to bed until 7:00.

Linda L, I am sorry that you had trouble getting into your hospice patients home. That's too bad about the lunch time worker tested positive for Covid.

It's been raining all morning, but we were able to enjoy our customer appreciation day at our bank.  It's been a long time since I have tasted a good brat cooked on a grill.

It's in the upper 60's which I am enjoying.  It's going to be in the 80's-90's on Sunday and maybe the rest of the month. Gosh!  I hope not.

Gas prices went down 10¢ yesterday so it's $4.29 a gal., Milk is $3.00 a Gal, butter is $2.49 a # & the dark red cherries are $2.99# & are to die for.

I am in the donut loop for one of my rx's so it went from $126 for 90 tablets to $455.  I will get it but not for another month or so. It saves my life, so I am thankful for that rx.

Getting ready to go out for a fish fry with our eldest dgs and his Dad.

I am looking forward to getting my infusion on Monday & the  extra energy they give me.

Hugs to all of you.
