Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Friday, April 4th)

Hi Everyone!

LindaLatte---Thanks for the update on Jean.I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Good to hear that your walks are more to your liking

Our weather is still cloudy and cool-cold. The forecast only has a few days in the next two weeks that have a 60 temp day. UGH!!! Believe it or not I received  the Cottage Farms flowers that I had ordered.I put them in the garage so hopefully between the sun in that window and the heater they will survive before I even put them in the planters.

I thought I might have to buy a new vacuum yesterday becaue the Dyson quit working half way thru the family room. UGH!!!! Turns out it blew a hole through the tubing. (a small twig was cause of it) and it was running hot so the auto shut off kicked in. It's old and the warranty expired a while ago.  We put some duck tape over the hole and let it sit overnight to cool off. (no wonder I was tired. LOL)  It's working today so I figure it might last until I get the new floor.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Friday, April 4th)

Good Evening!  It was another hot day here today, but the high was "only" 94 compared to our record-breaking 100 degrees yesterday. But, it is windy today with "red flag" warnings.  Hope your weather has been okay.

I took another nice walk this morning.  In addition to doing my laundry, etc., I have spent time working on the luncheon/collection/card signing for Jackie.  There are always people who cancel for whatever reason, so I emailed the group and have a couple of cancelations, one who is coming that was not on my list, and two who are questionable (health issues).  Hopefully, there still should be at least 10 or more at the lunch.

After receiving a check in the mail from a volunteer who is back in her summer home, and cash in person from another, I went to Tractor Supply to purchase the gift card.

There was a sort of outdoor market in their parking lot -- jewelry, honey, decorations, etc., so I could not resist looking around.  And, I found a cute ceramic sign that says "Spoiled Cats Live Here with their Household Staff".  (Jackie has three cats, and there is a picture of three cats.)  And, the personalized ornament I ordered came in the mail today.   I am a happy camper to have all this done.

Much to my surprise, the Sketchers sneakers I ordered arrived today.  They seem to fit just as well as the other pair, thank goodness.

On impulse, I ordered the TSV capris yesterday evening since they are supposed to be cooler in the hot weather.  Hope I do not regret the purchase.

Not much news from Jean.

Good Afternoon!  Sorry I missed your post from yesterday, Fressa.  Glad your vacuum is working.  I saw that the TSV is an expensive Dyson vacuum.  Hope yours lasts for a while longer and you can find a less expensive one.

Happy Palm Sunday to all of you who celebrate.  I enjoyed church this morning -- very lively.

I stand corrected about the high temperature on Friday -- it made it to 102 degrees!  Today's high is supposed to be 90 degrees and next Saturday's high is expected to be 70 degrees.  Crazy.  Hope your plants make it okay.

Another neighborhood walk this morning -- I ran into a man I used to see regularly on my walks who wondered where I had been. Nice guy.

I plan to go to the gym later, and then do some chores around the house. Looking forward to a nice, quiet day.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Friday, April 4th)

Hello all and thanks for the update on Jean @LindaLatte

I'm sorry to read that Jean ushered in her birthday in a hospital setting.  I didn't have broken bones - I had frozen shoulder twice.  The first time I had no clue what was wrong so it was worse in my opinion.  The pain was so severe I asked my husband who was living at the time if he would still love me if they needed to amputate my arm.  I have a pretty good tolerance for pain and that first case of frozen shoulder nearly broke me.  Jean's pain has got to be bad right now.
