Shopaholics One Day at a Time - August 14th (Monday)

Good Morning Everyone,

I was admiring my new shoe shelf yesterday and for giggles wanted to see if my ankle boot collection would fit on the racks, should I buy another one.  Between the heels and the short boot shaft, there doesn't appear to be enough clearance between the shelfs.  I'm starting to think I'm going to need something adjustable from the Home Depot, rofl.  I will check out their website and see if I can find any ideas that could fit in closet (versus a garage workshop).

Back to work for me today.

hello ladies, thanks for starting Bernie...I hope you can find the exact storage you need  for your ankle boot collection!

You look as if you are having a great time Kathleen making great memories.  CHarlene I hope things are getting back to normal down in Va. where your son is....that must have been very frightening for him and also you to be seeing it going on.

Not much else here....and that's a good thing, it's hot and muggg here, not sure if we are suppose to get rain....Wednesday it's back up into the 90's!

Have a nice day everyone......Marijane

Bernie--Thank you for starting the thread. Perhaps this style of shoe rack might work well for your shoes and boots: Household Essentials 2138 Three-Tier Adjustable Revolving Shoe Rack at Amazon.

Marijane--It is a blah day here, complete with rain. When is your trip planned?

A friend called me who was having what she considered a medical situation that would prevent her from driving. I was to take her to the city to see the specialist but they couldn't work her in today and didn't seem to think it was a situation that required her to go to the emergency room. We will, however, be going to the capital city at 7:30am tomorrow for tests prior to her appointment.

I haven't bought anything other than food since the Carolyn Pollack ring purchase on Designer Silver Day.  I am trying to be good. When I saw Renee today during the presentation of the TSV, I thought of the old Citi Knits line. I really liked that line.

I got in 30 minutes of active minutes of exercise this morning and will aim for another 30 during the rest of the day to compensate for any days I might not be able to get it in this week.

Jean I hope your friend will be doing ok,,,,safe travels when you take her tomorrow for her apt.    We leave the 22 nd..have an 8.30 non stop from JFK....we will be having a car service picking us up at 5am....I think a little early..the airport is only a little over an hour from us but being a weekday there is a possibility of a lot of traffic....so I'd rather sit in the a/p than in traffic trying to get there.    IF we drove would park in the long term parking then take the monorail to our terminal which adds on time....so we will just be dropped off in front of terminal and not have to worry about anything.

That shoe rack looks interesting.

Marijane--That sounds like a convenient solution to your flight needs. My airport is an hour and 45 minutes away. As a result, when we have an early flight, we go down and stay the night before. The same  applies if we return late at night. It seems as if every airline has an early flight out, so it can be a challenge finding a place that is convenient in the long term parking garage. We usually have to check in at 5am for our flight.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time - August 14th (Monday)

Good Morning/Afternoon, and thanks for getting us started, Bernie.  Hope you find a good storage solution for your shoes.

Hope you have a fun trip, Marijane.  Your airport solutions sound good to me.

Also hope your friend will be okay, Jean, and I hope your drive early tomorrow is not a problem.  Good for you with the exercise.  I think an hour of active minutes is great, especially when you have only been doing this in earnest for less than a month.  Way to go!  Also good idea to get in some extra exercise when you have the chance.  I used to have lots of Citi knits, and I still have the skirt part of a set.  I loved how easy it was to travel with, etc., and the prices were reasonable compared to similar lines.  No TSV for me since they just look too tight.  I guess I could size up, but better to skip it.

I did get out all my pants so I can try them on and decide what to keep and what to donate or trash.  I already have moved one pair to my "maybe" donate place.  Lovely material, etc, but the fit was not great.  While I could wear them under a tunic or whatever, I would always know that they were tight on my inner thighs of all places.

You are pointing out one of my weaknesses, meallen.  Seems like there are always new shoes to tempt me.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.

It was lovely on my walk this morning -- low 70's with a breeze, and I have been to my strong bones class.

Since my bookclub/lunch was canceled (one of the three ladies is sick), I am headed to visit DH now.

Have a nice evening everyone!

Hugs,

Linda

Hi Marijane @Genny1, the humidity increased in my part of the country over the weekend so I had to kick the air back on (at night).  I was able to let my birds catch up on the local gossip most of the day.  I think the windows will be staying closed for the rest of the week because a warm front is heading my way again.

Hi Jean @KonaKat  Geez what a scary way to start the day, with an possible ER transport.  If I believed in reincarnation, I would think I must have been an ambulance driver is a previous life.  I've transported an aunt having a heart attack, my sister who's lung collapsed (at night in thick fog no less) and my dad who's appendix ruptured.

I hope that your friend will be okay and it's really nice of you to get up at the crack o dawn to take her to her appointments.
