Good morning ladies, hope all is well.
We have had a bit of change in our weather, it has been raining since last night. I am not complaining, it is 50 degrees out, and I know if we don't get snow we do need the rain.
Not much going on here today, I have to get the floors downstairs swept and the kitchen floor mopped. Other than that nothing exciting here. What is everyone up to today?
Have a good morning everyone.

Hi PAlady, looks like we posted at about the same time, here is what I posted:
Hi ladies, hope all are well. Wanted to post before I get amped up and running all day again.
Just guessing here, from my own experience yesterday, that back braces aren't meant for use for arthritic back issues. Tried it as I had some shopping to do and household chores for the afternoon. By the time I got home I could barely walk, couldn't get that thing off fast enough, lol. After about an hour I could at least move around again. The colder weather didn't help things either. I am back to my "normal" today. I am trying different things to try to make the things I used to do as a matter of course, more manageable. I refuse to give in to this ridiculous back of mine and just vegetate in the recliner. Whatever I can manage to do and for as long as I can, I intend to continue to do. Live and learn...
Still have a full list of things I want to get done, but I am whittling away at that list and it nows seems manageable, at least. If something doesn't get done, it is not the end of the world.
I now have a two pieces of road equipment in my front yard. Another load of gravel was just dumped in the street. Couple days ago I pulled in to my driveway while 3 of the work men were there, so I walked out and asked if everything was going according to plan, they all three said, in unison, "No". It made me laugh. One of them said this whole project had been a nightmare, and the cold weather wasn't helping. I just said, well, does any project ever go easily? Wished them a good day and went inside. I laughed to myself off and on all day about that conversation with those guys.
Anyway, I have rambled on long enough, didn't mean to write a book.
Hope everyone has a great day. Waves.....

Good Morning, getting ready to head to O'Hare for some of our Christmas entertainment, we have Barbershop Quartet today, marching thru the Terminals, good exercize & fun times
Tomorrow also, so everything for the Holiday is on hold till the week-end, my new motto is what doesn't get done, doesn't get done lol

Spix...I love the new motto, it is a good one.
Working today , pretty slow. Yeah!
It is a cold rainy day very gloomy.
One of the girls here is leaving for a new jobm Friday iks her last day. She brought my Christmas present a beautiful black and cream poncho. I can't wait to wear it.
I am only working Monday and Tuesday next week, have a little cleaning to do and wrapping, which I love. I am having Christmas Eve dinner at my house and then we go to church. Some cooking, but the guest all bring a dish so it is not a problem. Can't wait. After dinner we go to candle light service at my church it is a beautiful service.
The shopping is all finished a few last minute items at the grocery store and that is it.
I hope that everyone is well.
Linda Latte, you and your DH are always in my prayers.

I read your posts each night, but have not had the time or energy to reply to all of you. Things have been very rough for all of us. Mom is sleeping most of the time & not very responsive to any of us at this point. On Monday DH & I did get to do some Christmas shopping in the capitol city before going to our DGS's band concert that evening. JCP, Kohl's, Boston Store etc. all had 60-70% off on lots of things. We did manage to get our eldest DGS a nice Green Bay Packers hooded sweatshirt. His 2 younger sibs wanted books from the book store, so it was fun to not be buying video games. The 2 DGS's will also get gift cards as will their parents, but we are having fun buying for our only DGD this year. We also got her a beautiful faux fur vest & a pretty nail polish set as she likes to paint her toes before she goes bare footed to taewondo. I am meeting a friend this afternoon to get some cheese/sausage for our Christmas Eve luncheon at our place next week. I also have lab work tomorrow morning & then Dr. follow up. BIRD MAMA, It is not a fasting one though. Almost time to think about fixing lunch before going off to see mom. Hugs to all of you. I hope to be able to start posting more regularly. Today is our first day with normal temps & probably no chance for a White Christmas. Back into the 40's by Sunday & all next week with chance of a little rain. I would much rather have some snow.

Good Morning! Thanks for getting us started Susan and snicks. It continues to be pretty cool/cold here, but no rain or clouds. It was in the 20's again this morning, but we are supposed to make it up into the mid-50's today, and mid-high 60's tomorrow and Saturday. Much better weather for me. I hope that those of you who like having a White Christmas get one.
Very sorry to hear about your back, snicks. Your attitude sounds great, and I hope you don't have too much pain today.
Sounds like you will be having fun today, spix. We have a Barbershop group here -- more than just four, and they are really quite good.
Hi Rosa -- thanks for your prayers, they are most appreciated. Sounds like you have a wonderful Christmas celebration coming up. The last time I heard from my SIL, she said that it will be nice having someone special to celebrate the holidays with this year. My brother (her husband) passed away four years ago in May (2011), so she has been on her own for quite a while.
Sorry things are so rough for you twinny. Glad you are having some fun shopping, etc. despite your Mom's condition. Praying for you.
Waves to Jean, Kathleen, Arlene, Bernie, Marijane, LindaR, Charlene, Barbara, pinky ann, Karen, Gayle, and all of our posters and readers.
The volunteer appreciation dinner went well last night, and they gave us small gift bags, and tiny tins of cookies. Since I have been a lazy bones, we can probably use the cookies. I still plan to do some baking, but far less than usual. DD is sending me homemade cookies and candies, so I don't want to overdo. Maybe I'll concentrate on Christmas breads and other types of desserts (not cookies or candy.)
I don't think I shared it yesterday, but I was busy patting myself on the back for finding a nice birthday "gift" for DH's DD (her birthday was yesterday). She and her family were fostering some feral kittens, and I found out the organization she was doing it for (mostly a one lady, but....), and made a small contribution in her name. The lady was very pleased, and personally delivered a card when she picked up the cages (the kittens had been adopted). His DD was very pleased, and I was so happy that I thought of this idea. I know that several of you have talked about animal rescue, etc., which helped inspire me. Thanks.
No big plans here. I do have a caregivers meeting today, and I may or may not go to the gym after that. There are a few specials I would like to pick up at the grocery store, so I may stop by there or maybe not. Cleaning the house is really needed as well.
Hope everyone has a nice day!
Hugs,
Linda

Good afternoon ladies.
Snicks - Great minds think alike. Sorry about your back, hope you feel better today. Also, sorry the work isn't going well in front of your house, hope it is not too much of a mess at Christmas.
Spix - Have fun today, sounds very entertaining
Rosa - The poncho sounds lovely, Hope all goes well for your dinner.
Twinny - Sorry your mom is not doing well, I will be thinking of you and your DH. Glad you got some of you shopping done.
LindaL - Glad the dinner went well last night, your idea for DH's DD gift was a good one. I am sure the rescue appreciated it. My parents don't send Christmas cards out anymore, they make a donation to the local humane society instead.
Well, I got my floors done and mesed on the computer some now back to doing something constructive.
Have a good afternoon everyone.

Hello all, the thread got off to a great start today :-)
Not too much to add today, just working.

It's fun to see what you all are doing and planning for Christmas.
Weather is great here, though we need rain. On Tuesday my DD and I went to an out-of-town mall to shop for clothes for her. Found a number of nice things for when she starts clincal rotations at vet school in a couple of months. The mall was busy but not overly crowded. The check-out lines were all really slow though. I have no idea why each line seemed to take 1/2 hour. It got tiring. Last night a friend of my DS came over and we played board games and ate Mrs.Prindable's apples. Stayed up till past 1:00 am, it was a lot of fun.
My DS is sleeping in late, but I'm going to be waking him up soon. We're supposed to be helping my Mom with her Christmas decorations and do a bit of Christmas shopping. Hope we can get going soon.
May you all have a blessed day! ~ Charlene

I see everyone is busy, busy today.
I am taking a break from my own busy-ness, lol. I got quite a lot done, and seem to be right on track to get all accomplished that I wanted to, or close anyway and that is good enough for me.
Been checking out the work in progress in my front yard, geez, what a mess, my whole front yard is covered in mud, no grass left. I really hope they plan to re-seed and smooth it all out when they get done.
Have a great evening everyone.
