Shopaholics One Day At A Time (Saturday, March 15th)

Good morning ladies, hope all is well.

We are enjoying some beautiful weather here (have been in the low 70's this week), we also call this Fake Spring.  I know we will pay for this in a week or so, we will look out the window and there will be 6 inches of snow.. Of course, I hope I am wrong.

Bernie - You were speaking of birdbaths.   I bought one that heats up for the winter and loved it for this past winter.  The squirrels love it, and I have had a nice variety of birds using it.  And it was nice not running out everyday or twice a day dumping out the ice from the water bowl.  Should have done it a couple years ago.

sydsgma1 - Glad to hear you did well with you injection.  Like you I have not watched certain parts of the news.  I know I should, but it irritates me and life is too short for that.

Linda - Happy to hear DH's friend did well.

Well off to get my morning going.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Re: Shopaholics One Day At A Time (Saturday, March 15th)

Good Afternoon!  Thanks for getting us started, Susan.  Glad your weather is nice.  Interesting about your heated birdbath.  Our weather continues changing.  It only made it up into the low 50's yesterday, and we had some rain last night.  Today it is mostly sunny, and the predicted high is 62. Warmer temperatures are predicted for tomorrow and Monday, then in the mid 60's on Tuesday.

My patient visit yesterday was good.  They had a chair exercise video on the TV, and a couple of ladies in the day room were following the exercise.  I did some myself, and my sweet patient did a little with one foot.  She told me that she had exercised into her early 90's, but no longer could do so.

It was extremely quiet in the office yesterday afternoon, which does not please me.  I did finish a book that I had been reading.

Today is my late husband's birthday, so I have been reflecting quite a bit on our time together -- way too short, but good.

I have no idea why, but my right hip suddenly started hurting yesterday morning.  Tylenol is helping.

Nothing exciting planned for today.  I hope to take a walk after lunch when it is warmer out.

Waves to Susan, Fressa, Bernie, Barbara, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: Shopaholics One Day At A Time (Saturday, March 15th)

Good Sunday afternoon. It is 22 but the terrible winds have diminished. V3 is coming to get me shortly.

my back is a little better but not as much as I had hoped.

Susan. Glad that you are having good weather. No snow here so I wonder if farming will start early.

Linda, happy heavenly birthday to your dear husband. I find the remembrance days very difficult. There s a group that does exercises here.lli need to return.

i have my clothes sorted...still way too many. I am going to reorganize my closet so I can see what I have. Lol

enjoy the day 🍀🍀🍀

Re: Shopaholics One Day At A Time (Saturday, March 15th)

Good Afternoon!  Sorry your back isn't improved as much as you hoped, Barbara.  Fingers crossed that you will see more improvement tomorrow.  Glad you are getting out of the house with your son.

It was chilly this morning, but it has warmed up into the the mid 60's and is sunny.  Later it should make it up to the mid 70's.  Much more to my liking than 22 degrees.

Good luck with your closet organizing.  I need to get back to that, but am concentrating on kitchen cabinets, decorations, etc. at the moment. I did find a pair of pants to donate yesterday.  They just didn't look great on me.

DH's friend called me just as I was going into church.  While his operation went well, he is in rehab for a week which he doesn't like at all.

Waves to Barbara, Susan, Fressa, Bernie, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Hugs,

Linda

P.S. I made Irish soda bread the other day, and am enjoying it much more than expected.  I plan to take in half to the senior lunch program because the recipe made a rather large loaf for one person.

Re: Shopaholics One Day At A Time (Saturday, March 15th)

Good Morning/Afternoon and Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.  I like the TSV but will not order since I would not get much, if any, use of it here in southern Arizona.

It is warm here today with a high in the mid 80's predicted.  Tomorrow's high is predicted to be in the mid 60's.  Still the rollercoaster weather.  Hope all of you are safe and the storms didn't do too much if any damage in your area.

My hospice patient was asleep almost the entire time I visited her this morning. She seemed to be comfortable, just sleepy. I will be going into the hospice office this afternoon.

Heard from DD that my youngest DGS made it safely to Bulgaria (he went there for work).  I think he will be going to a couple other countries before coming home late next month.  Quite an adventure.

I forgot to take a Tylenol last night, and my right hip was aching enough to wake me up around 3:00 a.m.  Luckily, the heating pad and Tylenol helped me get back to sleep, and the pain is not bad this morning.

Waves to Barbara, Susan, Fressa, Bernie, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone has a nice evening!

Re: Shopaholics One Day At A Time (Saturday, March 15th)

Hi Everyone!

I'm a bit behind this week with my postings. We were in the path of that ugly storm but  it t wasn't as bad for us as others. It was actually raining marble size hail.  It looks like all the outside areas and roof, etc. are okay. I'll make another check over the weekend but nothing looks bent or broken. We were very lucky.

I hope everyone is feeling improved a little each day. Now that the sun is shining and the snow (maybe) is leaving is a better time to venture outside .(if possible)

HSN is having quite a few garden/ousdie items sale this week. I found a small metal two piece  fence panel for the side garden to replace the old bamboo one from years ago. It was a decent price so I hope it works.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: Shopaholics One Day At A Time (Saturday, March 15th)

good afternoon I am recovering from my activities lol. I am working n increasing endurance but continue to use the electric carts.

i had my hair trimmed an added some purple highlights. I received some compliments during my stops.

Does anyone remember the poem "When I am old I shall wear purple". That would be me.

Fressa..I am sure that you are thankful the bad storms missed you. The weather has been so devastating in so many areas . A few yeas ago we had a devastating hail storm in Mn and had to have the roof and siding replaced.it was quite  struggle with our homeowners to get it all done.

Linda you are having some lovely weather. I continue to mss Az very much. I have learned to adapt to my loneliness, but it has been a journey.

i. Bought some soup from Panera so I do not have to cook.

Sleep tight 💕💕

Re: Shopaholics One Day At A Time (Saturday, March 15th)

Good Evening!  Certainly glad the storms didn't cause much if any damage to your home, Fressa.  Hope the fence panels you ordered work well.

Glad you were able to get out Barbara, despite needing to use the cart.  I had my hair cut today, but did not get the purple.  My hairdresser does not do that type of color, and I didn't want to have to find a new one.  I kind of like it myself.

Not easy to deal with loneliness even after all these years.  Glad you are making some progress.

The senior lunch program went pretty well except for a couple of participants.  One man did not like some of the questions on the form you sign when you decide to participate in the program (which is subsidized and intended for seniors.)  He went to the directors office, and started shouting a bunch of profanities about the form and threw it at her.

She is such a nice and kind person, but that shook her up.  Later she told her boss and the volunteers that if he comes again, she will tell him that he is no longer welcome since this is a community gathering and do not tolerate that sort of language and behavior.  I never saw such behavior in all the years I have volunteered there.

I received my Little Giant stepladder today, and I think it will be a good purchase.  I feel more secure on it than my other stepstools which is important.  Also decided it was time to get rid of my 6 foot ladder that I have not used for several years.  It had been sitting outside for quite a while, and I had a lot of trouble opening and closing it.   Finally WD40 helped.  I put it up for free on Next Door, and hope someone will want it.  If not, I guess I will have to see if the trash collectors will take it or if I need to pay to have it taken away.

One thing lead to another, and I decided to donate my old stepstool -- that should be easy enough to fit in my car.  And, then I found a nice carving set to donate since I no longer make/eat roasts and other meats.  Baby steps, but at least I am decluttering.

Hope everyone sleeps/slept well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: Shopaholics One Day At A Time (Saturday, March 15th)

Happy first day of Spring. The temps are more Spring like ..into the 50s. Cooler tomorrow.

i am feeling so much better. I would say the injection is working very well. I was able to take 2 walks yesterday with minimal suffering. 😊

the clothing purge continues...I won't tell you how many pairs of pjs I have, but over half will be donated. . Methinks moving made me forget what I had.

Nothing on the agenda today. I have the newest prequel to the Hunger Games on my kindle. I may start today.

Linda...folks tend to be very rude. That is not ok about the actions that man took. I am happy that you like your ladder. You are much braver than I about getting off the ground.

i cooked last night and it was yummy. I had one half of a small chicken flavored with lemon pepper. I put it in my crockpot with carrots and potatoes. I have frozen 2 more servings.

Greetings to everyone. 🌸🌸🌼🌼🐥
