Re: Shopaholics - ODAT, Wednesday, May 18th

Hello everyone and thanks to @PAlady for the start today. I am passing on the TSV today, I am also so looking forward to some actual summer weather. It's been raining and dreary for entirely too long to suit me. Glad Katie is doing some better.

@KonaKat, my weeds are loving this rain too, boo hoo! lol

@ksmitty28, I was wanting to get our pool open early this year, that did not happen (we do it ourselves) and at this point, it is just as well, lol. Although it would be nice to have that over with, it is quite a job. I am so glad you had a great vacation in the Bahamas with all your children as well. How fun!

@Gennygirl, it must be hair day, lol. I just got back from getting mine cut and styled.

@spix, I didn't know there was a driving refresher course, may not be one here. Mine doen't expire till 2021, so guess I don't need to investigate that for a while still.

@fbm8282lsm, enjoy that cheesecake and the afternoon off.

@cerb, people can be so rude, I don't blame you for being upset with that lady, I would have been also. Sorry no sign of Davis yet and Rosie, ((hugs)). Our pets are family and this is so upsetting.

Ok this is what I have decided to wear for my granddaughter's wedding on Saturday. It is not going to be an over the top type wedding, very nice, her dress is a full length gown and all that, but she's not a 'fancy' girl, very laid back.  I will be wearing this dress:

These shoes, only higher heeled:

payless nude pump.jpg

Then these I will switch into for the reception cause they will be more comfortable:

Or maybe some black flats, lol. Sorry about the sizing on these photos.

Have a nice day. Waves to everyone....

Re: Shopaholics - ODAT, Wednesday, May 18th

Wow!  You girls are busy.  SUSAN, We are getting some very nice weather after a cold weekend. I am trying to send it to the East Coast.  I need to pick up the house too, but not before next week.

Maryjane,  I love a salon day.  Enjoy the pool when the weather cooperates.  I am sending warm weather your way.  Our DS & DDIL are going to Ogunquit over Memorial Day & need nice weather.

Jean,  a GPS V Ninja is funny.  My choice would be a new GPS too.  The lawn is growing like crazy here & DH is now mowing the lawn

KAREN, How fun to spend a few days in the Bahamas with the kids.  Hopefully you will get pool time soon.

SPIX, Good luck with the senior driving update.  I would dread doing that.

Rosa, have a fun afternoon.  Your week away sounds fabulous.

CERB,  I am still praying for Davis & Rosie.  I agree with the RUDE comments.  I know how hard your DD is working as our DS earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1996 & then 8 years ago he went back to Medical School & spent 3 years fulltime getting his Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  He now loves doing both professions.

Bird Mama, I was so sad to read about your youngest niece getting a divorce.  I am still sad about our niece & her ex.  Her little girl is 2 1/2 & seems to be adjusting nicely.  We all loved her ex, so it is hard to figure out his thinking.  He & his GF bought a house 2 blocks from us & 3 blocks from our niece & her daughter so it is handy as they share custody of their daughter every other day.  Sad nevertheless.

Llindal, prayers for you as wheelchairs are hard to manage.  They are heavy & you are a small person.  I could not have done it for my DH like he did it for me.  My crazy life will be next.

Hugs to all of you.

Re: Shopaholics - ODAT, Wednesday, May 18th

Hi girls!

It's another sunny day here; I have to take advantage of the nice weather while I can, as more storms are supposed to hit on Friday with heavy rain.

Yesterday I just had to get out of the house, and was just in the mood to buy something. I dropped the boxes off at the new thrift shop and looked around a bit, but it seemed overpriced, although the money raised goes for a good cause. I ended up going to Fort O, where I stopped at Ross. The dogs were in the car so it had to be a quick in-and-out, but I found a waterer for the outside cats which I thought would be better as "stuff" won't get into it as it does with bowls. I had no intention of looking at clothes, but right inside the door was a display with the cutest peasant style top that I couldn't resist...especially since it was Tuesday and there was the extra 20% off. From there I thought I'd check Aldi; starting today one of their "special buys" was a cooler bag that's large enough to hold 24 cans of something; I've been looking for one to use to bring home frozen food from my trips to Trader Joes, and at $9.99 those things sell out fast, as do most of their specials. I thought I'd take a look and see if they put them out early, and sure enough, I was able to get one of the few remaining ones. Cat Happy

So, I got home and was making lunch, when I accidentally kicked the cats' big water bowl in the kitchen...again.  I decided to go back to Ross and get another one of those waterers, and since it was much cooler took time to browse a bit and found a cute pair of Italian sandals for under $20.  I'm happy to say I did pass on a purse that was tempting, especially since it was on clearance, and although they had a lot of dresses I didn't even look, as I've been giving most of my dresses away because I don't wear them.  Then I went to Marshall's next door but nothing tempted me; I just got some mojito tea.

Got home and started to fill the waterers...when I noticed that they're not for water, they're for food.  I tried to fill them with water but it doesn't work, so it looks like I'm headed back to Ross today to return them.  (sigh)  Now that I have it in my head to get a couple of those things I have to look around, but it's not likely I'll beat the price of $5.99.

Charlene, I'm thinking about you - maybe Davis will still show up.  Just hold on to the thought that the Lord loves those furbabies even more than  you do, and you WILL see them again.  I still miss so many of mine, especially my Angel, but oh, what a reunion it's going to be! Cat LOL

Jean, those muffins look interesting; I'll have to give them a try. Have you made them yet?

Marijane, Angelica seems to be fine with her kennel; it's big enough that she has her Doggie Palace in there, which she loves. I try to let her out on a tie-up for a few hours a day (in addition to the outings the dogs have most days), but that silly dog has a talent for getting hopelessly tangled up in anything around. Yesterday she had the cable twisted around some vines about 10 times over - I don't know how the heck she does it!  Cat Frustrated

The Seresto collar came from Amazon; it only comes in small and large, so I got the large for Autumn, and there was enough left over after I cut it to size to use for Whisper - those two have really bad flea problems. I'll need to get Mark to punch holes in both ends of the trimmed piece, and it should be good to go. It seems to be working - whereas Autumn is usually crawling with fleas even soon after a bath, I haven't seen any on her today.

I did get checked into classes last night but was too tired to do anything else. I'm going to Jasper tomorrow, so I'm off to make some banana blueberry cupcakes now - both for the bank, since they save me so much money on military postage, and for my mechanic; my car needs steering fluid again, and he doesn't charge me to fill it. After that it's back to Ross, then to Publix...they actually have enough things on sale that I need to reach $50, and with a purchase of $50 or more you get a $50 gas card for $40.

LindaL, hope you're having a good day.

Hi to everyone - have a blessed day!

Re: Shopaholics - ODAT, Wednesday, May 18th

I am still busy with mom's house & estate.  I have given a friend & neighbor a tour yesterday & today as  they have been watching the different home improvements going on.  The last few things went to St.  Vincent's yesterday.

Our niece moves in this Friday & the home closing is next Thursday.  Hopefully it will go smoothly.

I have my dreaded lab work & Dr. follow-up tomorrow morning.  Then friends are coming & we are having a nice lunch out.

I need to clean house one of these days.  It is a good thing I cleaned house before we went on vacation.

My closet will get decluttered soon as I have too many spring & summer clothes.  You ladies are such an encouragement to me.

As soon as DH is done mowing, we will escape to the hot tub.

SNICK's, we were posting at the same time.  Nice outfit & shoes for your granddaughters wedding.  Our weather has finally shaped up nicely.  70's & 80's by the weekend.  DH & I have a wedding & graduation next weekend & 2 weddings in June.   All young people from our church.  One of the weddings in June is planned for outdoors.

Rock Chick, prayers for you too as you have lots of things going on.  Good luck with both of your job searches.   It sounds like you are getting your home to your liking.

FHG, It sounds like your life is  crazy too.   Sorry about not being able to use those things for water.  Your cupcakes always make me so hungry.  I have to step on the dreaded clinic scale tomorrow so meals are on the light side this week.  I did a little damage last week with some fun vacation eating so I am paying for it this week.

@Snicks1

Which wedding is this?  Did you wear your Linea outfit and the Chaps dress already?
