Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.

This is my third time at trying to start the thread, the first two times I had nice long threads and would hit the wrong button and it would disappear. So I decided to wait for awhile then try again. I love my new computer, but the keyboard is smaller and I end up hitting buttons I shouldn't. Oh well, live and learn.

Hope the weather is nice for some of you (hint: LindaL), ours stinks. It is cold and very cold when the wind kicks up and we are getting some snow flurries, but I don't think it will matter much. this is the winter that just will not end. I am sick of it, just sick of it. Okay that is my weather rant for the day.

I have been enjoying the Silver Bonanza today, can't believe they are on the OTO already. I do need to go thru mine again, I think I need on of Joy Mangano 's silver keeper jewelry mirrors. Right now all my jewelry is in a couple different places, and I forget what I have. I do need to do some more organizing on that. Think that will be a Spring (if it ever gets here) projects.

Jean - Hope you get your furnace fixed soon, if it not fixed already.

Well off to get some caffeine and do something constructive around here. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT Thursday

Good morning Susan and friends and readers!! Susan I love my Lori G jewelry wall mirror. I got it one year for Christmas and I love love love having it all there and I know when I'm getting too much it's time to go through it and let some go. By now I have my favorite pieces and there are several that just don't get worn much.

After having a busy crazy Tuesday at work I am enjoying my ""quiet"" down here. lol Kyanne is keeping me company today and I have a lot of errands to run at lunchtime.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT Thursday

Good afternoon, it is sunny and windy with a wind chill of -3. Now that I am in our office I dread leaving to go home. Brrr. The air here is so dry and so is my skin.

Not too much going on here today, I think people are staying in if possible. We have had lots of phone calls tho.

I love those Lori G wall mirrors, they seem like they have a place for everything and you could hang them at a height that workds for you. I don't wear much jewelery usually the same stuff everyday.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT Thursday

Good Morning/Afternoon! Thanks for getting us started Susan. I have had the same issue with posting/starting the thread some days -- very frustrating. Yes, our weather is still nice. We are expecting winds to kick up tomorrow, and Saturday we are expecting a bunch of rain and cooler temperatures. The rain is a "need" so I will try not to complain. Hope those in the cold/snow zone get some relief soon. I have a LG jewelry case, but it isn't one of the large ones, and I have an excess amount of jewelry.

DH is ready for the gym now. I'll try to post later.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT Thursday

Good evening, everyone!

Susan--Thank you for starting the thread. I have a full length mirror on feet that hides a jewelry organizer. I bought it in a furniture store about 20 years ago. Later, Lori sold one similar to it.

Kathleen--It sounds as if you are making good use of your Lori jewelry organizer. Enjoy your quiet time, a time for yourself away from the hectic office demands.

Rosa--The cold weather and the heating has resulted in some very dry skin. I guess you use a humidifier but it is still a challenge. Your temps are bad also.

Linda--I also have a Lori jewely case. I hope you get your needed rain but not in amounts that can create problems. Enjoy the good temps while you can.

I awakened this morning to discover my heat had gone out. It was a different cause this time, so it is apparent the HVAC isn't going to make it. Rather than investing more money in a repair that night not pay off because another part might go, I told him to go ahead and replace it.

Right now, I'm using a tower space heater that I got this Fall from Amazon. It is keeping the room around 63, which isn't bad considering the house is an open space design. We are expecting temperatures around 5 tonight with a lower wind chill. Great timing!!

Re: Shopaholics ODAT Thursday

So sorry to hear about your heating issue Jean. But, I think you are right in replacing it rather than continuing with repair after repair. I have had similar experiences with things like cars and washing machines in the past. I remember one time when we were having a fairly mild winter, but our furnace died. The repair person came and started the job which would be finished the next day. Wouldn't you know, that was one of the coldest nights of the winter. And, I don't think we owned space heaters at the time. Glad you do have a good one. But, it is such a shame to have such a big expense come sooner rather than later.{#emotions_dlg.sad}

Another busy day for me. I went to the podiatrist who suggested using bandages for the time being (for my toe problem.) He said that if things got worse, I could consider surgery, but better to hold off on that until/unless necessary. That was a pleasant diagnosis.

Came home for a little while and then headed out to the gym with DH. After the gym, we had lunch, and then I had a "class". DH wanted to take a walk right after I got home, so I'm finally back to the computer.

Need to deliver some telephone directories to our neighbors (this helps our community.) Although there aren't too many houses involved (20 or so), it takes a bit of time since you need to actually hand the directory to a person, not just drop it off.

DD found a nearby gym for oldest DGS -- low cost for students, and now several others in the family are probably going to join. The family rate isn't bad, and there is no initiation fee. One of the really good thing is that DGD seems to like it -- she is pretty resistant to exercise, so that makes me happy. College DGS met with representatives of the four-year school he plans to transfer to next Fall, and that went very well. Hopefully, he will get a substantial scholarship.

Waves to Kathleen, Rosa, and all of our posters and readers.

Sleep well everyone!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: Shopaholics ODAT Thursday

Linda--Great news from the podiatrist. It is good news when you have a specialist who is not surgery happy but uses it as a last resort. That is what is happening with my arm and shoulder. I'm not dipping into my savings for the HVAC replacement. I know I can get a zero percent from Bank of America until December 2015. I'll have them do some number crunching to see how much the interest would be if it went to 24 months. I want to compare that to the local bank. I hate increasing the amount of revolving credit as opposed to a bank loan but I want to use the cheaper approach.
