Shopaholics: ODAT (Saturday, May 20)

Good morning ladies, hope all is well.

Can't believe we have beautiful weather all week until, I have to help my mother plant flowers today.  I hoping the rain holds off until this evening, we will see.  We have had some great weather here, now I think the temps will dip next week and we will have rain almost everyday.  Just can't win with this weather.

Jean - Hope yesterday went well for you.  Are you doubling up on caffine today?

Not much going on here, I do need to get a couple things done.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Re: Shopaholics: ODAT (Saturday, May 20)

Susan, after 2 days of record highs we had rain & 50's yesterday morning.  Afternoon sunshine.  It is supposed to rain this morning & a few days next week, but I will be loving the 60's again.  I hope that you can get the flowers planted before it rains.

I need to clean house & then I want to moped downtown to our local farmer's market & get my walk in if it doesn't rain.

I didn't walk on Thursday because my infusion was all morning & I slept all afternoon.

Yesterday was fun. I went to a garage sale 2 blocks away & bought 15 paperbacks for $3.00.  Then some good friends came & we had lunch out & played cards.  Her DH had a biopsy done on his cheek.  He had skin cancer surgery a few years ago & I think that the cancer is back.

DH is up early so he can take branches to the city garage.  We had nasty windy thunderstorms here Thursday night.

Off for coffee & getting breakfast ready.

Hugs to all of you.

Susan--Thank you for starting the thread. I do hope the rain holds off so that you can plant the flowers. It seems the weather always seems to interfere with our plans.

Twinny--You've got some good reading ahead of you with all those books. Great purchase. Perhaps you might want to spend another day of rest in recuperation from the infusion.

I awakened at 5:30am. So much for sleeping in on the weekend. My second cup of coffee is underway. After the actual test when they administered the second injection for pictures, they gave me a snack and a big cup of coffee to drink while waiting for the dye to circulate in the body before taking the second set of pictures. The whole thing from start to finish took 3 hours.

I'm now watching AM Style. Time will tell if I bite on anything. I do know I wore yesterday the Vionic TSV sandals A287189. They were so comfy that I'm tempted to see what other colors are available.

I'm just relaxing right now. I should be working around the house but time will tell.

Hello all - I just finished cutting the grass in the front yard.  I can't dilly-dally too much today, I think rain is coming tonight.

Macy's is having a charity thing.  If you donate $3 to the YMCA (or Y) you get 25% off.

I have been stocking up on a new style of Vanity Fair wireless bra (new to me) as Macy's has sales.  JCP is too cheap to have a good bra sale.  I have 3 new bras and might buy 3 more today.  Normally $38, on sale for $17.99 and for $3 I get another 25% off.  Can't beat that with a stick.  Ebates just at 3% but I'm not greedy.  Sometimes I still forget to use ebates at Macy's.

I recently received an ebates check for $39.76.  It's a miracle that I remembered ebates enough times to earn that.

meallen--Love the graphic. Certainly fits me today.

Bernie--My eBates check this time was a measley $19+ but then I hadn't been buying much. There were some high %age rebate stores but I didn't need anything from them. My lawn person was here today; better him than me

I got a message from MyFico from which I use a monitoring service. All my FICO scores in the top three credit bureaus are now in the low 800s or top 2% of people.

Re: Shopaholics: ODAT (Saturday, May 20)

Good Morning/Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Susan.  I hope the weather cooperates with your flower planting.  We are supposed to be having very warm/hot temperatures every day starting today.  They said on the weather forecast last night that this morning will probably be the last cool one for a while.  It was only in the 50's on my walk this morning, and it was nice and cool.

Sounds like you are having a good time, twinny.  Enjoy reading your new book collection.  I need to do more reading in the daytime since I get pretty sleepy when trying to read in bed as has been my habit for many years.

Hope your test results are good, Jean.  Sounds like quite a long process.  Yikes!  Good news on the sandals and your FICO score.

Cute graphic as usual, meallen.

Good bargain/rebate deals, Bernie.  Hope things will be a little less intense at work next week.

I have not been doing much this morning, but I did get my walk in and started on the laundry.  Also went through all my bank and credit card accounts in anticipation of my weekly financial review later.  Need to get ready to visit DH soon.  He was fine yesterday.  His DD told me that the husband of one of her good friends is having serious health issues -- on a ventilator.  This happened after he had some alternative therapy (perhaps an Ozone machine?) treatment.  Needless to say, her friend is very concerned, and DH's DD has visited him twice in the hospital.

Hope everyone has a nice day!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: Shopaholics: ODAT (Saturday, May 20)

Jean, I'm glad that the tests are over & you got a big cup of coffee between tests.  I am also glad that your need sandals are winners.  Good job on your FICO scores too.

Linda L, so sad about the man on the ventilator.  I can't read at night unless I can't sleep either because I get drowsy.  A good book is better than a sleeping pill for me.

Bird Mama, my DH wanted to mow lawn this morning, but it is rainy & yucky.  The only good thing is that the temps are mild.  You got a great bargain on the bras.  Every time I find one that I like, it gets discontinued.

Because of the rain, there is no mopeding, farmer's market or hot tubbing.  Maybe it will improve, but rain is in the forecast for several days.

I did get all of the floors steam mopped.  I love my steam mop.  The dusting is done.  Dinner is tilapia in the oven & French fries.

I am going to enjoy a food book & pretend that I am on vacation!

I am feeling better, but need another day or two to be my perky self.
