Good morning ladies, hope all is well.
This is my second attempt to start the thread, I do not like this new way, I had a long post and then hit sumbit and it asked for me to sign in again and lost my post.
The short story: Yesterday was my birthday and DH planned a great day, we went to lunch, saw the Minion movie (it was good) and went to supper. All in all it was a great day.
LindaL - Hope you find a new gym you like soon.
Jean - Glad the medical test came out good (not sure if I posted that earlier), and have you decided if you are going to sub this year?
I put ministronie soup in the crock pot to cook for lunch tomorrow, I like to let soup set one day before eating it, it seems to bring the flavor out more. I haven't decided what to do with my day, decluttering is calling, but not sure if I am answering.
Well off to do something, hope everyone has a great day.

Kathleen - Glad your interviews went well, if you were in an interview for 2 hours, they must have like you. Sorry DH doesn't like his new job, I hope it gets better for him.

Susan, thanks for getting us started. Yesterday was my youngest niece's birthday too.
The TSV bracelet is cute. If they had offered the same style in a S, M or L option, I probably would have bought the peridot as it's my birthstone and I don't own any peridot jewelry. Even though it's adjustable, it's just too long for my small wrist and I would lose patience with long danglies (lol).

Susan Happy birthday!!!!! I get a lot of errors signing in now, especially on my phone. I'm glad you had a good day and enjoyed the movie - it's on my list!
DH came home yesterday for good. I am happy he's home, a little angry that they misrepresented the job so much to him at the interview. Cancelled my appt for root canal and found someone to pull it. Yuck - I didn't want to go back to that endodontist ever!
I am working at home while it's cool, covered with sweat even though I got shorts and sleveless cotton top on.

Susan--Thank you for starting the thread. Belated congrats upon your birthday. It sounds as if you had a wonderful day yesterday. The soup sounds delicious and perhaps a belated birthday present might be a day off from decluttering.
Kathleen--It is sad that the job was misrepresented to your DH. He made the decision that was best for him and his health and his happiness as well as the family's happiness. I do hope the new dentist works out for you.
Bernie--I took one look at the Q and saw it was gem day and immediately started watching Netflix. Gem days have always appealed to me. Periodot is a lovely stone. I'm partial to rhodalite garnets but dislike those garnets that are more of a root beer or reddish brown color.
I've just been doing odds and ends around the house. We have sunshine today which is very motivating. Hopefully, the temperatures will start reflecting July weather as low 70s is ok during the day but just isn't summer.
I have an appointment in early August with my primary and need to have all these blood tests, etc. run. I just need to remember not to eat breakfast some day soon so I can get these tests done and out of the way. I also go back to my regular cardiologist on August 11, the same week students return to school. I wish it could have been the prior week.

Good Morning! Thanks for getting us started, Susan. Belated Happy Birthday to you. Glad you had a nice day. One of my former work friends had a birthday yesterday as well. Although she is still working, she said she planned to file for Social Security since she will be able to collect some money even before she retires. I am not eligible for SS, so I don't totally understand, but I'm glad for her.
Sounds like a good idea to get your soup started early. I always think about it, but usually don't plan ahead enough.
Hi Bernie! That was some volunteer adventure you had. I hope someone (or maybe several people) let the boss know that it is basically a waste since they don't need your help. At least you had a chance to walk around and go to the petting zoo. Although the petting zoo was pretty traumatic.
Like you, I have a small wrist, and I don't trust an adjustable bracelet and the dangle part. Just as well since I really don't need any more jewelry, particularly bracelets which I rarely wear.
I ended up going to the pool yesterday afternoon -- earlier than normal since I was concerned about storms. I had a nice swim and saw several of my pool buddies, which was nice.
This morning, I have my strong bones workout, and I need to lead the group since the regular leader isn't feeling well. Wish me luck. I have a caregivers support group meeting this afternoon -- first time. Hope that works out.
No other big plans for the day. Maybe I'll go to the pool again.
Waves to Jean, Kathleen (sounds good about your job interviews and hope your DH finds a new job), Arlene, twinny (having fun, I hope), pinky ann, Marijane, snicks, Barbara, Charlene (I hope that warehouse will mean that we get things faster in Arizona as well), LindaR, Rosa, Gayle, Karen, and all of our posters and readers.
Have a good day everyone!
Hugs,
Linda
ETA -- Sorry that they misrepresented the job to your DH, Kathleen, and good luck with having that tooth pulled. Hi Jean -- I think at a certain age you end up visiting doctors way too much. Of course, they help keep you going, so it is probably a positive, but....

Hi everyone - Bernie - I agree with your opinion of taking pregnant animals to the fair so that the public can watch them give birth. It would be stressful for them to be transported to a strange environment. There's always the possibility that things can go wrong too, and children might be quite upset by it. Susan - Happy Birthday a day late! Kathleen - hope the job search and new job for your DH work out well. And for all of you in heatwave/flooding parts of the country - I hope you stay safe!
I like gem days too much. I like jewelry too much. Jewelry, books, clothes = my weaknesses. I'm not getting the TSV because I don't wear gemstone bracelets very much, but I did buy the matching stack rings in several colors. I do believe I've been shopping too much this month. It kind-of comes in waves. Hmm...
My DD texted me this morning and said that they missed their train from Rome to Naples, so they had to wait an hour to catch the next train. That meant that instead of having 4 hours to spend in Pompeii they only had 3 hours. She said that Pomeii was "really neat" but that they didn't have enough time there. Right now they're on a long train ride to Venice.

Linda--I have to see on a regular basis my primary, my cardiologist, my specialized cardiologist and the urologist. Until two years ago, I was just seeing the primary. I then added the cardiologist and this year I was referred to the electrophysiologist (cardiologist) and the urologist. It looks as if these referrals to the specialized people are now going to six month intervals. It seems they still want to keep you tied into them. I'm sure you will do well leading the class.
Charlene--I used to have a severe weakness for gem day and found it hard to pass up. Now that I'm retired, I just don't wear jewelry like I once did. I wouldn't buy the TSV bracelet because the dangle would bother me. I do have a multi gemstone bracelet in my jewelry box which I once wore quite often but no longer do. Your DC continue to enjoy the trip but it is too bad that they didn't have enough time to explore some of the spots.
I've had lunch so now it is time for the afternoon Kindle time.

Hello Ladies, happy belated birthday to you Susan your day yesterday sounded wonderful.
I had written a post a few minutes ago but have no idea what happened to it, I was not finished with it... I keep seeing a message 'autosave' and I clicked on it and it said load or disgard.......I clicked on load but see nothing....oh well.....I ;ll see if I can remember most of what I wrote.
Sorry your day yesterday Bernie was not what was expected...I also thought that the bringing in the animals in front of everyone was kinda weird....as Charlene said what if something goes wrong?
Charlene it's too bad your DC missed their train and had less to spent in Pompeii ...it's a place that you can spend days in ...Venice is a beautiful place too. I agree about the bracelet I think it would drive me nuts having a chain hanging down...I will have to go and look at the rings you purchased.
I hope your support group works out well for you LindaL....and I know you will do well leading your bone class exercise.
Kathleen sorry about yourDH job and hope he finds one soon...I will keep him in my prayers, hope your tooth problem works out too.
It's a sunny day here, cool about 72 supposed to get down to 59 tonight....not complaining though....any day with no snow is a winner for me! Happy to see you are finally having some sun Jean.
I'm still not sure whats going on with this board so I better finish before I lose it again. Have a nice afternoon ..... Marijane
