Shopaholics ODAT - April 29th - Saturday

Hello shopping friends.  I hope your weekend is off to a good start.

I actually slept last night and don't have a sore throat (2 doses into my RX) so I'm sure off to a good start.

One thing about not feeling well - no desire to really shop for anything Woman LOL

Bernie--Thank you for starting the thread. I'm glad that you got more sleep last night. No shopping on your radar? Congrats upon that achievement.

meallen--Thank you for the great graphic; a good choice as usual.

We had badd storms last night and I was just beginning to sleep well when my niece sent me a text at 1:40am. Was it something that could not wait? No, but I think she was in an area just being affected by the storms and couldn't sleep so she was catching up on communications.

I went to the city today and got my hair cut and colored with highlights. The salon has relocated to another area of the city and is very well-designed. The owners of the former building in which the salon was housed would not permit needed updates so the salon found a new home. Afterwards, I stopped at Lowes and bought some planters and soil to finish planting my flowers and veggies from the Q.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - April 29th - Saturday

Good Afternoon/Evening and thanks for getting us started, Bernie.  So glad you are feeling better and got some sleep last night.  It was a pretty good sleeping night for me as well.  Another sign you weren't feeling well-- no desire to shop.  Probably not the worst side-effect, but....

Cute graphic, meallen.  Glad your weather is so nice.

Glad you are happy with the new salon location, Jean.  It sounds nice.  Happy you were able to have your hair done and go to Lowe's as well. I was reading in the local paper that you need to start taking tomato plants out in June here.  Our weather is just too hot and dry in the summer -- yikes.  Not sure that I'll try growing tomatoes this year, but maybe.

I went to the gym today, and then visited DH and fed him lunch.  He was in pretty good spirits, but I think he may have figured out that I'll be going away.  When I walked in (not late or anything), he said "where have you been?"  I would rather not publicize the trip dates due to possible fraud, but it is soon.  Meanwhile, DH's daughter will be coming for a short visit (Friday afternoon until early Sunday morning) in a few weeks.  That should be nice.

I'm doing the laundry, and getting things ready for my weekly financial review.  And, I'll be visiting DH again at dinnertime.

The husband of one of the other residents "hates" one of the caregivers, and it is pretty ugly between them (he threatened to hit her, etc.).  Today he told me that he told the director he would take his wife out of the facility if the caregiver was there.  I'm not sure how it will work out, and she is not my favorite caregiver.  But, I certainly don't have any issues with her, and I am sorry this man is being so nasty.

According to what I read this morning, the wild fire about 10 miles away has burned 46,000 acres, but is now 60 percent contained.  There are 800 firefighters putting it out.  Very fortunate that no one or structure has been burned.

Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

P.S. A lady at the gym (stranger) came up and complimented me on my time on the elliptical machine-- said that I must be in great shape.  Not really that great, but it was nice to hear.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - April 29th - Saturday

Just reading several days of posts.  We have had good driving conditions.  We only went 5 hours on Tuesday & ate at a nice Amish restaurant & saw several men discing, spreading & planting crops.  On Wednesday morning went to see the world's largest mail box, pitch fork, knitting needles, crochet hook, Dutch clog, pencil &  then got a Burger at Moonshine.

We stayed with our niece & family on Wednesday night.  Her DH did a nice cookout.

On Thursday we met our nephew for lunch in Paducha. He loves his job at the TV station there.

Yesterday was my DH's birthday, so we did the World's Largest Fish Fry in Paris,  TN & the rodeo last night.

We have been in  70's & 80's & have been to 4 nice parks/Beaches.  We did have a little bit of rain yesterday before we went to the fish fry & a little shower before the rodeo.

We have stayed at 3 nice state parks.

Hugs to all of you.
