Re: Shoes For Holiday Work Pary

@ECBG   The only issue with Vionic is I heard the vendor say to wear them only a few hours the first time and then increase the time daily until your feet/legs adjust to the change in position. I don't think being at a party ALL night is the time to try any new (not broken in yet) shoes. What do you think?

Casinos are not that bright so I'd go with comfort over style. People may not even notice your shoes, and if they do, you know your outfit is a winner!

@Shanus I thought she already wore vionics.  I wonder if each pair has to be broken in seperately?  Guess that would depend on the individual.Smiley Happy

@ECBG   I would assume sneakers, flats and sandals all fit differently. Maybe once you "master" the fit of each, they're  a "go" for that type.

@Shanus Do you think?  I have 0 experience with this problem nor this shoe.

@ECBG   I've never worn Vionics, but just hearing the podiatrist vendor discuss the orthotic inserts adjusting the arch, foot, calf, shin...I think he's right that it's not a "put on  for the day & go" shoe.

@Shanus I don't know.  My issue has been the metatarsal as I've aged.

I've trouble shot that alone (lace up shoes when I was in my 30's DIDN'T happen when I went to the podiatrist!).  I've gone my way with heeled sandals as a teacher, and coming from the town's largest shoe store, LOVED shoes!Smiley Happy

I had the same issue for grandsons wedding.  Found sparkly flats at Macys.  Nordstrom has cool shoes too.  I have worn sneakers to many affairs and changed when I got there.  Great for wearing home too.

Re: Shoes For Holiday Work Pary

Oh dear, @tsavorite. I will just send you a big GOOD LUCK. I was in a similar situation six months ago but fortunately with just one foot. Oh the pain!  Went through being In casts (twice) and finally surgery. It is an awful predicament and I cannot imagine having PF on both feet.

i did have a couple of occasions that were “dressier” and I went with ballet-type (soft) slippers. Regardless, it hurt.

Believe me, I tried everything. Do whatever you can do and again, best of luck to you.

[ Edited ]

What I would do is get something with a very low heel ...maybe an inch or so since flat shoes can be painful like pointy ones or high heels. I would get either a black velvet or something with some sparkle.  As long as the shoes are reasonably comfortable I would opt to get a pair of arch support inserts for them.

I recently purchased some Clarks shoes that are so cute and comfortable however there is no arch support.  I purchased Dr. Foot's Arch Support Insoles for Flat Feet Plantar Fasciitis on Amazon...they have many to choose from.  The ones that I got have an adhesive to the bottoms and only offer arch support ...it's not a whole foot bed.  It's made a huge difference in how the shoes feel!

Doing something like this gives you many more options.

ETA:  I just remembered that I have a pair of sequined black sneakers....that might be something fun and comfortable if you can find them.
