@sunshine45

if that's true then they need to change the description of the product. It quite clearly says ground oyster shells are in the fabric......

(I prefer the Apalachicola oysters to those found in the Chesapeake Bay) 😉

Chesapeake Bay steamers on the other hand are a different story! Yum

@hennypenny

Do you experience a reaction to mother of pearl?

I don't believe I've ever worn mother of pearl next to my skin.

??

There is no fish on the shirt and nothing ghat you could be allergic to. THere are shells which have been washed, treated, etc., Why would this be dangerous?

@ECBG , my thinking exactly.

What concerns me is that if this information isn't made clear to everyone they could be in real danger.

It really frightens me.

@hennypenny ........My mother was also deathly allergic to shellfish.  She would be violently ill if she even had a taste.  I had her ask in restaurants if the shellfish was fried in the same oil as french fries and other fried foods.  Most of the time they were.  She got so she never ordered anything deep fried for that reason.  I would NOT recommend you wear anything made of shellfish.

I've been noticing that some clothing presented on the Q is partly made of "other" fibers.  I absolutely will not buy/wear anything if I don't know exactly what it is made of.

I've also seen "other fibers" listed on the labels of clothing offered at Nordstrom's.

I couldn’t imagine what a shellfish thread was doing in the Fashion Forum. 🤔 Now I know. Interesting.
