Surprised and not surprised to see 7 for all on QVC. This brand was famous for years since 2000 anyway) It was the first of the premium jeans lines and yes, it was made in America. The popularity exploded after the royals began wearing 7 For All Mankind. And though they were expensive for that time, 7 became very big. The original company got sold to a much bigger company. 7 for all kept the name, but changed the denim and it moved overseas. The original owners of 7 started another American Made jean, Citizens of Humanity. I sort of still liked 7, but the denim became thinner. They began to add a lot of stretch to the denim. And while their rivals Hudson moved to Mexico, I think 7 went to China.
Anyway QVC has a line from them. They've kept the price to just under $100.00. (well more with shipping & tax) Interesting to see if they will sell. QVC traditionally had the pull up jeans with no fly, and elastic, tons of stretch etc. These are authentic jeans with front zipper and 5 pocket, etc. About 70% is cotton. So the ratio from denim & stretch is altered for jeans from QVC. The sizes are not showing waist size, but dress size. I remembered them being on the slim side, but it might have changed now that they are on QVC. They are recommending to size down. These are not QVC size.

I looked at them but no petites offered. I personally get tired of the size down business. NYDJ and recalled DG2 sometimes as well. I find I could not even pull the size smaller NYDJ up, but the normal size was great. They are also my favorite comfortable jeans and saving them for a overseas flight this summer to wear on the plane. Thank goodness Q has a free exchange, a good feature but no switching lengths like Petite to Regular.

7's are actually my fav jeans. I'm surprised. I didn't know all this, thought they were still made in LA. They make a more mature line called Jen 7. I like those too, although only have 1 pair bought several years ago.
Jean sizing runs all over the place. If the Q is going to carry a line, I wonder how their sizing will run. If I see the program on I'd watch, not sure that I'd buy though. I think being carried on QVC cheapens the line. Mmmmm, very interesting....
Jeans on their website run around $200, so if they are carrying a line closer to the $100 range, this would be equivalent to the Jen 7 line where the sizing runs 2-14 or so. 7's run by the waist size, 25-32 or so.

The average jean that you see (other then Gap & Old Navy) will be around $150.00 to $190.00. American made jeans command $200.00 and more. The prices in 7 are reflecting they are not American made but inflation. This is just one line from 7 sold to QVC. So sizes are different, but they are "real" jeans (compared to Denim & Co, etc that QVC normally runs) The original owner of 7 is now Citizens of Humanity. They average From $180.00 up to $270.00, QVC tag might "cheapen" the line, but older/retired women don't want to spend that kind of money on jeans.

They are just jeans. Nothing more, nothing less. Some women will like them and buy them; others won't. That's what happens in retail. This brand hasn't been aspirational in a long time.

The move to overseas enraged some people that they threaten to boycot. Their sales suffered. So did Hudson. Same situation.

Yes but all that was way back in the early 2000's and it's all irrelevant to the 2019 customer.

When I looked at the size chart, I would go down 2 sizes. I don't know why one of the main selling points is to go down a size. I just want to get my regular, consistent size in all of my clothing.

I saw the presentation this morning. Just like NYDJ, they were telling customers to size down.

I totally agree with you, there is nothing special about these jeans EXCEPT the price.....!!!! Some folks are blinded by brands I guess....And looking at the measurements on the size chart I would need my same size...I predict a lot of returns.....
Ill stick with my Westbound or Levi jeans from Dillards $39.99 ........or splurging Jones NY $70. I dont follow fads or brands that are trendy, I choose what looks good on my body type and look for good garment quality
