I enjoy estate jewelry... does that count?

The thought of wearing a used garment is repulsive to me.  I don't even want to visit such shops and handle the merchandise.  I do have a couple of high quality, gently used handbags I got in eBay.

LOL, I thought you were referring to second hands on watches.

Estate jewelry is just beautiful!  I believe you have an investment;  your items will appreciate in value.  Consigned clothing does not hold value unless you have an actual original design.

It's rare I buy consignment clothes.  I don't want to turn around and say "why does this look so "over laundered"?".

Of course "new with tags" may be just last year.

Formal wear is always a great find.

The best second hand stores for us have been in Naples, FL.  We decorated and supplemented our furnished condo there over the years with great finds from Goodwill, Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul stores.

Glass-topped table, marble frame, 6 wrought iron chairs from SA:

@jlkz  Good to know! I hope to spend some time in Naples next winter. It will be fun to treasure hunt.

Except for the occasional second hand bag ( Brighton, Hobo International, Mary Francis) I only buy Chicos jackets on Ebay ( never purchased anything that looked used). I've never paid more than 25% of retail.

There are several Hope Chest resale stores. They support Hope Hospice.  The largest one is actually north of Naples in Fort Myers.  The one in Naples is in The Crossings shopping plaza ( Tamiami, Rt. 41 ).  There are special weekday sales.  There are no returns, credit or exchanges on merchandise.  Ask at counter for delivery providers if needed.

Google search for other shops....some stores come and then are gone.  Biggest surprise we had last year was at one of the Goodwill stores: a small, chaotic, drab place transitioned into a much larger, well-organized, well lit place after expanding and reconstruction.

Sometimes you'll find a decor item and it's the " wrong " color.  I have used more spray cans of Rustoleum to change the color....my favorite shade is Hammered Copper as in the shells in the entertainment center:

All the items ( except the candle ) came from resale shops.

Much of my clothing is from second hand shops. It doesn't bother me that certain items have been worn before. If it looks nice and fits well what's the problem? Just wash the item, and it can be as good as new. I don't understand why used clothing seems repulsive to some. That person could be missing out on great deals.

@artisticsigh  I have shopped second hands most of my life .I let up a bit when covid came around, but after about 2 years went to Goodwill just recently I linger in the used book section -usually cookbooks because I fantasize that I am actually going to use the info Smiley Happy and make the terrific sounding recipe .

I am the shopper the 'guy' talks about in the commercial- cannot remember exact wordng -but donate and shop.

I  launder any item I purchase new or used. I rarely purchase dry cleanable items anyway. If you stop and look at the layout of clothing stores they have 'dressing rooms' . People have tried on new items . I guess they have been worn also.

I score lots of Q items that I missed over on ebay and usually they are new with tags. Lots of sellers there that buy pallets of Q's returns,2nds etc and offer them at great prices. That's my second hand stuff....but I do brake for a good looking yard/garage sale too.
