It's not just the American Sears store that is teetering on the edge. The Canadian Sears is also in trouble. Today they announced that they have doubts about them being able to continue as a going concern...basically they are running out of money.

I can't say I'm surprised because I'm not. They have been limping along for years and losing money too. There aren't very many Sears stores in the lower mainland area of Vancouver, B.C. and all the stores are in the suburbs. They bailed on downtown Vancouver several years ago. This department store has been on the decline for years. I won't really miss them when they are gone.

 

People have changed their shopping habits and no longer visit malls or department stores very much. They prefer to shop online just like in the U.S.

@TY  I'm sorry to read this.  At one time Sears and Roebuck was quite a big company.

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise
