JR certainly doesn't look healthy, but if she's happy at that weight and is not sick who am I to chastise her.

If it's "a control issue", what's going on in the step daughter's life?I too watch her reality show and the doc indeed said she needed to gain 5 lbs and she said she couldn't. I do feel sorry for anyone who thinks 5 lbs will really make such a difference in keeping a job. I have a sister that is a step parent and the child, who is now 13 will barely eat...its just terrible, she looks skelatal. They have taken her to see many specialists and the specialists say its a control issue. It is a tough situation for sure. Imagine if that 13 year old had Gulianna for a mom, its starts somewhere, When you watch all of the people on tv who are really really thin I think it is hard, JMO

Dare I say that nutritionist Joy Bauer seems too thin, too. She always seems to be counting calories, etc. Seems to me that a person can overdo it, especially when the person is thin enough. (Different when a person is 200 lbs. and probably needs to 'count' all calories, more or less.

I think it's easy to say this person is too skinny and needs to gain or that person is too fat and needs to lose but what is important is what the person's doctor thinks.
If she is within the healthy BMI range for height and weight and her doctor says she is healthy and she doesn't need to gain, then that's all that matters. Obviously if her doctor says she is underweight and he is advising her to gain weight and she is having health problems due to her being underweight then that is between her and her doctor.
I think that so many times people focus on appearances and how someone LOOKS when in fact health has nothing to do with that many times. It is really all about what the American Medical Assn. says is a healthy weight for you based on your height and body frame and whether your doctor thinks you are in good health and have good eating habits. Only Guiliana and her doctor knows what is going on with her weight and whether she is healthy or not and that is really how it should be. It is really no one's business. She may look too thin to us but if she is within a healthy BMI range and her doc says she's fine, then why should anyone comment on her weight?
Now if her doctor said she needs to gain 5 lbs. then she should heed his advice and work with him to gain that extra bit of weight to be more healthy.
SO MUCH of body weight and maintaining a normal body weight is being healthy. I think people forget that sometimes. You can be perfectly healthy and have a normal BMI and be thinner or heavier than what "most" people think you should be.

I am A big fan of Giuliani and Bill. They seem like such great down to earth people. I just love their show. Little Duke is just adorable.
My only comment is although her dress was a stunning dress. It was not flattering with her thin frame. She should have worn something that covered her chest more...just one woman's opinion. She is obviously secure in her own skin..so good for her!

She said her doctor told her to gain at least 5 pounds and she said no. This was before the breast cancer. Never have liked her since I heard he refer to her son as it. ""Let me talk to it"". Whoopie made the comment that if she wouldn't gain the 5 lbs then she shouldn't be a mom.

Huh? thin frame? just one woman's opinion....its hundreds of people's opinion....look at social media about this..its exploded.......thin frame? she's anorexic/bulemic looking.....there is a huge difference......secure in her own skin??? really? she feels she won't look good on television/Hollywood unless she's skeletal looking? That's certainly not secure in her own skin.......sorry but I totally disagree with you, mcogirl........

Yes, I do remember (more or less) what she said about gaining 5 lbs. She said something about her fashion image in the fashion industry, etc. All we can do is all of us wish her well, her very nice husband and beautiful baby. And, true, some people are naturally slim. Thinking of Audrey Hepburn right now.

She looks dangerously thin. It ages her face tremendously. If I was ever that thin, my doctor would be alarmed. The latest medical thinking is that it's better for overall survival to be a few pounds heavier (within a healthy range) as one gets older. I hope she's not sick. At any rate, she should gain some weight for her own good.
