I had a dress very similar to this when I was about 30, but it had short sleeves.  I was really thin at the time and and had a very flat stomach and very slim hips.  I could not wear this type of thing now, but I think it's very cute!

I had a long sleeve dress like this when I was in my 30s. Loved it with tall boots. The cable detail on mine was much smaller.

It would hang nice and smooth when wearing a taffeta type of fabric slip or slip shorts.  'Smooth and slinky'.
