Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT TIME (SATURDAY, JULY 29)

Hello everyone - Jean thanks for getting us started.  I so agree with you about diet and exercise.  There are things I think we all wish we could go back and tell our younger selves.  For the most part, the younger me got it right.  The two areas I would warn myself about would be to take better care of my teeth, and establish better habits in regards to eating in moderation and consistent exercise.  Once you've established poor habits, it's hard to change them around.  twinny - have a fun outing today.  meallen-  blessings to you as well!  Marijane - Halloween candy in the store?  The stores are sneaky and know that some people are going to buy it thinking it's for Halloween, but that they're going to gobble it all up right now.  And then they'll buy more and more and more.  Most people have some type of shopping weakness, as most of us here have shared.  I inadvertently know about falling leaves, as I forgot to water my potted redbud tree for a couple of days and it lost half of its leaves.  Oops.  bernie - how's Grayson?  Ever see Rocky any more?

I watered in the yard this morning.  My cherry tomatoes are very disappointing this year.  My heatwave (salad-sized) tomatoes are covered with promising green tomatoes.  They're just ripening later than usual.  Our grapes are perfect now.  I picked a couple of big pretty clusters and took them over to one of our neighbors.  She seemed happy.  I need to do more sharing because there's no way we can eat all of those grapes.  The rest of the day will be split between cleaning and paperwork.  Another enjoyable boring day.

Hope you're all having a pleasant Saturday!  ~  Charlene

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT TIME (SATURDAY, JULY 29)

meallen--Thank you for the lovely and appropriate graphic. I hope the weekend weather is great in your area.

Marijane--It is good that you escaped a big downpour. I haven't looked in the stores, but I have no doubt that behind the "back to school" supplies, there is Halloween candy lurking. I had some of the SG lustra knit pants a few years ago and liked them so I hope these turn out well.

Linda--You will like that cooler if you get it. I know you are dedicated to walking and I used to enjoy it at the track until some unsavory types began to hang out in that area. I'm glad that you and DH's DD got to visit with him before she left, and that DH seems to be doing better.

Bernie--Enjoy the fresh air and the lawn care while the temperatures are cooperating. Have the new shoes you ordered shipped? Anytime I see a stylish boot, I think of you.

Charlene--We take our weight for granted when you. The middle years hit, the metabolism slows down and we forget to weigh frequently so we wake up one morning and wonder why we let it happen. Carelessness is counterproductive to our health, so it becomes so much harder when we are older to change habits. Sorry about your cherry tomatoes, but good going on the grapes.

Hi everybody,

The weather today is just  beautiful, after a lttle rain this morning. Mid 70's, wish it would last for weeks!

Went food shopping and did a few chores around here until tomorrow. Just don't seem to have the energy I used to, I remember when my Mom used to say that! Thank you for asking.

meallen--It is great the weather cooperated to give you the right conditions to get some chores and grocery shopping done. Those chores sometimes are not the most enjoyable, so finding the energy to do them can be a challenge. When tired, there is always tomorrow.

Charlene @cerb  Grayson and my other birds are doing good.  It's possible Rocky is among the pigeons that come to eat.  Unless I take some pictures and study the striping or marking on him from last year, alot of them look alike, ha ha ha.

@KonaKat  Jean, I checked my mailbox and found the new blue suede boots in a box on the front porch.  Mind you I am sitting in my office upstairs, windows open, front of the house and didn't hear or see Fedex.  My doorbell is tempermental, sometimes it dings and something it doesn't.

The fit is good, color is beautiful and price (under $49) couldn't be beat.
