Good Morning! I decided to start a new thread, but want to make sure Susan sees the old one where we wished you a Happy Birthday.
Yesterday evening, we had a pretty strong thunderstorm which brought some much-needed rain. One crack of thunder was so loud that I jumped. LOL It was only 64 degrees and very cloudy when I got up this morning -- what a change. I decided that I could wait to start my walk until after I posted.
Nothing new or exciting here. I plan to go to the grocery stores after breakfast.
Waves to Barbara (I am praying for you), Bernie. Fressa, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone has a nice day, and please post if you have a chance.
Hugs,
Linda

Copying some posts from Fressa --
sydsgma1----I will keep you in my prayers that your relief to the pain is sooner than later.
I hope you like your KG picks. I have a few items of her line and like them. I seem to have am easier fit with the D&C line but both work. It's difficult to pass when there's a sale but.....
Hope you feel better soon.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUSAN!!!!
Hope you have a wonderful day and treat yourself!!!!
LindaLatte--Hope you are getting some much needed rest after your trip. It sounded wonderful!
Your weather temps sound awful. Ours have been in the low 90's with crazy humidity. It's been like this for weeks. UGH!! It could always be worse-.
I agree with you that I don't need any more clothes but once in a while......I think that I weakened more on the home goods than the clothing. I'm not sure it that's good or bad.LOL
I'll try to write again later. The nasty storm they predicted has arrived and the dogs don't do well with thunder.
Have a good afternoon/evening.

Thanks. Hope your weather improves, Fressa.

Good Afternoon! Sorry that I didn't have a chance to post yesterday. I visited one of my former hospice patients this morning, and she was confused (not unexpected since she is in the memory care part of the facility). But, I enjoyed the visit and she was smiling much of the time.
Later this afternoon, I am scheduled to have a Prolia (for bone density) shot. Despite assurances from the doctor's office. I am quite concerned that my insurance will not pay for the injection since they are not going through the specialty pharmacy as happened with my old (retired) doctor. This was enough to cause me to wake up very early this morning. Since I feel I really need the injection (two months late), I decided to go ahead, but ask how much it will cost if denied by the insurance company which usually pays 80% and my co-pay has been $185. Yikes!
It is warmer today, and may make it to 100 or so. Not much chance of rain today, but it may rain on Monday.
Hope you are feeling better today, Barbara. Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Have a nice evening.
Hugs,
Linda

good afternoon it's been a cool rainy day today. I have a sweater on and have been running the fireplace because it was only 65 in the living room when I got up of course I had a couple windows open and the wind and rain had created quite a bit of water on the sill. So I shut the window a bit and got a towel out. My windowsills are marble so rain doesn't bother them at all.
my frustration with my insurance and my doctor's office continues. They called this morning and said everything was good to go I received a call early afternoon, saying that a mistake had been made and no it was not good to go so my frustration level is so high, but I'm trying to work my way through it with calm stuff in my new panda drum
my doctor just refilled pain medication so I will use that as needed.
Linda desert rain storms are so wonderful. I love it. I always loved the creosote smell after rain

part 2. My bigger font disappeared.lol
Fresa, I have been happy with my KG pics, but I'm not keeping all of them because I have more than enough clothes. I did get a pretty lightweight summer sweater with sequins on the sleeves that I thought will be perfect for eating in the main dining room.
I am trying to be a true reformed shopaholic.😜
Happy belated birthday, Susan.
Bernie..are you cool also or hot. My dd in MPls said it is quite warm there.
my protest of the day is canceling my paramount + subscription.
Better days have to come.
sleep well ❤️❤️

I'm so sorry about your insurance issues, Barbara. I don't blame you for canceling that subscription.
I have never heard of a Panda drum -- hope that helps calm you.
The visit to have my Prolia shot went well -- they assured me that it had been approved by my insurance company, so fingers crossed that is the case. The doctor was extremely nice as were her assistants. She said that they would take care of getting approval before my next treatment in January, and I already have a visit scheduled plus some lab work (check my calcium levels) a couple of weeks before the treatment.
I can't tell you how happy I will be if all this goes without a hitch since I have many years of dealing with the insurance company with not much help from the doctor.
Your new sweater sounds pretty.
Hugs

You know it's a shame that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get the basic medical care we need. It's getting worse every year.
We're currently having the type of summer that I dislike - really hot and humid. We did get a break yesterday and I ran into my backyard in a sleeveless t-shirt when I woke up and checked my phone - it was 55 degrees outside and yes I wanted to run outside and feel a chill. It was a beautiful day with a high of 76 degrees. I worked outside for several hours and I got alot done. It felt good to give my A/C unit a break - it's been running nearly 24/7 for a month and I don't even keep the house that cold.
Right now (10 am) it's not too bad outside - severe storms are coming later though.

Good Evening! Glad you had at least one day with nice weather, Bernie. It is hot here, but not abnormally hot. My AC is getting a workout for sure.
The "caregivers" got together for an early lunch, and it was nice to see the whole gang for a change. One of our members and her DH had rented a condo at a beach in CA for a month, and really enjoyed it. But, the weather was very cool for the first couple of weeks. Another had gone on a trip to Chicago -- even shorter than mine, and we commiserated about travel these days.
I like the TSV shoes, but have not ordered since they are a bit pricey in my opinion, plus I have two pairs of that same style without the arch support and slip-in feature. I would prefer a different style. The free S&H is calling me, but I have not answered yet.
Laundry is done, and I have things ready for my weekly financial review. Still trying to declutter and clean.
Waves to Bernie, Barbara, Fressa, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.

Good Afternoon/Evening! Hope everyone has had a nice Sunday. It was cloudy and cooler on my walk this morning, which was very nice. It was sprinkling when I headed out to church, but stopped before I reached it. There is a possibility of rain later this afternoon and again tomorrow with a high of 90 degrees each day. Hot and dry weather should return by Thursday.
I didn't sleep well at all last night, and took a short nap after church. Headed to the gym soon. There is ironing and cooking to do when I get back.
Hope you are feeling better today, Barbara.

Good Evening! Difficult for me to believe, but it is only 59 degrees here. I know it is very hot in other parts of the country. It was cloudy when I started my walk, but no rain was expected until later in the day. I was about 25 minutes into my walk, when the rain started coming down hard enough that I decided to go back home. I walked back for about 10 minutes, and the rain stopped, so I walked some more.
We are having thunderstorms at the moment, but the rain isn't very heavy. At least it is nice and cool.
I visited my former hospice patient this morning, and the visit reinforced my belief that I could never be a nurse. She had a nasty skin tear, and two nurses came in to change her bandages, etc. They had given her pain medication an hour before, but she was crying out in pain. I stayed after the nurses left since we had not talked much before the nurses came, and she was her usual sweet self.
The Sheriff's Auxiliary was very quiet this afternoon, but it went fine.
Waves to Bernie, Barbara (hope you are feeling better), Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
