SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, NOV. 16)

Good evening, everyone. I just got in from a day at work. Tomorrow, I will be going for another physical therapy appointment at which time they will be re-evaluating me to determine amount of progress made. I assume this will be the report sent to the insurance company to determine what lies ahead in December.

It could be that my Christmas gift might be no more appointments in December. I do know that I see the spinal surgeon and back specialist in early December for an update. I don't anticipate any drastic steps considering how I feel right now. I may not have great flexibility right now but for the past two days I have had no pain.

Shopping? I picked up some groceries after the Monday physical therapy appointment. Today, when I turned on the Q, I saw the Laura Geller set of 12 eyeliners being presented. I have them in the cart but have not hit the "buy" button.

The holiday time is rapidly approaching, and I know for many people it is a special time for celebration with family and friends. For others, it is a time that can reinforce feelings of sadness from all the hype. I think it is important to remembr the reason for the holidays which is far more important than the number of people gathered together or what they are being served.

Have a great day and evening. If you shop, shop wisely.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, NOV. 16)

Good evening ladies, hope all is well.

Jean -  Than you for starting us today.  Hope your PT goes well tomorrow and you won't need anymore.  I was considering the LG eyeliners but talked myself out of them.  Inguess I just don't need that many different colors.

Not much going on here today, the dog has been sick all day so I have just been sitting around here all day with her.  I have decided she has irratible bowel problems.  Dumb me gave her some icecream  ( just a spoonful) the last couple nights and that may have done it.

Well I need to start supper, I know we are having fish but not sure what is going with it.

Hope everyone has a great evening.

Hi all - sorry I'm late today.  Work has been busy and productive.  I can't believe Thanksgiving is almost upon me.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, NOV. 16)

Afternoon all, Thanx @KonaKat for the start, good to hear your pain has lessened somewhat, hope you continue on that path.

@PAlady, sorry to hear your dog is sick, yes they do have tummy problems same as we humans, I give mine yougurt & she tolerates that well.

@Bird mama glad work is being productive, makes it easier to get thru the day.

Oh yes Thanksgiving is almost upon us, I've made my cranberry sauce, added a few drops of Grand Marnier, turned out quite good, it's in the freezer now.  I was out shopping for some of the items I need for that dinner, I like to do as much as possible ahead of time so the day itself is a bit hassle free.  I'll make the mashed potatoe's in a few days & put them in the freezer also, then into the slow cooker to heat up, a last minute thing that will be out of the way.   Thinking about make ahead gravy but not finding any turkey wings in the stores, will try again tomorrow.

Weather today sunny but cool, supposed to be 70ish tomorrow but then down to the 30's but we knew it was coming.  Have a few things yet to do in the yard, then that'll be it except for the leaves.

Wishing all a good evening

Essie

Hi all, sorry I'm late to post.

@PAlady, so sorry about your dog. Hope she is better soon.

Glad to know everyone else is holding their own.

Spent the day working with leaves, laundry, and sorting Christmas ornaments.

Still have to run to the store real quick.

Have a nice evening.

@PAlady

My dog Max (shepherd/boxer mix) used to get 'digestive upset' from the rear at the change of seasons.  Vet told me he had acute IBS - only flared up once in a while.  He prescribed Tylan powder to sprinkle on Max's food and that would clear it up.

Just wanted you to know they CAN get IBS - either acute or chronic :-)

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, NOV. 16)

Good Evening and thanks for getting us started, Jean.  Glad you haven't had any pain the past couple of days.  Hope PT goes well.  When I had PT after my accident, I ended up having two sessions (I think it was 16 total).  I just was not ready after the first sessions.  Fortunately, the insurance company did not object.

Sorry about your dog, Susan.

Waves to meallen, Essie, Bernie, snicks, and all of our posters and readers.

I am contemplating moving my IRA (not really an IRA, but a similar thing), and ended up having a lengthy discussion with my broker, financial advisers, etc. this morning.  I will probably be opening a new account on Friday.  That will involve going up to the broker's office (45 minute plus drive), which is not something I enjoy.  But, there is a Trader Joe's across the street, and I'm quite eager to go back there.

Made it in time to feed DH lunch and walk around with him.  He is doing very well, and the cut, etc. seem to be healing well.   I had my last foreign policy class this afternoon.  Some different opinions shared there -- interesting.

I plan to go to the gym tomorrow morning.  May spend a little time with the caregivers group and then go to my last British mysteries class.  Then, I'll be visiting DH after class, and hope the hospice nurse will be there as well.

Very busy for a retired person.

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda
