SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, JULY 10)

Good morning, shopping friends. It is  a beautiful sunny day and hopefully today will be like yesterday--no rain of any intensity. We are supposed to be up around 100 today, so I've been outside murdering weeds. They flourished with all the rain. The back yard is still very wet and spongy from the water.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday which went well except it ran very late. Before the appointment, I thought I would have a good lunch. My three favorite restaurants were parked full so I decided to go to one I hadn't frequented for a couple of years. I would have been better off eating at Burger King as a Whopper and service at BK is far better than what I got at this noted chain restaurant.

I  had planned to go to Lowes and Walmart after the doctor's appointment but because it ran so late, I just decided to go home as I was very tired. I went through the BK drive thru to get a Whopper to eat at home. It was so much better than what I had for lunch, and I had quick service. Gr-r-r-r!

I came in from attacking the weeds, turned on the TV and saw a beautiful Or Paz ring. The reviews were great but I have too many rings, which I now rarely wear. I used to be one of those who wore rings on all fingers.

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

@KonaKat   It's going to be 100 by you today?  Geez, I thought it was going to be hot here in NE Ohio......we're expecting 90!  I'm only a couple miles from Lake Erie, though, so no quite that hot by me.

I know what you mean about everything growing so fast.  Recently, most of the rain has been to the south of us, but we did have a lot of rain here before that.  I have some bushes on my enclosed patio (condo), and I literally have been trimming them twice a week!  It gets hot back there in the morning, and with the rain they are trying to take over my patio, but I'm determined to fight them off!

I have a 2:30 appt today with my retina specialist.  I may need to get another prednisone shot in my left eye, as I think it's getting inflamed again.  It's pretty fuzzy, and I'm losing my depth perception.  Thank goodness my right eye still works fine or I wouldn't be able to drive myself to get there!

Jean, I am glad that your appointment went well yesterday.  Too bad about not getting a good lunch out.  We have a good BK here.  We haven't had much rain for 2 weeks until last night when we went to bed.  We got a thunderstorm and got almost 5" of ☔ ☔☔. I enjoy the Or Paz shows, but I rarely see them.  Danny and Mary Beth are a perfect combination.  I am always tempted to buy a ring, but have resisted so far.

2blonde, it's supposed to be near 90 today & then by Sunday it will be in the 90's for at least a week.  I don't enjoy anything higher than 70°, so I am patiently waiting for fall.  I am so sorry to hear about your eye problem.  My mom had Macular degeneration in her good eye, so her later year's were a real struggle.  But then again, she was in her 90's.

Good Morning Jean @KonaKat

Even though we did get rain last week Tuesday when that crazy storm blew through and took out my power, it really didn't rain long.  The forecast for the next week includes hot weather and lower chances of rain (20%-40%).  I was looking at the grass at the base of the silver maple yesterday and it's yellowed and beginning to look a little bit like hay.

That made me nervous and I thought you spent and arm and part of a leg to have the tree structurally pruned.  Now is not the time to be worried about the water rates that go up every year anyways Woman Wink

As soon as I got up this morning at 7:30 I walked the hosemobile and oscillating sprinkler out front and started to water the front yard, section by section.

When I water, I tend to let it go for an hour per section so that the water gets deep into the ground.  I'm working on the skinny patch and the Alberta Spruce that's on the other side of my driveway.

Because the robins flocked to my front yard as the sprinkler was sprinkling, I'll probably water the backyard too.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, JULY 10)

It's been a whirl wind week again.  We had a great time with our ds and my niece and her family.  They have all gone back home, so it's kind of sad around here.

We took our ds to the bus station on Monday. Then we went to Kohl's and I bought two more skorts.  I love the other two that I bought a few weeks ago.  They are just above my knees.

Yesterday  we went to a nearby town and my DH bought a leaf blower. Then I took a much needed nap.

We are going to see our good little polka band this afternoon.  Right now my DH is getting his hearing aid repaired.

I have labs tomorrow morning early, then a bone density test, then a follow-up

appointment with my rheumatologist & GP.  Whew!  I like getting it done all the same day.

I walked yesterday and it was pleasantly cool.  Now it's hot so I won't be walking.

My exercise for a while will be going up and down the basement steps doing laundry and cleaning the house.  I like doing both of these things.

Hugs to all of you.

We got almost 5" of ☔☔☔ late last night.  It all sank in since we haven't had much rain in about 2 weeks.  I am surprised that you didn't get our thunderstorm from last night.  My DH collected the rain water.  My 🍅🍅🍅 plants love it.  I am sure that the robin's are enjoying the water as much as your lawn is.  Now we are in for at least a week or more of hot weather.  If I could go to Ak for the rest of the summer, I would.

@twinny70   I'm delighted to read that you had such a wonderful with your family over the weekend.  I don't own a leaf blower and every once in a while I think about buying one.  I usually run over leaves with the mower that has the bagger on it.  I suppose I vacuum mine Woman Very Happy

My DH mowes over the leaves sometimes too, but he likes to blow them to the street where they are picked up by the city.  He uses the leaf blower for getting the snow off of our driveway.  Easier and quicker than using a shovel.
