SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, JAN 29)

[ Edited ]

Good morning, shopping friends. It is a yucky looking day with snow showers expected in the southern end of the state. I live near the mid-Ohio Valley River area so we will not be affected.

I called the orthopedic and was able to get an appointment for next Monday. I was up since a little after 5am thanks to a series of four phone calls inviting me to work. I had already made plans for today, and needed a break so I turned them down. I will be going to the city.

I got an email alerting me to an upcoming delivery of a Peter Thomas Roth AD. I am far from getting the last one used up so I made a fast visit to the Q site to cancel the current shipment. That was $150 saved. I did order the Big Deal Skechers. I am wearing right now a similar pair I've had for two years. The Big Deal is Item number: A374494.

I did get in a half hour of exercise this morning but will take it easy the rest of the day. I'll get the ortho's opinion on Monday about what I am doing. It certainly hasn't helped with weight loss at this point.

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, JAN 29)

Good Morning Jean @KonaKat   The Skechers that you ordered are cute.

I find myself tempted by the Lock n Lock TSV.  I went over to the TSV forum to read the buzz about the set and some are saying that the savings isn't much when you compare the QVC regular price $33 to the TSV price plus S/H $5.50 ($32.75 total).

I think a more fair comparison would be QVC price $33 plus $5.50 ($38.50) S/H to TSV price $27.25 plus $5.50 S/H ($32.75).

As someone who recently went looking for larger freezer safe storage for her companion bird seed, I think the TSV price plus S/H is still a bargain if you are looking for the sizes they are offering Woman Very Happy

Good Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Jean.  I am sorry you got all those calls to work on a day that wasn't good for you, but happy they have you on the list.  Glad you were able to schedule the appointment for next Monday.  Like Bernie, I like the shoes you ordered.  Good idea not to get extra products you don't need at this time.

Interesting Bernie.  I thought the TSV was a very good value.  Like you, I have shopped for large containers, and they are pricey to say the least.  Although I am tempted, I am trying to resist ordering since I do not need any storage containers at this moment.

Hope you enjoy yours Fressa.

This is Fressa's message that she included on yesterday's thread.

Hi Everyone!

The internet was down in our area all day until now. Usually, I just go on and do another thing on my list but I'm still having some problems with a few of my prescriptions. Yesterday I spent the afternoon on the phone with the pharmacist, my insurance provider and emailing back and forth with the nurse an RN at the doctor's office. It's still unresolved.. These are my core medications so it isn't one of those you can skip for awhile.

I did cave and buy the TSV. I love Lock &Lock and find so many uses for it. I love the large sizes for storing pantry staples. The last big set I purchased I stored my laundry powders, etc. The laundry room seems to get so humid (even with a dehumidifier) that the soap powder was starting to clump. This solved my problem. (small fixes makes chores easier)

I see Garden specials on the horizon and am wondering how  I can improved the front garden by our porch. I'm a big fan of marble chips and containers .My hesitation is that t I've planted blulbs over the years out there and get some flowers to grow. I really don't want to dig that entire area up to start all over again. Decisions, decisions...LOL

It's overcast but still cool. We had some snow and ice this morning but it finally melted. Tomorrow I have to pick up one prescription so I'm crossing my fingers for no ice and some energy.

It never ceases to amaze me how little bits of money add into a "sum". My mother used to collect all of her change and stash it in old cookie jars. It was amazing what she had saved. We save our coins and deposit it in our Christmas club. A buck is a buck is what I'm always saying to the kids. It adds up fast.

Hope everyone has a good afternoon/evening.

It was chilly again this morning (in the 30's), but should make it into the 60's again today.  I had two OLLI classes earlier today -- Morocco and yoga.  I have several things I want to do this afternoon, and I hope that I get at least one accomplished.

DGD finally heard from her audiologist that her insurance will cover part of her hearing aids, so she has decided to go there rather than COSTCO since the price will be about the same.  But, she didn't get an appointment until late February.  Actually, he COSTCO appointment wasn't that much sooner.  I guess lots of people are looking into hearing aids these days.

Really hoping Charlene's husband is able to have his surgery sooner than they fear at this time since time is of the essence.  Continuing to pray for both of you.

Waves to all of our poster and readers.  Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

ETA -- I tried to change Monday to Wednesday on Jean's post, but it did not work.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, JAN 29)

Good evening, everyone! When I  am going without sleep and have a headache, might think any day is another. More likely, someone mentioned "Monday" on TV when I was composing the title so I just t yped what I heard. I am bad about that. At least I got the date right,

Shipping is what it is. I think the price of the TSV is reasonable. Shipping is based upon weight and size of the package. Compared to the shipping for smaller combos sold, I think the final price is reasonable. I am trying to clear out right now, so I don't need to add more until I see how something like that can be used.
