SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, DEC.15)

Hi Everyone!

FYI---Don't make the same mistake that I did this morning. Items (most) ordered are automatically going to "preparing for shipping" status and can not be cancelled even thru CS. The option is even missing from the auto message. There is no mention fo this change on line or on the auto system. I was so irritated at QVC and myself. Darn it.

It has cooled down a bit in temp and is cloudy today. My migraine has increased so I may not accomplish the gift card shopping and another prescription pick up. I have my hopes on tomorrow because the temps are forecasted to be in the cold range. Fingers crossed.

This week we finally have some of the does in our yard. It's always good to see them. They have carved new pathways thru all the tree debris and have a safe sleeping area.

I got the Christmas cards written yesterday and in the mail today. I usually write a note in each of them but this year I kept it short. I don't know how I got so far behind when I started early. I suspect too many projects at one time.Eventually, it will all get done but I'm on "holiday break" until the trees are in storage. LOL

i watched part of the gift show with MaryBeth this morning. Lots of tempting items which is how I made my ordering mistake. Good thing the dogs needed to go outside. By the time we get back inside I'm off to cleaning paws and giving dog cookies.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, DEC.15)

Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.

Fressa - Thank you for starting us today.  Sorry about the migraine, hope you feel better soon.  Our temps have been nice - in the 50's yesterday and today.  It is raining a little bit outside so the temps will probably dip some.  I have a small list of things to do for tomorrow morning and then I need to get back home and bake and do some cleaning.  I don't know where the time is going before Christmas.  Every year I swear I am going to be more organized with gift and preparing for Christmas and every year I fail.  Maybe next year.   I am trying to not order anymore from the Q this month.  I want to pay off my bill by the end of next month.  I have some returns being processed and I want a clean slate for January.

Not much exciting has been happening here, I can't seem to get focused on things I need to do.  So tomorrow I make the list and attack it.  We will see who wins.

Jean - Hope all is going well with you.

Linda - Hope the weather is still nice there, send some sun and heat this way.

Bernie - How are the birds doing?  Is Santa bring them presents?

Hope everyone has a great evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, DEC.15)

Very sorry you have a migraine, Fressa.  Have you tried the new medicine that they keep advertising on TV?  Every time I see it, I wonder if it would have helped me.  Unfortunately, my DD and DGD inherited my migraines.

I didn't realize that about the shipping.  Glad I didn't impulsively order anything.  I guess that the excuse is getting things to us by the 25th.  DD had a long talk with Amazon, and they agreed to send me a replacement gift this Sunday.  The representative kept asking if I had checked my mailbox, etc., but DD pointed out that it had been delivered to Las Vegas, and I live in Arizona.

Writing messages on Christmas cards does take time, but I feel like I need to do so for most of them.  I'm sure everyone will be fine with your slightly shorter messages.

Hi Susan.  No sun here today, unfortunately.  We had rain overnight and in the morning, and was still misting when I got home from the dentist.  That visit went fine by the way.  It is in the 50's and will go down to the 30's tonight.  I know that is warmer than many places, but feels chilly to me  especially due to the clouds and mist.

Good luck with tackling the things on your list.  I have gotten to the point where I'm okay with getting some things done rather than all of them.  That just seems to be impossible.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, DEC.15)

Fressa,

I am glad that I haven't ordered anything from the Q.  I did order the 2 pack socket/shelf from hsn & it got here in 9 days.  It's perfect in my bathroom as we have started using rechargeable tooth brushes.   Our weather is in the mid 60's today, but it will be sunny and in the 30's on Saturday.  I am still hoping for a White Christmas.   I don't get a lot of things done some days, but it usually gets done the next day.  I did call in a rx this morning and will pick it up when we do our grocery shopping tomorrow.

Susan, we are going to have Christmas lunch for my family on Saturday, so I am trying to keep the "train on the track.".  It's going to be pizza from our favorite pizza place.  All I have to do is put a bunch of garlic knots in the oven while my dh is picking up the pizza.  I am making a peach Jello/Mtn. Dew salad the night before.  On Friday, I am going to make a batch of brownies from a box and a few orange drop cookies.  I have cream puffs in the freezer.

Linda L, what a mess with your pkg going to Vegas.  We were in the 50's this morning when we went to the cheese factory.  Now it's 65°.

My colonoscopy prep on Monday night was awful.  I had a 7:00 appt yesterday and we got back home before noon.  I had one polyp removed and need to call the hospital to see when the Dr. wants to see me again.  After I told him that the port he put in was 11 years old, he said they are usually good for 10 years and I should get it replaced.

I couldn't wait to get back home and make potato soup for lunch & have a cup of coffee.   My only restriction for yesterday was not to eat  hot spicy greasy food.

Today I have no restrictions, so I went to our local Maurices & bought our dgd another top.  Her gifts are so much cheaper than the boy's gifts. Then we went to the cheese factory.  That's a must when we have get together's.

I got a sad email from my niece last night.  Their 20 year old dd whom just had a pace maker replaced is in the hospital with pneumonia.  She was taken to the ER & was told that she has fluid around the heart & was too sick to go back home & had to go to another hospital.  They were going to come up on Friday and go back home on Sunday.  Her name is Taven.

Hugs to all of you.

Glenda

Twinny70---So sorry to hear the news about your niece's dd. I will keep both of them in my thoughts and prayers.

Sounds like you had more than your share of meidcal prep and oddities for this year.My system can't deal with the "prep" "stuff" at all. It has a difficult time with normal food/drink. I'm always scratching my head that with the adancements in some medical areas and the "old approaches" in otheres. Hopefully, after all of this all the results will be good news.

Your menu sounds GREAT. I mention to my husband that I though the pizza idea was something that we should try. Our kids all work different shifts so that would certainly work better than attempting to catch them all at the same time.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, DEC.15)

PALady---I like your approach to starting Jan with a clean/zero slate. I have returns but I will wait until Jan to send them back to the Q. I figure that it might be easier to track them since they sent them in multiple packages. That stuff drives me crazy. LOL

This year I am the furthest behind in my cleaning than ever before. At this point I am becoming numb to it. My defualt will be to clean all the rooms that we'll be using for the holidays and forget about the rooms under constructiion. I couldn't get a donation pickup until after Christmas so I will need to find a new "spot" for all those items.

The weather is windy and warm today so not the best for the migraines. Rain is coming so maybe I'll get some relief with that storm. Tomorrow is to be cooler. I have errands and a lab appointment that are on the "to do" so my hopes are pinned on tomorrow.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, DEC.15)

LindaLatte---I've seen that ad about the migraines. My problem is complicated by the other prescriptions that I have to take and if they mix together in my system. ( I have about a dozen daily) It's a balancing act to say the least . My friends daughter has migraines like I have and ended up at the Mayo Clinic in clinical trials (three times). Long story short---they made it worse. Now the Mayo is trying to get her back to the point where she was when she first arrived at the clinic. It's been interesting comparing our situations. I think you're always learning and searching for info with a health problem. I'm encouraged that new medication is appearing in the marketplace. I never give up that relief will eventually happen.

That was something that your package was sent to the wrong state. I guess it's just lucky that they located it. I'm guessing that some of these companies just don't have the staff that they should. At least that's what I try to believe. Hopefully, you're see your package before the weekend. Fingers crossed.
