SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, DEC. 13)

Good morning, shopping friends. I'm not working today but that is fine as I have no desire to venture out in what was single digit temps when I crawled out of bed. I forgot to set the alarm as I knew I wasn't working and, as a result, I didn't get the trash put out.

I have no urge to buy the TSV. I have a more powerful Halo charger that I take with me as well as another brand. Both can recharge totally my tablet as well as cell if needed.

I saw an email from eBates promoting a really big rebate from some merchants. I immediately thought of Bernie as one of them was JCP. I deleted the email.  I really can't think of anything I need at this point but a possible air fryer keeps floating though my thoughts. I rarely wear gloves but I could have used them yesterday when cleaning off the car after the ice and snow hit. I have no idea where my gloves are, so perhaps that will be a purchase or the scarf and earbag set,

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, DEC. 13)

Good Morning, Ladies!!  It has been forever since I have posted, but have been reading faithfully.  It is absolutely freezing here in NYC - coldest day so far.  I am making my holiday trip to the cemeteries, as it is the only time my siblings can help with the wreaths, etc. for the graves.  My mother and grandmother always went for the holidays, and we have decided to continue the tradition, as long as we are able.  I am just about done with Christmas shopping, and for the first time, I have wrapped as I went along.  I have not stepped foot in a store, so it was all point and click for me.  Suffice it to say, my UPS and Post Office workers and I are good friends this year.

Jean, I had looked at the TSV, but like you have my other Halo which is more powerful.  I was on a mission for ear muffs and gloves this morning, and thank goodness found them, as I needed them when I headed to work at 7:30 AM.

Hoping you all have a wonderful day!!!!

Karen--It is so good to see you posting again.. You have been missed. It is a sad time of the year when we remember those who have died but who are not forgotten. I do hope the weather doesn't create too much of a problem with visiting the cemetaries.

Impulse buying? Beating the urge to buy is covered in this aticle.

One of my favorite techniques when dealing with an expensive purchase in addition to "Do I need this?" is asking myselff it I am willing to sub "x" days to pay for it  I also put things on the Q wish list and then weeks later ask myselff why did I want that as I had forgotten it

Good Morning ladies..

Does anybody hear from Funkyhulagirl? I know she took care of a lot of fur babies and I read where she fell and had surgery and rehab. I wonder if she ever got her furnace installed  I enjoyed her daily posts with her baking marathons.

Have a nice day everybody.. I think winter has arrived!

@CouponQueen. Arlene is currently undergoing physical therapy for the leg injury from the fall. Obviously, she  was concerned about going to the appointment when  the snow hit her area. She was just starting to be able to walk again. She is an eBay seller now, andd continues her baking. She does have heat now. I will let her know you inquired about her. Thanks for asking.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, DEC. 13)

Good Evening!  Thanks for getting us started, Jean.  Another day you would prefer our weather.  It is chilly in the mornings (40's) but warms up nicely.  I will need to check out the links a bit later.  No TSV for me either since I have the more powerful charger if I need to charge something when I am away from home.

Nice to see you posting, Karen.  My family always visited the cemeteries around Memorial Day, but I have seen pictures of wreathes on graves (like in Arlington Cemetery), and it is quite beautiful.  Hope the weather was not a problem.  Good for you getting your presents bought and wrapped.  I just started on my Christmas cards.  The only gifts I need to wrap are gift cards and little boxes of chocolate for DH's caregivers, and a few other small things.  I used to spend hours and hours wrapping gifts back when my daughter and grands were younger and my parents and brother were alive.

Glad to hear Arlene has heat now, Jean.  I knew about her therapy and eBay selling.  I think of her when I do some baking for others.  It is so kind of her to support our troops.

DH was very sleepy again today, and it was difficult to feed him -- he was leaning to one side.  But, the caregiver told me he was pretty talkative earlier in the morning, and he apologized when his foot hit her knee when they were putting him in the hoyer lift.  He is very polite, which is a good thing.  One of the other residents had another stroke and is on hospice now.  The hospice chaplain came in to see him and his wife showed up shortly after that.  The chaplain is a very nice person, and we chatted a bit.

I had an appointment to have my oil changed this afternoon, and they found a brake light that needed to be replaced, so the appointment took longer than expected.  And, they told me that my tires will need to be replaced in the next four to six months.  Yikes!  The tires are not that old, and I have not driven that many miles, but they told me that my driving short distances around town -- lots of turning, etc. wears tires much faster than straight highway driving.  I never knew that, but they told me that tires for the local sherrif's office only last a couple of years.

I need to get in some more exercise now.  Waves to all of our posters and readers.

Sleep well everyone!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY, DEC. 13)

Wow, did we get snow today.  Enough for management to say leave early (take laptop home and keep working, lol).  That was fine for me.  I was on a conference call and couldn't leave when everyone else did.  Commute took 2 hours and it wasn't even really bad then.  I think maybe 7 inches of snow.  Just finished working and making up travel time and finishing the workday about 15 minutes ago.  I don't know if me and the magic shovel are going out there tonight, lol.

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise
