Good Morning Ladies! Hope everyone had a nice Christmas. Mine was surprisingly good. First (and really important), DH was in a good mood and ate more than normal. And, the caregiver insisted that I have lunch as well. Tasted good. DH was leaning to one side pretty badly, but all-in-all he was great, and I was able to reach both of his children so he could talk to them.
My DD sent several pictures from their Christmas, and we had a nice talk. My grands sent nice text messages of thanks, and told me some of the things they are buying with their Amazon gift cards.
I was really tired from my cold and the cold medicine, so I got a slow start, and when I returned home from my visit with DH, I decided to take a nap and see if I felt well enough to go to the neighborhood dinner. Fortunately, the nap really helped, and the dinner was great. I met a couple of new neighbors, the food was great, and the weather was wonderful. Before dinner, we sat outside on the patio, and the weather was perfect (high 60's - 70's). When the sun went down, it was cool so we went inside. My pecan pie was a huge hit, and they ate about half of the apple cake. One of the ladies (actually the hostess) has been caring for her disabled husband for many years, and a different lady told me that I should let her know about my caregivers group. I mentioned it to her when I left, and she is interested.
No senior lunch program today, and I am feeling strange about not working on a Tuesday. I think I'll visit DH in the morning and go to the gym in the afternoon, but that might be reversed.
Sorry you had that white knuckle drive to your nieces house, Bernie. But, I'm glad you made it okay.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone has a nice day, and please post if you have a chance.
Hugs,
Linda

Hi ladies,
Had a nice day yesterday, everything went well. Hope you all enjoyed the day, whatever you celebrated! Today, this should be me,

Good morning ladies, hope all is well.
Linda - Thank you for starting is today, glad you and DH had a wonderful Christmas. I would have loved to had your weather. We had a couple of inches of snow in the morning, the wind was terrible blew pretty much all of it away. Not complaining about that. It may have been cold, but at least the roads were clear.
DH's family will be here for a couple days. We get together with his kids the day after Christmas, it just makes it easier for everyone.
I know I sound like a Grinch, but, I will be glad when this is all over. I must admit, I like peace and quiet at home.
Need to get a few things done before everyone gets here for supper. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a good day today.

Meallen - Sounds like you had an eventful Christmas.

Ahhh, the morning after, lol. It's my last day of the corporate holiday and I'm not stressing for anything or anyone :-)
It's pretty darn cold out there and on the breezy side. I slept in until around 8:30. I have a treat ritual with my birds every morning and was running late. Presto had no problem telling me all about it. After that I greeted the day with coffee and Perry Mason. Just ate a bowl of raisin bran - need to get back to the fiber and eating more responsibly.
My cold is hanging on, cough is productive. Not sure it's coming out of my lungs though - could be post nasal drip.
I love my family and had 3 consecutive days of visiting. Today, I want to be alone with my birds :-)
I need to make a run to Meijer's to pick up some groceries and more kleenex. I'm working from a list and doubt that I will be browsing for any post holiday sales. I want to get in and out and back to my warm house. Oh, that just triggered that I need some more soup. (runs and updates shopping list).

Linda--Thank you for starting the thread. It is great that you and DH had a good visit together and that he was doing better in some respecrts. The mentioning of pecan pie has made me hungry. Glad it was a hit
meallen--Thank you for the cute graphic; you must have had an enjoyable but exhausting day.
Susan--Our weather was somewhat like yours. I'm also glad that the big event is over but havve to admit the season beginning in July with Christmas in July did pass quicly but six months of it is a bit too much.
Bernie--Your description of your trip yesterday sounded a bit nerve wrecking Today is a good time to relax, enjoy your birds and watch TV. I do hope your cold gets better soon.
I didn't sleep well Christmas Eve so I was up at 3am nursing aching joints. The cold temps don't always agree with me. When I got up, I discovered the Internet was out. It was restored this morning. I also had a repeat nigh last nightt of not sleeping well, so that is two nights in a row
I did catch some of the Q's Christmas programming in which I saw Meredith Lawrence prepare different recipes. She almost motivated me to break out of my simple food prep. Other than that, I enjoyed some telephone calls.
Financially, I was given a great gift. I logged onto Bank of America to see the statement and saw that my TransIUnion FICO 8 score had been updated. It finally has joined the other two in reporting a FICO score of over 800. It had been holding steady at 798 for a few months.
Tomorrow, I'll be going to the city to meet a friend for a belated Christmas lunch at a restaurant. Friday, if weather permits, I'll be going to the capital city to meet another friend for a belated Christmas lunch at a restaurant there. We all eat simply at home but enjoy a good restaurant meal.
I need to get my car registration renewed and had planned to do that today, but with only 3 hours of sleep last night, I think I'll stay at home but stop on the way to the city tomorrow,

If I had bought the TSV in August when it was the TSV, I would be a little upset at the price today being $30 less than in August. Obviously, they are clearing it out with no intention to bring it back next year as a regular item.

Linda @LindaLatte I'm so glad your beloved was in a good mood and that you had a great Christmas visit with him.
