SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (Thursday)

Good Morning/Afternoon Ladies! Hope everyone is having a nice day. No TSV for me today -- no need for this type of top, and it isn't calling my name. I certainly am not a SG "hater", but lately I haven't purchased many of her things. Of course, I haven't been purchasing many clothes lately, thanks to some serious self talk and help from our thread, etc.

It is sunny, but cooler here today. We still should get into the mid 70's, which I'm sure is far warmer than many places.

The dryer will be delivered sometime between 11 and 3 today, which makes it pretty difficult to make many plans. If possible, I would like to go to the gym today.

Nothing else to report from here. What is happening in your world?

Waves to Jean (working today!), Kathleen, Arlene, twinny, Rosa, Susan, Marijane, LindaR, Sonya, Nancy, Karen, Gayle, Val, Kathy, and all of our posters and readers.

Have a good day everyone!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (Thursday)

Wet and windy here, but warm. We should be 70 as well before the day is done. Life is very quiet here, and it's a good thing. DH continues to have a positive outlook, though his last day will be tomorrow or Monday. I am looking forward to the weekend, more attending to the house.

I've not been buying as much lately either. My store has 50% off today and I don't even want anything. I have plenty of clothes. I wouldn't mind having some nicer shoes for work and walking, and I do want a new bag when I find it. Also thanks to our conversations here - I feel very positive about our financial status.

I'm meeting a sweet friend and mentor for lunch so about to head out the door.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (Thursday)

Good morning!

I do love the TSV, but not a need. so....

Cold and sunny here but after today the weather is going to warrm! Yeah

Pretty busy today at work, the time is flying.

Linda these delivery times do tie up your whole day.

I hope that everyone is well.

We are going to NC on Saturday with my SIL for her to buy a new dining room table and chairs. It is about a 1 1/2 hour drive and furniture is much cheaper in NC than here. I am relly looking forward to this, she is alot of fun and we will eat lunch at a great Mexican place.

Friday I will be taking care of some chores around the house.

Monday I have book club, we read Unbroken. It is an amazing story and true.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (Thursday)

Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.

LindaL - Thank you for starting us today, hope the dryer shows up early for you. No TSV for me either, I bought a SG shirt one time and it was nice for travel, but, it was too short for me in the waist. Needless to say it went in the donation pile. I haven't bought too many clothing items from the Q, I do not like paying the shipping charges to send them back when the sizing is not correct. Anymore, I go to the store so I can try the clothes on to see how they fit.

Kathleen - Good job on mindless shopping, I know what you mean when your favorite store has a sale and you just don't need anything. Have fun at lunch today.

Rosa - Have fun shopping in NC, enjoy your Mexican food.

Not much going on here today, got my hair cut and colored (now I look 10 years younger) and the dog will be getting a bath. I do have a bunch of cleaning to do here, that will have to wait until the weekend. When I start cleaning I like to have the whole day with no interruptions, I just seem to get more done that way. Well off to get some caffeine and get the dog bathed. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (Thursday)

I missed all of you gals yesterday. DH & I did have a nice day out & about. I was able to find a nice pair of 2" wedges that will look dressy as they are a soft metallic. I think they will be nice for Sunday's & also with a nice pair of capri's or skirts. I did have a $20 coupon off & a gift card so I didn't have t pay anything extra for them & I still have $8 left over. Maybe I should have searched for a matching bag, but after trying on probably 50 paris & liking 5 of them, I was exhausted. I also got a good deal at B&BW. I got 6 bottles of the liquid hand washes. They came to $20.21 with tax. I was down to my last one, so I was glad they were on sale & I also had a 20% off on them. Nothing ele tripped my trigger in the clothes line.

Jean I hope you get your new furnace today. You will surely appreciate it after waiting this long for it. We were sunny & cold yesterday & rainy & 40's today. They say we will have one day in the low 60's on Sunday, then back to the 40's. I loved your slogan from yesterday too.I am sure you will like the tSV shoes when they come.

Val, sorry about the broken arm & canceled trip. Hope you are felling better soon.

RC, I have always wondered how those spin mops work. It sounds like you do like yours. You are lucky to have wet windy & warm. I am praying that your DH does get the job he wants soon. Sometimes when we have to wait for what we want. it is all worth it in the end! This will also give you & DH some extra together time which is always good. Have fun at lunch.

LL, I love going to glass factories, but they seem far & few between any more. We did visit a very nice one many years ago in Pa, but I think it is no longer in existence. I can't seem to locate it anywhere. They always had such pretty stuff. I am glad the termite guy gave you a thumbs up too.

Rosa, snow & no school yesterday. I hope this ends soon. I did see where our last day of school here is June 6. I thought it would be later as we have had quite a few snow days around her too. Chinese YUM! YUM! I pray that your DH will soon get his kidney too. I know god's timing will good for you. It is nice that you do mange as nicely as you do with these different changes in your lives. I hope to hear your YELL here too.

Not much exciting here today. Dreary, cold & rainy. I am still waiting for some news in my very sick friend & our friend that got attacked by the pit bull last Saturday is having an awful time. His arm is so sore that he needs very strong pain meds & can't sleep at night. He also has fluid around one kneecap. that didn't show up at first. He doesn't get to see the specialist until next Tuesday, so I pray for some relief for him before that time.

Hugs to all of you.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (Thursday)

Linda. What kind of washer are you getting? Mine is 19 years old, so I will probably be looking for another one sooner or later. Hopefully later. I hope the delivery is done in a timely fashion too. I hate to wait for those kind of things. It seems like the whole day is shot.

Rosa, It sounds like a fun shopping day with your SIL. It is a bonus that she is fun to be with too.

Susan, Nothing like a great haircut & coloring. I love a day at the salon. I like to clean house, but I do a little each day. Otherwise I get too tired & cranky. I am with you that I don't like paying for s/h either. I did buy several things from SG a long time ago when they were affordable & a better selection.

Twinny: Several of us have the spin mop. I got mine on Amazon. I see them frequently on the shopping channels.

Oh those delivery times. I love it when they call me and they are still 40 minutes away and I have taken off work, etc. to meet them!.

Rosa: Sounds like a fun trip!

Yes, the friend that bought me the spin mop doesn't post here anymore. She is a Sweetie and loved hers so much that she sent me one too. I would have never paid that much for one but now I'm sold on them and love love love mine.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (Thursday)

I got a dryer rather than a washer twinny -- it is a regular type (not the fancy steam ones), and it is a Whirlpool gas model that got pretty good ratings. Thrilled to report they have already delivered and installed the dryer. Very sweet young delivery/install man.

Now DH and I can go to the gym, etc.

I do have lots of Susan Graver in my closet, but most of it was purchased a while ago. I'm waiting that a style of her pants comes back in, and I'll be purchasing them in black and maybe brown when they do. I think it was Val? who recommended the Milano knit pants, and I really like the blue ones I ordered.

After all the discussion of the spin mop on the thread, I bought one as well (Amazon). It does work very well, and it is kind of fun, which is not something I can normally say about a mop. LOL

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (Thursday)

RC, Does it require a lot of strength in your legs to use the spin mop? I looks easy on TV. I guess if I couldn't do it, my DH could. For probably the last 10 years, I have been using the Don Aslett micro fiber mop that attaches to a handle. It was a Godsend as I hadn't been able to wash floors for over 2 years.
