good afternoon I am trying to recover from my morning excursions to the courthouse to try to get my passport facilitated there's a fair amount of walking involved and for some reason my body gave out about halfway through . I got the papers that I needed to fill out again and will bring all that stuff back tomorrow morning while I still have energy.
I am finding that I feel physically feel better, but my endurance is still questionable. I talked to my sweet sister-in-law yesterday and explained to her what is going on with me. Fortunately, she understood and she said if I can't do a big planned adventure they are going revise it for me
I am debating the TSP for today. I have a couple of jean jackets that are good but my dark blue one is pretty worn. I like the rust color so I will sit here and contemplate it for a while longer.
They're supposed to have a storm today. It was nice when I got up but as this afternoon progressed the humidity has come back so I have my air on set at 77 which is enough to get rid of the humid air for a while.
Nothing else too exciting in my life. I have some good books loaded on my Kindle so I do like to read for a little bit
I hope everyone is having a great day
😍😍

Good Afternoon/Evening! Hope you are able to finish the job at the courthouse tomorrow, Barbara. Also hope your endurance improves. Glad your SIL is able to help if you need to change your plans.
I really like the TSV, but I very, very rarely wear jean jackets. It seems like it is always either too hot or too cold to wear one. I have three which is plenty for me. But, the TSV has been calling my name, and I like the rust color too. Enjoy your reading. Since I have more free time these days, I have been reading more on my Kindle, and enjoy it very much.
I was feeling a little sad this morning since I visited my late hospice patient on Monday mornings. At least I was able to visit last week, and I know she is in peace.
The Sheriff's Auxiliary was pretty slow, but I did have a couple of walk-ins and a few calls. My sweet neighbor who is so helpful came in to pick up some booklets for packages she uses when she meets newcomers to the neighborhood. We had a nice chat.
Our weather wasn't too bad when I took my walk this morning. Now is it 100 degrees and a bit cloudy.
Waves to Barbara, Fressa, Bernie, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda

Linda @LindaLatte I'm sure that you were a comfort to your hospice patient. May she rest in peace.

It's been hot, humid and ugly (as far as I'm concerned) outside in my part of the world. We had a significant rain yesterday 2 to 3 inches fell in a 45 minute period. I wasn't surprised when I heard the water alarm near the furnace start to sound off. That things been down there since September 2021 and frankly I was suprised the batteries were still working. I knew with all of the rain that my basement was going to flood and I was grateful that the water was coming out of the storm/ground water drain and not the sewer drain.
I have people next door and across the street who refuse to clean off their sewer grates so my street looked like a lake in short time. Folks in SUVs and pick up trucks take my flooded street as a challenge even though the water was covering the wheels on their vehicles. They created waves that caused the street water to overcome the berm between the sidewalk and street as well as the sidewalk itself. Hot mess.
Anyway a huge squirrel nest in the lady next door's front yard tree got washed out and it lay on the berm between the sidewalk and street. Drivers of the street created waves that washed that nest in my direction all the way up my driveway to where it stayed dry after the first wave. I mopped up the basement for a couple of hours and then something told me to check the nest before putting anything in the lawn waste bag.
The saga is described in the July Bird's Nest - there were 3 newborn baby squirrels in the nest. Yes I removed them from the nest, kept them water on a heating pad and successfully reunited them with their Mom and it all ended well. I have pictures of the triplets in the Bird's Nest thread.
I'm getting old, lol. When I saw those naked blind babies in the nest my anxiety through the roof. I have no experience with baby mammals like that although I did help to raise an abandoned kitten that was still in it's birth sac when I was a teenager. His name was Joey and he lived a long life with us.
I was up early this morning and I mopped up every inch of that basement floor with hot water and clorox. The mop was steaming as I moved it across the floor and I changed the water repeatedly. At least the floor has been disinfected - you never know what's it ground water.

Wow, that is quite a story, Bernie. Amazing amount of rain, so I guess the basement flooding was predictable. But, a lot of work to mop up and sanitize. As far as I know, homes in this part of Arizona do not have basements. But, I remember flooding after rains in my parents house as well as the houses I owned in Maryland.
Those were certainly some lucky squirrels. Glad they are back with their Mom.
The senior lunch program went well except there was a lack/shortage of some of the menu items -- like bananas for dessert (none). Fortunately, the director was able to get some fruit cups from a different part of the complex, but the graham crackers and dinner rolls ran out.
It was pretty hot on my walk this morning, and it made it up to 102 degrees this afternoon. Looks like we are in for 100 degree plus temperatures for at least the next week. Oh well......
Waves to Bernie, Barbara, Fressa, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda
