Greetings, shopping friends. It is amazing how quickly this month has passed; I just wish it had been under more pleasant circumstances. I went to the city yester day to have the MRI done.
People were waiting in cars for the person having an appointment in the complex. I was grilled by a guard when I entered, and again when I checked in at the desk...and then again when the technician greeted me. This virus has certainly changed the way we do things. We all remember 9/11 and the changes it made in our life I heard in passing that the death rate from the virus in the U.S. is now higher than that of 9/11. True or not, I didn't hear the sourc.e.
It seems unreal that I have been home since the last day I subbed on March 13 when the word was issued that school was done for an indefinite period of time. One week later, the "stay at home" order was issued so I am now into the second week.
For any of you just beginning this, it helps to have a schedule or list of things to do during the day. I don't see myself venturing out unless the drugstore calls, or going to the Post Office once a week to get my mail.
I was doing odds and ends around the house when I decided to take a break and discovered I had missed part of Denim & Co. I did receive my D&C jacket in sand. It fits well, so it will be used. The current situation has motivated me to watch carefully what I am buying.
I hope each of you has a great day. Think positively and control those things you can control. Be safe and if you shop, shop wisely.

Hi Everyone!
Strange weather for this week. The rain has let up a bit. FINALLY!!! We had some strong winds yesterday and a few smaller branches landed in the side yard. (that is next to the woods so not a rush to clear a path over there) The ground in the dogs area is trying to dry in spots so I have my fingers crossed that it continues.
I was considering doing some grocery shopping today but decided that I'll call my dil. I fell when I had the dogs outside this am for potty. (over my boot lace) Honestly, I was not in the line for grace and poise. Fortunately, we have a rug out there so I only got brusied on my side and hand, I did not break my glasses and my knee held. I figure I better take it easy today because that was my activity for today. LOL
Yesterday and today I have been seeing mixed reports on the wearing of masks, etc. I'm not sure what to believe but assume that they "professionals" are learning along with us on how this virus wants to behave. I'd rather error on the side of caution than not . My friend has been using the "senior hours" for all of her grocery shopping and errands and has been pleased. She did say that the grocery shopping of "curbside pickup" at our large store has a week long wait period. They have hired extra help from the two restaurants in the area that have reduced staff. Good to hear that stores are helphing stores.
I haven't seen too much QVC unless I catch a rebroadcast late at night. My budget is thanking me. ha ha!! I know that I'll find tops once I finish that spare room and fill the storage cubes. I did receive the Spring L L Bean catalogue and they had some tempting t shirts and light knit sweathers that caught my eye. I put that on the stack in the back room so I forget about it. LOL
Glad to hear that everyone is still able to keep some appointments and tasks. It makes it a bit normal. Stay safe and comfy.
Have a good afternoon/evening.

Good Morning/Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Jean. When do you think you will hear about your MRI results? I'm not surprised about the increased vigilance at your medical facility. Hopefully, the "social distancing" will help reduce the spread of the virus.
Sorry about your fall, Fressa. Good idea to let your DIL take care of your grocery shopping. Hope you won't be too sore.
Like many people, my life has totally changed due to the virus. I really, really miss my usual activities, but fortunately I am still receiving my pension so I am not dealing with the added economic stress many are suffering.
Our governor has issued a stay at home order starting this evening. I know that will put even more people out of work. I am praying for them, and all those affected by the virus.
I hope Susan's husband will be able to get some help soon. It must be horrible for them to be separated at this time.
According to the tracking information, I should be receiving my D&Co. jacket on Friday. That is fast for Arizona particularly since it is coming from PA. Some orders come from California, and they reach here faster. Glad you like yours, Jean.
I can't say that I am setting a schedule for each day, but I am trying to rotate my home exercises -- yesterday strong bones and today I plan to do another Leslie Sansone video. Looking forward to my daily walk this afternoon. They are predicting highs in the low 80's today, which is great in my opinion.
The reduced prices have gone back up -- I noticed that with my "wishlist" items. Since I really don't need any more clothing, etc., I don't feel bad about the change.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone stays safe and has a nice day!
Hugs,
Linda

Fressa--Sorry about the Fall. I hope tomorrow that you don't have more bruises or pain. Sometimes, it takes time to develop. Be vigilant. I haven't done any of the senior hour shopping yet but I do think it is a great feature to let seniors shop before the crowd ar rives. Of course, I live in an area of a high percentage of seniors.
Linda--I hope your stay at home order has a smooth implementation; it isn't easy at first but does take personal adjustment which some choose to ignore. I know the Maryland governor has changed his order to include possible fines of up to $5,000. I hope you enjoy your jacket. I hadn't checked back on its pricing.
I'm getting ready to watch our governor's press conference for the daily update. Afterwards, I'll retreat and read to escape from reality. The problem is that I've been reading apocalyptic novels prior to this outbreak. Now, we may be living the start of one of those books.

Jean @KonaKat I'm so glad to read that the MRI went as well as it did given the circumstances. It's also good to read that your new jacket is a winner.

OOh @Fressa I'm sorry to read that you fell down. I think you deserve to rest for the remainder of the day.

Linda @LindaLatte You're doing a great job with keeping up your fitness considering the circumstances (closures).

Jean. I also can't believe that tomorrow April will be here. This whole year has been like a blur. We started our self quarantine on March 14th & It's gone pretty good so far. We are pretty much on our same routine except for not going to the gym M-F. My DH walks most days and I do it when I feel like it. Our two weeks of spring cleaning was my exercise and then some, but it looks so nice and neat.
Fressa, it sounds like you took a nasty tumble. Its a good idea that you are having your dil do your grocery shopping for you. Yesterday was so sunny and windy. Today is all clouds. We haven't used the senior citizens shopping hours, but in stead of doing our grocery shopping on Fridays, we have changed to earlier on Thursday morning. It's been great. Very few people in the stores and last Thursday the shelves were better stocked
Linda L, I am sure that your schedule has changed quite a bit since you have been so active. It's good that your pension is still coming. My dh's is too & I never thought about that changing our lives. One less thing to worry about. I haven't watched the Q for so long that I can't remember when I actually watched a complete show.
Hugs to all of you.

Bird Mama, I was thinking about you this morning when I was getting dressed. I put on a pair of knit stirrup pants and the label is St. John's Bay. They are so old, but so comfy when I am crawling around in the house. I got them from the Salvation Army 2nd hand store for $8.00 w tags still on them probably 16 years ago. I still love stirrup pants and would love to buy a lot more of them. I got rid of two other pairs a few years. They were so nice to tuck into my boots.
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day. We went down to city hall and did our early ballot box voting done. Then I did my walk around the square. It was sad to see almost everything closed except for several curbside restaurants open.
it's cloudy today. I am !looking forward to seeing the 🌞🌞🌞 on Thursday.
We live in a quiet area, but it's almost eeriely quiet. My DH walked this morning and said that he saw 3 dog walkers, but no cars.
I started to make the shade for my bathroom window this morning, but I want to wait to sew it until Thursday when I have a lot of a 🌞🌞🌞.
I am going to soon be making pizza for dinner. Yesterday, I made blueberry muffins which we had for breakfast this morning. We have enough left for several more breakfasts, but I will have to freeze a few of them.
Right now the thing that I miss the most is a good breakfast out and friends popping in. We don't even see our neighbors out and about. That's actually a good thing. I do talk to a few of them by phone (which reminds me that my new Trac Phone from HSN) should be here any day.
We just got out of the hot tub & my DH is sleeping. As soon as I turn the radio on, he is out like a 🚼🚼🚼.
