Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY, JULY 1)

Jean, problem is, I DO have a deadline...but the heat index is 108° - I need to take a swim break. It's too hot to take the girls out; the car has AC, but the park doesn't!

I have some pasta on for lunch, and will be trying a Bolognese sauce I got at Trader Joe's - after that...pool here I come! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY, JULY 1)

Hi ladies! So glad you had a good appt Jean and that things are under control so far. Our local supermarket is outrageously priced as well. I try to avoid it at all costs but of course I end up shopping there.

Linda, I'm jealous that you have a concert to go to. I bet it will be wonderful. I'm not sure what we will do to celebrate, but our Marine will be at Mom's so we will go visit and out to eat I'm sure.

Twinny what are you looking for at the fabric store? Do you sew? I have a sewing machine and I use it so seldom that I'm always afraid to fiddle with it. It's a shame really.

I am waiting for DD and her Sweetie and his nephew. They are coming out to go to supper with me and maybe spend the night. She had taken time off because her bestie was coming from Houston and ended up canceling. She is going to take her bike home and wanted to transport it herself. I wouldn't want to touch it for fear of getting a greasy fingerprint on it (sarcastic ha ha).

LindaL: Count me in also on the military band concert. Went to one a few years ago---enjoyed it immensely. Not well attended--perhaps that is why it wasn't repeated. Their loss as they were great.

Kathleen: Oh always nice to have guests!!!

Twinny: Worked across the street from Joanns a few years ago---loved to go in and touch all the fabrics and look at the beautiful colors. I don't have a sewing machine currently--thinking about it but haven't made the move yet.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY, JULY 1)

RC, Yes I do sew, but it has been difficult for me these past almost 13 years. My fingers are numb so it is hard to cut large pattern pieces & pinning is also hard, so my DD did get me a set of really nice magnets from Nancy's Notions a long time ago. I was looking for some nice fabric to make a couple of skirts, but since the new part of the store isn't open yet, the older store had sold out of a lot of their fabric. They did say they will be opening the new enlarged store July 25. I do have a nice machine, but lately it has been mostly used for mending clothes for my DH. It also sounds like you all have nice family time. That is funny about not getting finger prints on the bike.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY, JULY 1)

Linda R, I like to touch & look at all of the different fabrics too. I really do dislike CIJ. It wouldn't be so bad if it was once in July & then no more until after Thanksgiving, but every month is just waaaaaaaaay too much IMHO. Fall is my favorite time of year so I do like to enjoy each occasion as it comes along. I do remember when CIJ was on the 25th day, followed by August 25, followed by Sept 25, followed by Oct. 25, & Nov. 25. I was always glad when the Nov, 25th show was over with.

Oh, it is raining again. It has cooled off lovely, so I guess I can take a little more rain.
