Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY, AUGUST 25)

Oh my goodness!  HOT HOT HOT!  Went for a walk with no sweat soaking material on hand or a water.  Will have to bring my sweatbands from home.  The dog seems happy walking though, and threw the ball a bit for her too.  I shopped all morning, had a blast mostly just looked but I found 2 favorite products at a Randalls store (one flavor Acai Raspberry Sobe, the only one I like is very hard to find).  Did a happy dance.  Returned my last order to Lane Bryant. Looked at some bluetooth speakers, I think I've settled on a $50 one or a $70 one.  Have not purchased yet.  Not sure about our address here - we only have a spot for a month.  They will have to find us another spot or we will have to go to the competition.  I'm sure it will work out.

What else did I do?  Oh!  Got 9K steps in so far!  Which was part of the purpose of shopping.  Am about to curl my hair for the second time. The heat is pretty standard - moved here the hottest time of year so I will try not to whine any more about that.

We got some rain around noon - a good hard rain and I was able to open the door and turn off the AC for a while.  It cooled down 20 degrees!

Linda, thanks for starting us.  I hope the lunch program went well.

Susan, what kind of cookies are you NOT eating? I saw a $15 cake pan set that would make a 5 layer smaller cake out of 1 mix.  I wanted it, but I want a Jeep more so I did not buy.

Snicks, I'm glad you and the dog are taking life easy.  We could learn some lessons from our dogs, no?

Still getting used to this laptop.  I'm typing and the cursor jumps around so I will catch myself typing int he middle of something I already started and ended.  Hope this makes sense when I'm done.

Bernie, I hope work continues to go well and that feeling doesn't come around every day.  I'm so excited to have my Jeep but in all honesty it is likely a couple years down the road.  We'll see.  It makes me feel good to not spend though - and THAT is a new thing!  lol

Charlene, we have always named vehicles (I've named several friends vehicles lol) and some other things, some purses, vacuum cleaner, anything "special".  My guitar has a name.  I SO agree about forgiveness and boudaries.  One of my friends calls it "emotional honesty" instead of "boundaries" and that has worked well for me.  I have to be honest with my Lovey's - and others.  It's part of having a healthy relationship.

Rosa I hope the computers come up soon. I know how awful that can be!  I'M getting excited for your trip too!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY, AUGUST 25)

I took Kyanne to the vet.  She needed her yearly exam and rabies shot.  Really liked the vet, and they worked with me.  I had to skp a couple things - and she doesn't need heartworm pills for several months.  So we will go back then.  Waiting on DH to come home.  I got the RV starting to look like a home again.  Livable for sure. All my favorite things, and I brought REAL plates this time.  Our plastic ones too but so far too stingy to buy paper plates.

[ Edited ]

I tend to name the cars I own, which have not been many.  I called my Dad's old Dodge Polara, the Gray Ghost.

My first car was a 1984 Renault Alliance - Candy.  She was the color of a candied apple.

I leased from 1992 until 2008.  I don't remember naming those.

Cricket was so obvious because of the chirping noise.

My Versa hatchback I call Vespa or the Barbie mobile (lol).

I don't know why I call it Vespa - it's arctic blue with a beige interior and the color combo looks Barbie to me.

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise
