Hi Everyone!
It's sunny with no rain in the forecast for today. Highs in the 80's so a relief from the last few days. The township is out on all the roads around us digging and scraping . I'm not sure if I want to venture thru all that for groceries.
I did order the TSV and flannel shirt for Christmas presents for our DIL. She loves football and hockey. Marybeth was on and gave some excellent details about the sizing so I hope I got it right. Holiday return policy is in effect for the TSV. (not sure about the other items) but that gave me an option. Last year I searched like crazy for a certain football jersey that she wanted and was in "sticker shock".LOL
I'm behind on most things lately between the allergies and migraines so I'm just waiting for the weather conditions to flip over. Keeping those in need in my thoughts and prayers.
I finally received the "lost" credit card statement (resend) yesterday. I had my receipts from most of the purchases in the bill file but it was good to have an official copy. They attached a letter stating their new policy. Honestly..you just have to shake your head with "once in a lifetime credit courtesy. for lost statements. I'm trying not to think about where the original statement is. I only have the dog treats on this card now so it will be easy to monitor. What a mess.
Have a good afternoon/evening.

I know @Fressa don't you just love how they act like they are doing you the biggest favor in the world by reissuing a statement to you?
I mentioned last month that my homeowners reduces annual policy cost when you upgrade furnace/AC. Now, I did it before the renewal effective end of September 2021 and forgot to mention it until this years renewal (starts end of this month 2022).
Called agent was told you need to send us the receipt proving payment. Scanned and sent receipt showing who did the work, each model/serial number per component and paid in full. It's been over 3 weeks and no new policy arrived with price of $100 less for the year.
Agent calls today - State Farm used to use the receipt, now they want installer to fill out form. I said, are you kidding me? I have a permit publicly available on BSA online. I have two inspectors approval publicly available on BSA online and I gave you the unedited receipt. Do you think I would have handed over $9 K and invited two guys in my house for inspections if I didn't have a furnace and A/C installed and inspected?
So I gave the heating and cooling folks a headup, waited for State Farm to send it to me, sent it to HVAC, got it back and then sent it to agent.
Over 20 years with this insurance and they got me thinking I need to look around and see my other options. The logical side of me (Virgo) will kick in after the irritated side of me (Leo) calms down.

Birdmama---I'm a Virgo also. No wonder our temperments are the same. Today is my birthday. YIPPEE! I'm enjoying the peace and quiet.
We have State Farm as well---more years than I can remember. When we had the microburst storm and hurrican winds they paid for one tree out of 12!!!! REALLY!!! They actuall counted the shingles on the roof with a drone and gave us a check for $140! Honestly---I could not find 14 shingle at Home Deport for $140. This year when we had the new roof put on they found all kinds of storm damage especially around the chimney. (that explains the crackes in the plaster ceiling around the fireplace. I guess I still need more tie to calm down about that "claim".
I wonder if you actually should carry insurance if they aren't paying out? My fear is if there was a natural disaster would you end up on the short end of that situation? Seems like some of the flood victims did the last few years. (not that they got reimbursed any reasonable amount)
I'll end my insurance rant now.

Good Afternoon/Evening and thanks for getting us started, Fressa. Happy Birthday!
I really like the TSV, and the price seems reasonable. But, I didn't order since I have fallen out of love with my team (Washington). I'm not saying that I won't change my mind, but everything just seems so messy with the team at this point.
Hope your DIL loves the TSV and the flannel shirt. I heard about the sizing, and decided that I would size up to medium if I ordered since I like my sweatshirts a bit roomy.
Glad it isn't as hot there. What can I say about the lost statement and the once in a lifetime credit -- nothing nice for sure.
What a story about your insurance, Bernie. I had State Farm for years, but switched to a different company for my last house in Maryland (long story). A tree fell on the house (while I was out in Arizona), and I was told that they would pay to have the tree removed from the roof and any shingles that were harmed, but not for doing anything with the tree (like pay to have it cut up or move it). They also told me that I would have to pay my deductible (it was $1,000) and they would only pay any extras. Also, they told me that my insurance rates would go up if I even filed a claim. Long story short, I found someone who did the job (including cutting up and taking away the tree) for a reasonable price. I didn't file a claim and told them to forget the call. Now I am back with State Farm, but I haven't had any claims. Hopefully, they will treat me better than you have been treated.
I have some wonderful news -- my internet is back and working fine. The cable company kept texting and calling me making sure that I still wanted the tech to come (at least 5 texts), which made me think that they were hoping that I would not want to keep the appointment.
Fortunately, the tech they sent was wonderful. Very nice and understanding. What I went through on Tuesday was enough to put me over the edge. The worst part was the last person who I spoke with who just didn't seem to understand the issue, and wanted me to go out and get the serial number off my cable box (at 9:30 p.m.) I believe she was in another country, and there was definitely a communications problem. Anyway, the tech who came fixed things that should have been fixed years ago (like updating the wiring in the cable box and taking away the split in my coax cable). He also took away the old modem rather than having me go to UPS to return it (they didn't provide a label and told me just to take it to UPS and tell them it was a return to the cable company.)
And, Keurig came through with a new machine today. Also, I received the IM top that I ordered last Saturday. Things are really looking up.
I have finished the hospice mailings, but the supplies are not ready. Hopefully, they will be soon.
Have a nice evening everyone.
Hugs,
Linda

Funny you should say that about State Farm @Fressa I told the agent's right hand who was on the phone with me that if the company was going to act like this over a $100 discount once per year I wonder what they would do if I ever filed a homeowners claim.
I'm too scared to go uninsured but I'm not too scared to check out other companies.

@LindaLatte Linda I am glad your new Keurig arrived and that your technology issues are resolved. I used to have a $500 deductible until State Farm got rid of it and forced me into the $1,000 deductible. My agent said if anything ever happens just call me. I said, I'm never calling you for anything under a grand. Since State Farm wouldn't cover it anyway why should you know, so you can raise my rates, no thank you.
