Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (THURSDAY, March 26)

RC, it sounds like you will be doing some fun things at your DD's graduation. Your anchor bracelet sounds nice too.

FHG, Have fun with your outing tomorrow. That bookstore sounds like fun. I read two books while on vacation & left them there as they have a bookshelf right next to the towel get/return counter.

Our vacation was fabulous every which way. Getting through the airports going over & coming back was a breeze. We had 80's & sunny every day so I took a nap from 2:00-4:00 p.m. each day as that was the hot time for me. Our friends really enjoyed themselves. My BF's DH had a lot of trouble walking as he is getting worse all the time. We all like water so we were in the pool & ocean a lot. He does great in the water.

The meals were fabulous. We did the seafood restaurant & the steak house restaurant. The large buffet was great. There were 6 restaurants & 3 buffet restaurants. So many things to choose from. They had a different kind of steak, different kind of fish & a different kind of shrimp each day. Plus, every kind of veggie & the fresh fruit was out of this world. The men didn't need dress pants/shirts in any of the restaurants this time. They looked nice in their shorts & nice shirts. Us gals wore nice capris & tops for the lunches & dinners.

Our rooms were nice & they did beautiful towel art on our beds for us each day. We did the smaller buffet at breakfast as it was near the pool & the ocean.

We took a taxi to town one morning & did minimal buying. I bought a nice pair of hoop earrings for $20 & a bottle of vanilla for $5.45. My BF bought a pair of earrings, sunscreen which she left at home & a sun hat which she also left at home & a bottle of vanilla.

I just got the mail this morning & am now heading to the hot tub. Then a quick nap before dinner.

Gayle, I hope that you & your DH are both feeling better now. I clean better when it is cold or rainy too. When it is hot here I have no ambition whatsoever.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (THURSDAY, March 26)

Good evening, everyone! Yes, I went to sub today. I had told them that I was feeling as good as I had in the past so I would sub this week if they had a last minute need. The day went well but I am tired. The odd thing is that I didn't feel it until the last period. When I went to work, I was met with hugs by some students and faculty, and was given a very nice card signed by faculty members. It was an injection of "feeling useful."

Since I'm tired, I'll likely rest for a period of time and perhaps return later to read the posts and respond. I did go to the Post Office and got some QVC packages, one of which I have no idea of what it is. Duh!!

Twinny I'm so glad you two had such a lovely time! And that the airports were a breeze, I know they can be quite stressful.

Jean I'm very glad you were able to go to school and get hugs and some good healthy social interaction. You will have to come back and tell us what your "surprise" is later.

Marijane, I take a medicine that's OTC, but specific to sinus headaches. I've never gotten as many as I have the past few months. I went upstairs to lie down and watch TV, and I slept almost two hours. A bad headache, or else being sick, is the only way can sleep during the day. It's been pouring for most of the afternoon. Nice thing is, you don't have to shovel rain!

Twinny, Nice to see your post! I hope you have fun with whatever decorating you decide to do.

Arlene, Your bookstore sounds so nice to put out free books like that. I hope you have a good time with your friend.

Jean, Hope today wasn't too tiring for you.

Kathleen, Did you get your spam cleared out ?

My brother and I were supposed to get together next week to take care of an insurance change for our folks house that we still own. I called and asked if there was a way to handle it without us driving in, as it's three hours round trip for each of us. They emailed the forms to each of us. One signature each, sent them back, and time and trip saved. He was as thrilled as I was not to have to take a day to handle something so simple. Made my day too! Sometimes it's the little things...... :") pinky

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (THURSDAY, March 26)

Kathleen--The "surprise" was a pair of orthopedic sandals I had bought to wear around the house in the summer and possibly as slippers if I end up in the hospital. I had ordered the Spenco sandals from QVC but they were shipped from a medical supply company, which is why I was confused. They fit well and are less expensive that the Vionic Orthoheels.

Twinny--It sounds as if you had a wonderful time on your vacation. The all inclusive vacation worked well for you, and you deserved a great break. I'm glad that you were able to pick up a few items in town to remember the trip. The hot tub is a great way to relax now that you are home. We are also having winter temperatures this weekend with snow in some areas.

Arlene--I do hope you resisted the temptation to nap and was able to get the closets organized. I hope you enjoy your outing tomorrow and that the rain doesn't continue to dampen your fun.

Marijane--The spaghetti sounds great. I could use some right now but will settle for a quick dinner of a Lean Cuisine pizza.

Gayle--It is good that you were able to enjoy your walk and return home in time to avoid the downpour.

Linda--I think the use of DH's unused room would be great for a home office, computer use, etc. As always, enjoy your classes.

Ann--I do hope your sinus headache is better. The weather can influence this, so I hope the rain stays away.

Pinky, yes it is the little things in life that I enjoy the most sometimes. I am glad that you got your insurance changes so easily. One of my BF's passed away a year ago today & we did so many little things together. I miss her a lot, but she is in a much better place & smiling down at me. Jean, I am glad that you had a good day at school with so much support.
