Good morning, shopping friends. Today is Thursday. How do I know that? Susan Graver is on at 9am, the usual Thursday spot. I really have a problem in the Summer remembering which day it is as they are all basically the same. It is good July 4 doesn't happen on a Wednesday as I would be calling it Saturday. Today is also many people's "Friday" as they will get a three-day weekend. Those types of things realy get my days mixed up.
I am taking a break watching SG but I have spent some time going through clothes and saying "good-bye" to some. They are in excellent condition and barely worn but weight loss is motivating me to get rid of them. I could wear them around the house but the movement to downsize the number of things for joy is telling me to send the "love" to someone who might need them more than I do at this point.
I went to the city yesterday and got my nails done. The shop is in the mall and I had several hours to kill afterwards before I could see a movie as my appointment ran too late to see the earlier showing. I did a quick glance in the windows and decided I didn't want to kill time looking in stores. I decided to head back home as the movies could wait. I remember when I had so much fun shopping but that is past tense now. When I am trying to move things out, I don't need to move things in. I'll wait until Fall to see if the shopping urge hits.
Humana has already paid the hospital for its part of the charges related to the cardiac ablation. That was done as an outpatient but afterwards I was admitted to the hosptial for observation as they were putting me on a med that requires it to be done in a hospital to see what effect it has as it is a tricky drug. Those charges for the inpatient stay will be separate.
A friend and I are gearing up for a trip to Kentucky the latter part of the week of July 13. On the 13th, I will be going back to the outpatient surgery center to have another cystoscopy done to see if the bladder cancer has returned. If clear, then I won't have to have another one for another six months. This time it will be done without anesthesia as it will be a quick "look around." The negative is that if some cancer is found, I will have to be rescheduled for another visist as they can't proceed at that point to remove it. Supposedly, the site will be numbed with some topical gel to permit easier insertion of the scope into the bladder.
With all of this out of the way, I'll be doing odds and ends around the house as time will pass quickly before school begins again in early August. I can't permit procrastination to set in as the past two years with the work, etc. and physical issues permitted fatigue to set in easily so I didn't keep on top of things. There was always tomorrow.
I see Kathleen is indulging in some Six Flags fun therapy. It has been years since I have been to a Six Flags or other amusement park. We just don't dash off to one here; they all involve major driving time. The closest one is four to five hours away. Great fun, however, once one gets there. My favorite parks are Epcot and the Animal Park at Disney. I love the updates on Charlene's goats and hope Arlene is doing better following the death of her furbaby.
Best wishes to all of our posters and readers. Think positively and have a great day.. If you shop, shop wisely.

Two boxes going: one for clothes and one for objects I thought were useful but no longer use...baggage scales, for example. Oh, I have today's TSV. Great purchase for me!
Shopping CAN Be HAZARDOUS !!
A husband and wife are shopping in their local Wal-Mart. The husband picks up a case of Miller Lite and puts it in their cart.
'What do you think you're doing?' asks the wife. 'They're on sale, only $10 for 24 cans', he replies. 'Put them back, it's a waste of money', demands the wife, and so he does and they carry on shopping.
...A few aisles further on along, the woman picks up a $20 jar of face cream and puts it in the basket.
What do you think you're doing?' asks the husband... "It's my face cream. It makes me look beautiful,' replies the wife.
Her husband retorts: 'So does 24 cans of Miller Lite and it's half the price....'
HUSBAND DOWN, AISLE 7 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, going to keep this short, as I tried posting twice and lost both posts. Auto save didn't keep my previous post.
Hope all are well and having a good day. We had more rain through the night with severe storms not too far from us.
It's way to wet to be outdoors today, so I am concentrating on scrubbing the bathrooms today, I gave the kitchen a good cleaning yesterday. That is about the extent of my housecleaning ambition for a few days.
KK, glad you had a nice trip to the city yesterday. Hope you enjoy your trip to Kentucky and wishing you good luck on your up coming bladder check.
I really have zero plans for the July 4th holiday this year, I usually host a pool party every year, but having just had the family reunion I am not hosting another big group so soon, it really is a lot of extra work and expense that I am not ready to do again quite yet. Maybe I'll have a pool party later in the summer.
Waving to everyone.

Good morning, it is rainy and dreary here , but the good news is today is my Friday. I am so excited about a long weekend.
Saturday we are going to meet my DS and his wife for a local baseball game and then grab a bite and go watch fireworks. I am always happy to spend tome with DS and DIL, she works shifts (she is a police officer) so it is a challenge to get everybody together.
Sunday we are going with friends up on the Blue Ridge Parkway to a winery (Chateau Morisette) they have a huge patio and a magnificent view. There will be jazz music, food and wine. I am looking forward to that.
I may run in a local boutigue we have here, and check out their summer sale. i could use a couple of new tops, due to weight loss, but they have to be a good deal.

Jean, thanks for getting us started this morning. I'm going to enjoy a long weekend (corporate holiday tomorrow and vacation day on Monday). Next week I won't know what day it is (lol).
I've never been much of a window shopper or browser in stores. I've always gone shopping with a specific item in mind. My middle sister can spend hours shopping and not walk out with anything. I don't often go shopping with he. I don't mind browsing online though.
I bought the pole saw when it was a TSV last fall - pretty handy garden tool to have around the house. It brings me joy (lol) so it's not going anywhere
Snicks - my 4th will be simple. My eldest sister and her kids/grandkids are up north for the weekend. My middle sister will come over on the 4th. As of yesterday, there is nothing at the show I want to see. We're doing carry out pizza and salad from a pizza place that I don't visit very often. Good food, just a little pricey. I told her we could play board games (lol).
Rosa - your plans for the weekend sound lovely.
Karen - I've been there and can relate to having to find the 'new normal'.

Karen--It is so difficult facing each holiday or other special event knowing that an important person is no longer alive to share the event. It does get easier as you begin to accept and build a new routine but the memories will always be there.
Rosa--It sounds as if you have exciting plans for the weekend. Enjoy the time with DS and DIL. It is so hard when families work different hours to manage to get together, so enjoy it to the max when you can. Also, enjoy the trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a beautiful trip.
Snicks--Sometimes a holiday weekend without plans can turn out to be personally rewarding. Having just hosted an event perhaps a Labor Day celebration might be in the planning.
Bird--Yes, that TSV does bring "joy" especially when you consider how much you have to pay someone to come in and take care of problem branches, trees, etc. I like to do outdoor things whenever possible I'm one of those focused shoppers now but at one time I could easily spend hours in the various stores in a mall...and find things I didn't really need.
It is about time to fix some lunch. Then I need to go to the really big business section of my town so I can pick up my mail. I should have my last check of the school year. We don't have house to house delivery within the town limits, so we all have reunions at the Post Office.

One check in bank. Will miss those this Summer. It is now Kindle time.

Good Morning/Afternoon! Thanks for getting us started Jean. Hope you have a nice time in KY, and your test goes well. Also, hope that it is as pain-free as possible. I remember you purchasing the TSV, and I'm glad it was a good purchase for you and also for Bernie. Given our lack of trees and bushes, I know it wouldn't be a good choice for me here, but. But, in Maryland it would have been great.
I used to love "window" shopping at the Mall, and I bought my share of "want" items that were just discovered because I was looking. Now that I don't live near any Malls, etc and I'm retired with not many needs, I no longer do that type of shopping often. I do check out Beall's on Mondays fairly often -- the store is near Curves, and they give senior discounts on Mondays. But, I'm pretty good at avoiding total impulse purchases there, and often leave empty-handed after five minutes or so.
Don't blame you for not having a big party so soon after your reunion, snicks. Like you said, maybe later on this summer. Have fun cleaning.
Your weekend plans sound great, Rosa. Have a very good time with your son and DIL. Also have fun at the winery.
I think the first year or two after a loved ones passing are particularly difficult, Karen. Give yourself time to get used to the new normal. I still miss my Mom and Dad who passed away many years ago.
Have fun with your sister and family this weekend, Bernie. Pizza sounds good to me.
Waves to Kathleen, Arlene, twinny, pinky ann, Marijane, Susan, LindaR, Charlene, Gayle, and all of our posters and readers.
DH and I took our walk early, and I had my first strong bones workout at the new location with the new leader. It went well, but only three of us showed up. Maybe more ladies will join us on Monday. I have Curves this afternoon, and then DH and I will go to the Army Band concert.
Hope everyone has a nice day!
Hugs,
Linda
