Good Morning/Afternoon!  Hope everyone is having a nice Thursday and your weather is cooperating.  It is cool and cloudy here with a high in the upper 50's, but not very windy or rainy like it was yesterday so I will not complain.  

Oldest DGS and his wife were able to find a flight with a different airline to go down and visit DD in South Carolina.  I am very disappointed in SW Airlines especially since I have quite a few points with them due to my not being able to take a trip in 2020.  Fingers cross they are able to fix their issues soon.

I plan to go to the gym this morning and deliver the hospice supplies this afternoon (assuming they are ready.)

Hi Everyone!

I've been down for the count with the flu (regular type) for a few days. Starting to feel at that in-between stage so finally seeing some progress.

I have been tracking a pair of earrings that were my Christmas gift and stil "stuck" in shipping. Well, today they are officially lost so I received a refund. This is one time I was glad I hit the easy pay option. I'm now in my 2023 budget frame of mind so I'm focused on squeezing every dollar. We received the garbage bill yesterday and they had a $25 increase for Jan. WHAT!! I expected an increase but this is crazy. 

Our weather has finally started to ease up. The snow and bitter cold has stopped for today We had a small temperature rise so some of the ice could melt. There was so much snow on the roof and gutters, etc. that when it started to melt it looked like scattered rain on the patio door mat. Then it froze overnight and converted to a mini ice rink. The dogs were not happy. 

The weather seems to be in a mess for most states. So dangerous in some. Hope everyone is warm and safe.

LindaLatte--Hope your DGSand wife are a go with their flight. What a challenge for all. Hope the hospice supplies are ready  for you.

Hi Linda @LindaLatte   We had similar weather today, it hit 50 degrees here.  Now, as much as I didn't like winter storm Elliott, 50 degrees in Michigan at this time of year ain't natural, lol.

I hope SW airlines get their act together too.  I've never flown them however I understand they are a popular airline.

@Fressa  both of my nieces got hit with the flu the week of Christmas.  Many of my sister's co-workers got hit with it too.  We're having a heatwave - 50's and according to the weather guy this morning it could hit 58 next week Tuesday.  This is not natural for SE Michigan however the wildlife needed a break after that cold snap last weekend.

I'm glad you received a refund on the earrings.  When the Q offers easy pay I take them up on it.  If I receive the item and like it, I then pay off the easy pays.  I bought a new purse yesterday when I went to Meijer.  I'd been watching this Rosetti bag at JCP and Meijer since fall and when Meijer put it on clearance for $25 I said okay now I will buy it.  I hear you on the budget, I'm waiting for the bill from the city for the sidewalk replacement that they insisted on in the summer.  I hope the original estimate that I was given holds.  I am not crazy about how the sidewalks turned out and if I got stuck for anything over $1,000 I'm gonna be mad about it.

Linda L, we had sunshine and it was in the 50's today.  Not normal for this time of the year.  It's supposed to be rainy & mild for the rest of the week and the snow is all but gone.  The skiers, ice skaters and snow mobiler's are not happy.  I am glad that you're dgs, wife and puppy were able to get a flight to NC. I think we flew on SW Airlines back in 1991 when our ds was looking for a chiropractic college in TX.  It's was very nice back then. Thank goodness he went to one in IA.

Fressa, we were lucky not to have icy streets & sidewalks.  Too bad for your dogs trying get out and about.  That's too bad about your order being cancelled.  

Bird Mama, I think this is our January thaw and I am enjoying it.  There's been lots of illnesses going around, but so far we are healthy.  Nice looking bag too.

We had a good time playing cards with our friends, but us gals lost every game.  We hadn't seen them since the pandemic started so we had a lot of catching up to do.

My bf since HS came this morning with a gf and we played euchre again and it was tied.  Two games each.  Then we all.went to Vince's for a really good lunch.  They were short on help like everybody else.  My dh & I went to the gym afterwards and my friend said her open house is tomorrow afternoon.  

We are playing BINGO for the first time in three years and then going to see the 40 decorated Christmas trees. I will let you know how it was.

Gas prices went up 20¢ overnight. It was $3.89 Now it's 4.09.

Birdmama--I like that bag. I always prefer zippers on my purses. I just feel more secure. I guess I'm paranoid from living in the city. LOL  I like a strap that has some length and width to it so it moves with me. Glad you got a great deal. 

Today we'll having an abnormal day with the weather. It's warming up and the ice is melting. The deer ventured out closer to the house so that's my sign. This weather snap is a break we need to melt all this snow and ice before the next storm hits. So many wind gusts with high speeds all over the states. I don't remember that situaion in the last few years.
