Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (Sunday, October 6th)

sydsgma1----I think our fall foilage is so pretty and it lasts for a long time. I like the change of seasons but I thrive in winter.

Hopefully, your maintainence man will solve the a/c problem. Enjoy your movie.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (Sunday, October 6th)

Hi Everyone!

We have clouds and rain today. It's a bit cool so hopefully I'll get a few items from the outdoors in the garage for the season.

I called the a/c/ furnace (boiler) company yesterday about the thermostat/heat issue. We have a boiler system and could find zero information on it. I was pleased that they were here in the mid afternoon. It turns out that it was wired incorrectly. What a mess. Actually, I thought we got lucky with the type of error that it was. It could have been scary. The heat was on before they left and operated correctly thru the night.

I'm hoping that I'll return to the peeling wallpaper project today. I'm running out of time to paint. We have had too many big projects that have "popped up" this year. I'm thinking it really doesn't make a difference if you have an older home or a newer one.

Have a good weekend!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (Sunday, October 6th)

Good Morning/Afternoon!  Hope your apartment is more comfortable, Barbara.  Actually, 76 sounds nice to me, but part of that is probably due to the outside temperature here being so very hot.  It is supposed to reach 99 or 100 degrees again today and tomorrow.  Cooler temperatures are predicted by Thursday, but this has been a record-breaking summer as far as heat goes.

DD's roof is repaired, but she is still waiting to hear back from the "fence man" who is very busy.

Sorry you were so sore yesterday, and hope you enjoyed the movie.  Also hope you are feeling better today.

Good luck with your wallpaper project, Fressa.  Not a fun job.  Glad to hear about your thermostat.  One of my friends (who passed away late last year) had the same issue with her thermostat wires not being installed properly.  In her case, it was really hot and her new AC didn't work at all until they discovered and fixed the problem.

Things were pretty chaotic at the hospice office yesterday afternoon.  They really need to hire or appoint temporarily a new director.  I did meet the hospice doctor who turned out to be a very nice, tall man who is also in the Army (perhaps Reserves?)  Anyway, he came into the office in his fatigues, and I had no idea that he was the doctor. He showed the volunteer coordinator and me adorable pictures of his little girl (toddler).

Yesterday morning, 24 cars of a freight train derailed a couple of miles south of the office.  At least one of the cars was filled with sulfuric acid.  Fortunately, the local fire department, railroad, etc. were able to neutralize the acid.  But, what a mess.  No one was hurt, but they are warning people not to go on the tracks in that area until they can assess and clean-up.

I am doing my regular Saturday chores (laundry, etc.) -- nothing exciting.  The TSV boots are cute, but I certainly don't need any more boots.

Waves to Fressa, Barbara, Bernie, Susan, Shanus, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Hugs,

Linda
