Good Afternoon! Which sweater did you order, Barbara? I pretty much treat myself all the time, so I think you are wise to indulge. I know some people have a problem with overspending and getting into debt, but both of us (and I think all of our thread "regulars") don't have that problem.
I am trying to reduce the amount of "stuff" I have, and that helps me resist some of my impulses. However, I ordered the TSV candles. Definitely do not need them, but decided to treat myself. Loved seeing a bit of Elton John's estate and hearing some of the stories.
Glad you were able to get out to the stores.
Hope that you continue to get stronger, Glenda. And, the pain is reduced. My Mom had to use a bag after they discovered she had colon cancer and operated on her, and she never learned how to take care of it. They sent nurses to train her, but it was just too much for her. So, we (I) hired a aide to come to her house when the insurance would no longer pay for their help.
My caregiver's friend's son was so nice. Today he came at 8:30 to work on the kitchen faucet. First, he discovered he needed some parts, and went to the hardware store. Then, he discovered that he needed tools from home and went there and came back. He very carefully cleaned up. He didn't give me a price, but refused to take anything more than $100. That isn't even the price of two hours of my old handyman's time. He gave me a hug and told me he would be happy to come back if I had other jobs. Wow! I'm overwhelmed with his kindness.
I took a walk and am finishing up on the laundry. It was cool this morning, but they are predicting a high of 85 degrees today. Starting tomorrow, the highs are predicted to be in the 70's, which is good in my book.
Waves to Glenda, Barbara, Fressa, Bernie, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda

Linda & Barbara, sometimes it's fun to buy something that we don't need, but desire. I purchased several sweat shirts/pants that I did need for my new "life style." One was a set, but the pink, light blue and light green tops were so pretty that I bought light grey, dark grey and silver/white bottoms to go with them. I am feeling a lot better than I was & I have my appetite back which is a good thing. The hardest part is chewing my food lots of times. I don't want to clog things up.🤔😑😐
It's another cloudy day with a few more cloudy ones coming. The snow was nice, but it was gone too soon.
Nothing exciting going on around here which is a good thing. I don't need any more surprises that put me in the hospital.
Hugs to all of you.

Good Evening! Hope today was quiet, Glenda. Visits to the hospital are never fun. Glad you found some extra clothing that you enjoy.
It has been a nice, quiet day for me. Church was good, and i did some cooking before I went to the gym. The gym was really full when I arrived, but I was able to use the treadmill, and by the time I finished, there were very few people there. I ran into a couple of my "gym buddies", including Lynn who is really struggling to recover from serious injuries. And, her DH is exhibiting some signs of dementia that are very troubling.
I have more cooking to do plus ironing and some house cleaning. Not looking forward to going to Bev's funeral tomorrow, but I am determined to do so. I don't know if any other caregivers will be attending, but I hope so.
Waves to Glenda, Fressa, Barbara, Bernie, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda

Linda L, it was a quiet day for me. Your day seems to be busy as usual. My dh went to church this morning and came home with ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, & pumpkin pie. Our church was having its annual Thanksgiving lunch which we normally go to, but I am supposed to stay away from crowds. The only thing that my taste buds didn't like were the mashed potatoes and gravy. It's so good to have my appetite back.
Barbara, I was all ready to go to Culver's and get a shrimp dinner for lunch. That's the next thing on my agenda.
Hugs to all of you.

ETA: I forgot to mention that my dh brought me a get well card from church friends and it had gift cards for Aldi and Subway. We have both of these in our hometown.

So glad your appetite is mostly back, Glenda. That was certainly nice of your church.

Linda @LindaLatte what a blessing that you found a handyman who knows what he's doing and does it for a reasonable fee.

Good Morning! It should be another nice day here, and it will probably be a busy one for me.
Bev's funeral yesterday was just as she wanted it to be. The parish priest had been transferred to a different parish last June, but she asked him to come back and he did. He relayed stories about their interactions that I remembered her telling me. Of course I cried, but it was good.
Two other "caregivers" came, including one who sat next to me which was very nice. I met Bev's son who said he had heard about me from his Mom.
Before the funeral, I visited a hospice patient and after I worked in the hospice office most of the day.
Waves to Glenda, Fressa, Barbara, Bernie, Susan, and all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone has a nice day.
Hugs,
Linda

Linda @LindaLatte I'm glad that Bev's funeral was as she wanted it to be and that the parish priest honored her wishes.
