I awoke this morning to snow on the grass and the roof. I knew that it wouldn't last and I'm grateful to have seen it. I've been having a hard time getting motivated for the holidays. I think seeing the snow will help.

Birdmam---I'm glad you saw the snow. I really enjoy those moments. I'm behind on everything around here and then finally decided to give myself "time off" on the "to do list". I'm still a "work in progress ".

Hi Everyone!
We had a nasty storm last evening that lasted thru early morning around here. Forecast for today is more of the same with snow, ice, etc. (winter) There's a tornato watch posted which is unusual for us. Power is out for quite a few but we missed that in our area. I did watch the weather channel last night and it looks like nasty weather for most of the states.
I did watch the evening Temptations show last night and ordered the mini pie bakers. I'm going to use them for the hubby's snacks. LOL It seems like we use those tiny snack bowls multiple times each day. Hopefully, these will gain some space for the top rack of the dish washer instead of all those little dishes. I was tempted with a few of the items but I'm determined to make use of the baking dishes that I have.
I heard Jane say that the Q is cutting back on the SHOE programs. No other details. I'm trying to limit what I actually buy in any category. It just made me panic when I realized that both are Subarus are older and we need to be prepared for the "what if".
I received a letter from the water department advising that our water line pipe was in question and probably needs replaced. (our expense) No details. I'm guessing that this is the preview for Spring of 2025 and not winter of 2024. "Surprise"! UGH!!
Have a good afternoon/evening.

We got our first snow storm this morning (maybe an inch ot two )so according to the old Indian formula, we are going to get 41 snow falls. Looks like my dh will be busy.
Since Thursday is our grocery shopping day, we were out and about. We were able to get everything on the list. Higher prices of course. Gas prices are down to $2.99.
When we got back home somebody was at front door. It was my friend whom her dh took his life in June. It was so nice to see her & she brought stew for lunch and an apple dessert.
Yesterday afternoon a couple from church dropped in & brought a whole roasted chicken from Qwik Trip. It was delicious and I just had to make mashed potatoes.
Barbara, you & I both know what its like to have a lot of pain. The pain ftom my double surgeries was unbelievable, but I am faithful and know that God has me in the palm of his hand.
It's going to be a lazy afternoon for me.
Bird Mama, going on a two day trip was so nice because we had a beautiful Fall. It seems like the only places I go are the clinic or hospital. I enjoyed seeing it snow today too.
My infusion on Monday was a difficult one as they couldn't access my port and I had to have a needle in my arm. Then as soon as I was done with my infusion it cooperated. Thank goodness as my port is just a year old. There must have been a small clot.
Hugs to all of you.

we had our first measurable snowfall yesterday..maybe 3".
My son called and suggested I not go out because it was slippery. I am a decent snow driver and ok with ice, but he worries about me falling. So I did cancel my pt.
i did make for my echo this morning. I forget how bad the wind is here so I need a hat and scarf. The garage is heated which will be nice when it gets really cold.
i feel better today than earlier in the week. My paperwork for my infusions should be moving forward.
Glenda you are blessed to be surrounded by good friends and family. And you seem to be pretty functional. That helps so much too. Sorry your port gave you fits.
Linda..it looks like you have found a good handyman. I had 2 friends in Az who helped me at basically no cost except for whatever supplies I needed.
Bernie..I have a lovely view from my living room and I pull up a couple of blinds.
Fressa..your storms sound ugly. We all have to remember to take a day of rest.
have a blessed day❄️❄️☃️

Barbara, I am quite functionable which is a good thing. After my two surgeries though, I was paralyzed and it did scare until I asked my surgeon if I would ever be able to walk again and she said yes. I was wheel chair bound for two months. PT is helping me to get stronger legs, arms & shoulders. I had OT at home after the two surgeries as the chemo treatments really did mess with my hands. They are a lot more numb than I am used to.
I am not liking it getting dark at 4:30. It seems like bedtime to me.

ETA: I am now able to get my infusions in town which is a blessing during the winter months.

Good Evening! Glad those of you who like snow got some. Equally glad that I live in an area that gets very little snow. I like the pictures and snow globes, but really hate driving in snow and ice, and prefer warm weather to cold. It was chilly this morning when I took my walk (37 degrees), but warmed up to 81 degrees! Tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer.
Good that the snow helped your holiday motivation, Bernie. The Macy's Thanksgiving parade usually works for me. My neighbor across the street has already put up some blue lights, which I like. But, I don't plan to decorate until Thanksgiving afternoon/evening. I really like my Fall decorations.
Your weather sounded a bit rough, Fressa. A water pipe, oh joy. Hope it isn't too expensive to replace. Also hope you like the Temptations you ordered.
It is so nice that you have family and friends stopping by, Glenda. Very sorry that you had problems with your port. Fingers crossed it will be better next time. I am glad you are better after all the pain you went through and hope your hands come back to normal soon. Hugs.
Our gasoline is down to $3.15 -- I'll take it. Also had 10 cents off a gallon in credit from the grocery store.
I know you are a good snow/ice driver, Barbara, but I think your son was right. I remember how much trouble Claudia had after her fall on the ice. You sure don't need any more pain. Fingers crossed about your infusions.
I had another pretty busy day. Spent time at hospice, and then went to buy gasoline, went to the gym (did pretty well), etc. I made a pumpkin pie this evening. All for me. LOL
Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Glenda, Barbara, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda
P.S. My grandson's wife posted another short video of the twins in their highchairs making all sorts of noises and laughing. That sure puts a smile on my face.

Linda L, we got our first snowfall of an inch yesterday. It did track a cat, so we are going to get 41 snowfalls. Yippee as I am hoping for White Christmas. Right now, everything is brown😐😑😐. I am sure that your twins are cute.
My rheumatologist retired last year, but they found a good replacement for him. I saw her once & she said I didn't have to go back to see her. My neurologist at the UW Clinic is retiring at the end of this years after 50 years of practice. I will miss him, but he has a replacement which is good as he will be ordering my infusions at my local clinic. His father is 105 years old, lives by himself somewhere in Poland and was a neurologist for 50 years. Their sister was a neurologist too.
It's a mild cloudy day, but I am waiting for a nice sunny day🤗🤗🤗.
My sil came this morning and helped my dh change my apparatus. My dh has been so good to me, but he needs support from his retired sil nurse I forgot to mention that she & my dh's brother came back home from London sick last Saturday only to find out they both tested positive with Covid!
I am so glad to wake up mostly pain free after 12 rough weeks. Traveling is a bit of a challenge for me, but we are getting there slow but sure. Thanksgiving will be a carry out meal from a good local restaurant. We did it last year and it was fabulous. We have had a couple of offers to go away, but I am more comfortable being at home.
Hugs to all of you.

I ran some errands this afternoon..Amazon returns to kohls and then I needed a few more items for my visitors next week. I used an electric cart at target which makes things workable.
i am going get a shower before dinner. I stopped at Culver's for a shrimp dinner. That will be later.
i was warmer today when i was out because i put a scarf on. And I will start wearing hats when it gets colder or windy.
Glenda, it takes a while to learn how to manage those appliances. I have been a bag lady since 1991. My sweet dh and Sydnie were my helpers but I finally realized I have to be brave and do it myself. But that took me many years.
oh the fun we have.🤬🤬
Have a restful evening. I was naughty and bought the Isaac mirahi sweater. I may get the pants. Naughty, naughty.😍

Sydsgma1, I don't know if I will ever be able to do it all by myself as the neuropathy in my hands is a lot worse since I am getting chemo therapy treatments. As long as I have a couple of nurses able to help me out, I am OK. Enjoy your new pants. Since my new wardrobe is sweat shirts/pants, I have bought 3 sweat shirts in pale pink, blue and green. One matching set & three pairs of pants in green, grey and white. They are all fleece lined and warm.. We have Culver's and I like their shrimp too.
