Good Morning to those of you on Q time. It isn't midnight here, but I wanted to start a new thread since our other was getting pretty long.
Sorry for all who are dealing with pain. Like Bernie, I admire your strength strength and perseverance, Glenda. But, I really wish you didn't have to go through all of this. I continue to pray for you.
You as well, Barbara. I'm sure you are very frustrated. And, falling frightens me very much. I hope the PT helps, and you don't need to go out in the very cold weather.
Glad you are a list maker and are being cautious, Bernie. Really hope your pain reduces soon.
So happy you have the generator, Fressa. I'm definitely in the treat myself phase.
My back is still bothering me, and I haven't been to the gym in more than a week. Also, not taking my morning walks most days since the pain seems worse when I first get up in the morning. Fortunately, the pain diminishes later in the day, and I am able to sleep better lately.
Our weather is still nice with highs in the low 70's and lows in the 40's, but they are predicting cooler weather starting on Tuesday.
I went out to lunch with the neighborhood ladies on Wednesday, and found out that my 95 year old neighbor passed away last month, and several other neighbors passed away as well. Heaven has a lot of new angels, but I miss them.
On Thursday, the "newcomers" Thursday lunch group had a pot luck at the leader's home. She decorated beautifully, and there was a ton of good food and fun conversation.
I have been working at the hospice office quite a bit, but I am no longer going to visit one of my hospice patients since she wanted someone to work on crafts and painting with her (which I cannot do). I really don't think she is capable of doing anything with her hands (she can barely use the TV remote, etc.), but I know that is something she wants to do.
Hope to pick up a few more groceries tomorrow plus do some errands and attend a meeting of the solo travelers group. I may also go to a "festival of trees" being held at a local church.
Waves to Glenda, Bernie, Barbara, Fressa, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.
Hugs,
Linda

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. It turned out to be a good day. First of all, my back was better, and I was even able to take a walk this morning. I went to Starbucks to get my free birthday drink, and then picked up a few groceries before going to the hardware store to buy a gift certificate for my new handyman (friend's son) who is having a birthday in a couple of weeks.
I received a notice from one of my banks that my very small savings account would be considered "dormant" unless I made a withdrawal or deposit within 30 days. This didn't make sense to me because I have $10 a month automatically deposited from my checking account to the savings account. Fortunately, they had someone on call last night, and she told me that the electronic deposit didn't count, I had to go into the bank. So I went into the bank (which is in the grocery store) and took out $20. Really think this is a crazy rule, but she explained that I would need to do this at least every year for the accounts at the bank. The clerk at the bank confirmed it.
I attended a meeting of the "solo travelers" group this afternoon at the local coffee shop (not a chain), and the server at the counter told me my drink was on the house (this was even before I told her that it was my birthday), and gave me a cookie since they throw them away at the end of the day and were closing in an hour or so.
There were only four of us at the meeting, but it went very well, and I found out that there was a new Turkish cafe in the area. What a surprise. I decided to go there and take some food out for dinner (didn't have lunch), but the owner was very enthusiastic about my Turkish connection, and urged me to have dinner there and take out the appetizers. The food was delicious, and the place really filled up by the time I left. Now, I have plenty of food for tomorrow.
While at dinner, I had a call from a florist who told me that he had delivered flowers to the wrong house, so when I got home I knocked on several neighbors houses before finding the very large and heavy bouquet outside one of the houses. I know the lady's husband passed away recently, but don't really know her. No one answered the door, but I just took the flowers. They were from my DH's friend who had called me earlier in the afternoon, so I called and thanked him. He spends way too much, but it is sweet and always puts my DH's name on the card.
What a lot of adventures.
Barbara -- my hospice patient cannot do much of anything with her hands, so painting of any sort just could not work. I know she would like to do crafts and painting like she did in the past, but she just cannot do so.
I am far behind with my usual Saturday chores, but hope to get some done tonight.
Thanks again for the birthday wishes.
Sleep well.
Linda

Happy birthday🎂 to you Linda L. It seems like you had a great day! A new restaurant is always fun and yours was a very special restaurant.
My pain isn't bad now, but the neuropathy is worse every time I get my chemo therapy treatments. My chemo treatment was quite enjoyable as the nurse said I would get very tired. In 5 minutes, I was feeling "loopy.". I was told that I could get one meal in the six hours treatment so I chose breakfast. My dh went to the cafeteria and got his omelet and hash browns which he shared with me as my breakfast menu was very limited. Next time I will eat breakfast at home and have a good lunch at the hospital.
We are going to have a few days in the upper 40's starting tomorrow, so we might go for a bit of shopping on Monday with a nice lunch out. I have PT on Tuesday. I don't need anything except for getting out of the house!
It's been a peaceful day and I want to thank all of your for your prayers. They mean a lot to both of us.
Hugs to all of you.
Glenda

Hi Everyone!
Sending prayers to all those in need. Hopefully, everyone will see signs of relief sooner than later.
The wind gusts have expired and the sun is out today. The snow /ice is melting but it is still cold (30's) today. According to the forecast we are to climb up to 50 on Mon-Tue. I hope to be able to bath the dogs on Tuesday. Usually I have their holiday bath checked off the list .My timing and the weather didn't cooperate this year.
I hope to finish the Christmas cards today and make a few "to do" lists. I did manage to get the supplies in for baking pies. Cookies are still a question. I seem to have encouraged my sweet tooth this year. I still have gift shopping to tackle for the "adult" kids.
I haven't seen too many items that tempt me this year. Normally that would be a good thing but it does make it difficult for gift shopping.I did find a few items for the men in the family on Duluth Trading .
Have a good afternoon/evening.

Hope you are able to get out of the house and do some shopping tomorrow, Glenda. Sorry chemo causes you problems, but at least you are able to get a nice meal when you have it.
Good luck with washing the dogs and your other chores, Fressa. I have my cards out on the table, but none have been done yet. I seem to have lost some of the addresses that I need, but I could do many of the cards. Hope you are able to find the gifts you are seeking.
After such a nice day yesterday, last night was pretty bad. My back started really hurting by 3:00 a.m., and I finally got up around 4:30. No walk again, plus I didn't feel up to going to church or the gym.
I decided the floral arrangement that DH's friend had sent to me was really not to my liking. It was one-sided (flowers on one side and greens on the back), and it was very tall. I don't have a place to put an arrangement where you only see the front, and the flowerless back part didn't look nice.
Also, some of the flowers had fallen off by the time I got it home from the neighbor's house. Anyway, I decided to call the florist and voice my concerns. The very nice lady who answered was most sympathetic -- both because of the delivery mix-up and my disappointment with the flowers. She apologized and they delivered a new arrangement late this afternoon. Much more to my liking.
I didn't accomplish much today, but hope I'm better tomorrow since I have lots of work to do both at hospice and at home. I did figure out how to set up my new Roku streaming bar after failing to do when it came. I really considered returning it, so this was a plus.
Waves to Fressa, Glenda, Bernie, Barbara, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps/slept well.
Hugs,
Linda

oh Linda..I worry about your back pain. Have you thought about going to a major medical school like the U of Az.
Or when you are having an attack going to the ER. Does your dd know about the attacks?
I had my infusion today...I am having the usual side effects so I have my fireplace on an will make some tea and toast soon
Greetings to everyone. Santa comes in 15 days. Ho ho ho 🎄🎄🎅
