Hi Everyone!
Prayers to Jean, Bev,Barb and all others in need.
It's humid with thuderstorms forecasted for the next 3 days. UGH!!! What a relief to have the new roof, gutters and screens. I wasn't up checking everything for the first night since the install. I guess it will take a bit to get used to the update.
The bubby started to re-do the Belgium block walkway to our side door yesterday. It leads to the steps for the lower yard. The rain will delay it for about 5 weeks now but he got the powerwashing done and most of the stone placement. Our siding install has been pushed back to the last two weeks of the month so weather wise that should be okay.
I did get the hubby's prescription on Friday and the some groceries. The biggest jump in price was poptarts. ($3.49) I live on these things. Hopefully they reduce it next week.
We have some wildlife climbing the fence or flying in to eat the few remaining tomatoes. I don't know if a turkey will eat a tomato. I'm hoping the trail camera catches a shot of what it is. Our peppers are blooming but most of them are very tiny. I'll have to find a better spot for them I plant them again next year.
This long weekend we're trying to get some extra rest and relaxation. It seems like we're exhausted all at once. So far, I've resisted any temptation for clothing. I did a little Christmas shopping so I felt a bit of relief that I got that started. I found a new business for the dog snacks that costs a bit less. I was able to get their snacks on auto delivery so hepfully that will work better. I hope to find a cheaper place for their monthly medication. Crossing my fingers.
Have a good afternoon/evening.

Hi Fressa @Fressa
It's cooler than was originally forecast and dreary looking today in my part of the world. I was in the backyard picking up walnuts when I heard thunder in the distance, I think NW of me. I don't know if we're going to rain today or tomorrow.
I love unfrosted poptarts, brown sugar cinnamon. Second favorite is the red ones I think strawberry? I found half a squash near the backfence. I think a squirrel may have tried to travel with it and found it too heavy. I tossed it over the fence into the field.
I went to family gathering yesterday, belated birthday open house for youngest great niece. That kid is something else and unless she reserves her bad behavior for family I see calls from the school in her mother's future.
I received an interesting piece of mail from the Q - it was a fashion forecast for fall.

Fressa, it was humid here on Friday. Yesterday we had thunderstorms off and on all day. Highs in the 70's. Dh said 1" was in the rain gauge. It looks like you are making good progress with a few different projects. I picked 5 nice red tomatoes yesterday and cooked them for lunch today with grilled cheese sandwiches. We went to our favorite factory on Friday and got Muenster for my dh and Baby Swiss for me. Fruit is reasonable one week and high the next week. Same thing for butter and eggs.
Bird Mama, I picked up about two dozen walnuts so my Dh could mow the lawn on Thursday. Your find was a lot bigger than a few walnuts here and there. Your birthday party sounded like she needs a bit of discipline.
I have my next PT session on Wednesday. Then I think I can do them at home and our gym. All I need is encouragment as I am bored with doing them twice a day. I am over the moon happy that my neurologist agreed 100% with our ds that "it's my shoulder and not my spine."
We went to the farmers market on our mopeds yesterday and barely got back home before it rained hard. The large cantaloupe we bought was 1/2 rotten when I cut it for lunch today.
It was so good to see my dh's cousin and her husband from PA yesterday along with another local cousin. Lots of catching up to do.
It's cloudy and in the 60's today. 70's & sunny for at least a week. Yippee as I am so ready for Fall. I did a little bit of Fall decorating this week.
No big plans for the rest of the weekend. On Wednesday, we are going to see my dh's Mom. She will be 97 years old. Her memory is good. She has trouble getting out, but knitting & reading keep her busy.
Prayers for those that are in different situations. My next infusion is a week from tomorrow. My dh's mouth is back to normal. Salt water and Vaseline did the trick.
Hugs to all of you.
Glenda

Good Afternoon/Evening and thanks for getting us started, Fressa. Sorry your weather isn't nice, but at least you don't need to worry so much about the roof, gutters, and screens. Enjoy some R&R over the long weekend. Sounds like a good idea to postpone the siding install until the weather improves. Hope the Poptarts go down in price. Unlike you and Bernie, I have never been a fan. I think it is because I don't like sweet stuff for breakfast.
I had an interesting experience this morning. A few months ago, I upgraded my toaster (Cuisinart 2-slice version), and I have been satisfied with it so far. However, this morning, it just wouldn't work. I finally figured out it was because the thin-slice bread I was trying to use just didn't weigh enough. I usually use regular bread for toast and the thin-sliced for sandwiches. Now I know.
Hope your weather improves tomorrow, Bernie. Your great niece must be a character. My SIL sent me an email this morning, and said that my great niece (turns four in November) is a real chatterbox. She said that she and her boyfriend find it cute, but she realizes it could be difficult if they were with her more often.
My SIL had suddenly lost her job at an assisted living facility in early August, but was happy to find a new job as an administrative assistant. She certainly has had trouble keeping a job.
Bev, another "caregiver", and i had lunch yesterday, and it was a lot of fun. Bev's surgery is on Wednesday.
"My" gym had been closed for repairs for the past two weeks, so I went today after church. They had a big sign saying that the room was warm since the new AC unit didn't work. It was a bit warmer than usual, but fortunately not too hot. The lady in charge told another gym member that it wasn't too bad in the mornings, but could get hot in the afternoons. The sign said that it could be four weeks before things are repaired. Not good.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Sleep well.
Hugs,
Linda
ETA -- Glad to see you posting, Glenda. It really upsets me when melons, etc. are rotten when I open them up. Nice that you had a good visit with your DH's cousins. Good luck with PT and enjoy your visit with your MIL.

Birdmama-I live on pip-tarts and the dogs drool for the crust part of them. I have to have the unfrosted type--brown sugar and cinn, blueberry and strawberry are my flavors. I guess I should have bought stock in that company so I could afford them now. LOL

Twinny70---So happy for you that therapy is going well. I think it can get weary so it's good that you alreay have a gym that you use.
i It's been a series of thunderstorms here day and night. Humidity is somewhat amanageable depending on the rain. Flood watch is out for today. Thursday is the first day without rain . UGH!!1

LindaLatte---That sure was interesting about the toaster. I never would have thought that the bread weight would trigger the sensor. I guess the popularity of muffins and bagels caused them do a modification. I have limited counter space so I use the toaster oven for toasting everyting. I have to remember to check the setting because we each have a different setting for toast, pop tarts and bagel. I do think that the toaster ovens don't seem to last as long as a stang alone toaster.
Your SIL was lucky that she found another job so quickly. It's a bit sketchy around here with jobs. Quite a few of the emplyers have gone to part-part time employmntt. It makes it "trickY" if you have to work multiple jobs. That's what one of the major grocery chain is doing.
One month without A/C ---UGH!!!
