SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, SEPT.,12)

Hi Everyone!

I've been peeling wallpaper from the spare room. I'm hoping to finish today but it will dpend on how well I do on the ladder/step stool. I'm anxious to get it painted and put together. I 'm looking forward to updating the first floor but now am in the "what colors to pick" question. It's always something.

We have our fingers crossed for our kids dog. She's a mastiff but small for that breed. She has some health problems and took a turn on Friday. We have our fingers crossed that she will turn the corner and have a few more years.

I received the Candace long sleeve top/s that I ordered. I like the fabric but they are entirely too small for me. I haven't decided if I want the endless hassle of trying the next size up or just return them and forget that line. It's always disappointing when something doen't fit but I think it's just the way they are making items.

I did watch some of the Christmas programs just to keep my mind off things. It sue seems like they are repeating some items quite a few times. I did like the way the new host Vanessa handled her presentations. I should pick up a couple of Christmas presents today. I have a few options in my cart so hopefully I'll be inspired sooner than later today.

It was good to see everyone busy with yardwork or plans for vacations and fun. Our weather has been windy and cool at nights. It's still hot during the day.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Fressa--Thank you for starting the thread. You definitely have abundant energy and expertise to get all that work done. I get tired just from reading it as I can't picture myself doing it now. I will admit that I once did things  like that.

The shot in the shoulder is definitely helping.  This will help me get more things done in the next month before the knee surgery at the end of October. That may or may not take place depending upon what is happening with Covid. Our state is having a major problem with it right now, and the county in which I live has the highest positivity rate with many waiting for beds to handle their degree of problem.

It was a beautiful day, so I enjoyed my outing to the city a little over an hour away. I got my nails done followed by a WalMart curbside grocery pickup.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, SEPT.,12)

Good Afternoon/Evening and thanks for getting us started, Fressa.  Jean is right -- you are certainly energetic and focused on getting the work around your house and yard done.  While I am pretty energetic most days, I definitely do not spend nearly as much time on household projects.  Usually, cleaning is about it.

Hope your kid's dog will be okay.  Sorry those tops didn't work out.  I would be tempted just to send them back since I can never figure out if a different size would work.  But, perhaps you would want to try.  I saw part of a presentation of Diane Gilman's new jeans yesterday, and I was intrigued, but not willing to try buying jeans in a "range".   Of course, I don't need any more jeans or other clothes in any case.

Glad your shoulder is better, and you had a good trip into the city Jean.  The major story on the front page of our local paper discussed the problem of COVID patients taking up beds in local hospitals.  One person had a very serious gastrointestinal problem, and the local hospital tried to find a hospital in Tucson that had specialists in that area.  No beds were available.  Eventually, they found a doctor who made a special trip down to the hospital and literally saved the man's life.  Another patient is waiting for heart surgery -- already two weeks, and no beds available.  COVID is definitely an issue here despite a high number of people being vaccinated.  Almost all of the hospitalized COVID patients are in the unvaccinated group.  Sad and scary.

I hope you can get your surgery done as scheduled.

On-line church was good this morning, and then I went to the gym.  It wasn't crowded, but I was not happy because the elastic on one side of the disposable mask I was wearing broke off.  After that happened, I made sure that I was well-distanced from the other people in the gym.  None of them were wearing masks.

I start two of my Zoom OLLI classes tomorrow morning, which is exciting.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda
