Good morning, shopping gfriends. I just finished "wrapping" a big gift for a friend who I will see later today. This gift is large and comes in a large box, and there are some smaller stocking stuffers involved. I knew the usual paper wrap or bags wouldn't work, so Amazon came to the rescue. I found these things called Santa Sacs which are made of canvas and can be reused for decoration, storage, etc. They are also great to stuff with paper and use as decoration. This is the one I got but I'm not putting the name on it as the person may want to use it for another purpose.
They come in different patterns but this is the one I got:
This really didn't cost that much more than the heavy paper bags suitable for putting blankets, coats, etc. in but which are not as durable. I think it would be great also as a decorative item or storage sack for small Christmas decorations.
I'm usually a sucker for buying electronics but I am not rushing into buying the TSV. My Echo first generation doesn't function that well right now so I could justify it. At the same time, perhaps it woiuld be good to see what Amazon is coming out with as an upgrade.
Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely

Hi Everyone!
I'll have to check out those "santa sacks". What deal and good idea.
It started raining yesterday so we decided to move our furniture donations into the garage. We got everything up except the sofabed. That's on the list for today. It looks like I might have to have multiple charities. Some take only sofas and not sofa beds, etc. I just want it all gone before the holiday. We had to move one of the cars out of the garage so I don't want it to sit there for too many days.
I did some Christmas shopping on line for all the "little" token gifts for the carriers and the dogs. I'll have to make a trip to Petco for their toys soon. I have all the big gifts to buy for all the adult kids and I'm waiting for their lists. This year I'm running empty on ideas for anything ahead of time. i usually give them each a "surprise" gift but frankly haven't seen anything that caught my eye. I haven't seen too much at Kohls even with all the sales. I must really be sticking to my budget. LOL
Hope everyone has a nice afternoon/evening.

Fressa--I paid $6.99 for that big Santa Sack. I put a boxed reversable faux fur in it which took up much of the room, a Lock and Lock (one of those Christmas gift sets) with a gift card and candy in it. The person was thrilled with it as she has been having a rough time. She loved all of it but she also liked the Santa Sack almost as much as the faux fur and will be using it to put smaller items in it for storage.
Sticking to your budget is made easy when you don't see things that appeal to you. I do hope you get your furniture donated before the holidays. If nothing else, if they don't pick it up, put a sign on it that says "Free, take me!!"

Hello there Jean @KonaKat and Fressa @Fressa ![]()
Last night I placed an order with JCP yesterday that was more expensive than any order that I've placed with them in the last year.
Last month I ordered a memory foam topper for my daybed and was thrilled when I got a great price on it ($105). While I was airing it out my sister came over and I told her, you gotta try this thing out. She thought it felt wonderful. I know my sister and spending the money on the same topper in a queen size is a 'wanna have' and not a 'have to have'.
The sale had come and gone as JCP sales do
and the queen size topper had sold out. I kept it on my wish list and checked back a couple of times a week.
Last night I was able to pick up the topper that I have, just in the queen size for $25 more than I paid for the twin. Isn't that insane ![]()
One Christmas present down ![]()
You know me and JCP
I didn't stop there.
I picked up this Monet pin.
I picked up 2 St John's Bay white tees. Each was under $8
I also picked up a pair of winter boots by Flexus
I remembered Ebates and earned almost $13. I earned enough JCP rewards to add to what I had and now I have a $10 reward certificate and am half way to another $10 certificate.
I think I shopped wisely last night.

Oops I got so caught up in sharing my sale I forgot to mention that I used the lawnmower to vacuum up more leaves in my front yard. This is it. I'm not doing it again and I don't care what blows over from the neighbors who didn't rake.

Bernie--You always do well with your shopping. The topper will be very appreciated. Yes, you and JCP have a great relationship!! ![]()
I found this little gem. Anyone who has had anesthesia will appreciate this "Waking Up is Hard to Do." Sometimes, a little humor is needed:

Good Afternoon/Evening! That is a very nice bag, Jean. And, it is very reasonably priced. Lately, I have found that cards often cost that much. Yikes! Glad she liked the gift and the bag. Almost all of my gifts are cash or gift cards, but I will have to keep that in mind just in case I decide to give a large gift. That is a very funny video, and so true. I didn't have much trouble the last time I had anesthesia, but I remember one time (ear operation, I think), that they kept telling me to wake up when I wasn't ready. DD drove me home, and I was sick the minute I got out of the car -- right in my front yard. Not fun.
Good luck with getting rid of the furniture before the holidays, Fressa. I din't think about sofa beds, but i know that most of the charities (maybe all) around here don't take mattresses. But, I purchased a sofa bed from one of the thrift shops. so I know they take them. I like giving small, surprise gifts for DD and family, but even that was difficult. So, I just send her a check so she can find small gifts for everyone or just give them cash. When I used to see them, I would put gift cards or small amounts of cash in those little Christmas stocking decorations.
As usual, you made some great purchases at JCP, Bernie. I'm sure your sister will love her gift. I have a pair of boots (I call them my "snow" boots) which I have had for years. While I don't anticipate being in the snow, I haven't been able to part with them.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda
P.S. My church had its annual "Three Kings" Sunday where we bring toys for needy children. They got quite a large number of toys. I brought my "usual" Lego set since I know how much my grands enjoyed Legos as kids.

Linda--I thought the cost was reasonable based upon the cost of big paper bags. In addition, these are stronger and can be used again making them cost effective. I've always wanted a recording of what I've said when under anesthesia especially the kind in which you are semi aware and can answer questions but then have no memory of what transpired.
I decided not to get the TSV I have no need for two of them.

What a delighful video @KonaKat
I had the opposite problem. I've had 4 surgeries in my life and I woke up, wide awake, in the middle of 3 of them. Startled the heck out of some doctors.
