Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MOTHER'S DAY)

RC, Sounds like you had a really nice Mother's Day today. It isn't as easy once they are married & move away from home. Our DD & dear SIL & GC live 1 1/4 hours away, so not just a close jump in the car. Our GC all had soccer games this afternoon, so they did call me when they were done. DS & dear DIL live in the Boston area, so that is certainly too far to come for the weekend. He always call me every week, so we do keep in touch a lot. In fact today when he called me we talked about making plans to meet them in Sept. up in ME. They only live 1 1/2 hours from a really nice resort that DH & I like to go to. Hot weather kills me, so we don't make too many travel plans June-August. Then in the fall I am ready to fly my KITE!!! Ha. Ha.

Twinny--It sounds as if you made some really great purchases....and the swim suit was in the nick of time before the sale ended. Phone calls are always a great way to keep in touch; there is nothing like the sound of a human voice. I remember well how my brothers would call my mother on Mother's Day. Now, all are gone.

Kathleen--I know you had a great dinner with the family. I'm really surprised the cable guy would be coming out on a Sunday. That's a "no no" here.

I just saw some pictures posted of Sonya's home in today's snow. Her DH had a plow mounted on a truck and was plowing the road in front of the house. It looked deep.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MOTHER'S DAY)

I posted Thursday just before leaving for our bayhouse. I watched QVC off and on during the weekend, had no desire to purchase any of it, although there were many nice pieces of jewelry; but with my lifestyle, I really don't wear things like that. My only unplanned purchase was a new refrigerator. The 18 year old unit at the bay finally conked out on us, so an immediate, basics fridge purchase was made. The rest of my free time was picking dewberries for free out in the nearby fields. Took several pints of them to my mother on our return trip. I plan to make a cobbler with the pints I took for myself, tomorrow.

I see the upcoming TSV for tomorrow, Isaac's tunic, but I have no desire for it either. I don't do short sleeves any longer.

I do leave QVC on the TV nonstop because it keeps my mother-in-law from taking control of the television in the family room. If it were up to her, she would watch old westerns morning, noon, and night, which is fine; I just prefer that she do that in her own room, which she does.
