SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MAY 7)

Good morning, shopping friends.  It is May but we had snow in the higher elevations of our state, something that is very rare at this time of the year. I have the heat on right now and we are expecting another night of freezing temps.

I survived the so-called fashion days without a purchase. I really didn't need anything. With the purchases for the house plus the Halston purchases made from the clearance selection, I just couldn't justify  more purchases at this time.

I decided to try out one of those Omaha Steaks offers in which they tempt you with a fabulous reduced price on a combo of your choice. I was very surprised with how good it tasted, the shipping, etc.

My laptop is one year old so I don't need the TSV. I saw a Worx gadget presented the other day that looked as if it might be helpful around the house. I saved the item number to check out later. I just read the reviews on Amazon. Money saved!!!

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MAY 7)

Good Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Jean.  Such cold weather in May is very yucky in my opinion.  Of course, I'm not a fan of cold weather at any time.  I took a walk this morning, and it was only in the 40's with lots of clouds and light rain by the end of the walk.  At least I got in some steps.  No Q fashion purchases for me either, but like you, I didn't need anything new in the clothes and shoes department.  Also, I have made a couple of purchases at the stores here.  Forgot to mention that the IM ankle pants are not ankle pants on me.  I buy the regular length, which is like a regular pant length on me.  I know that would not work for someone like Bernie who is tall.

I didn't sleep well last night, but I really enjoyed the movie they rented -- "Hidden Figures".  Amazing women, especially for their time.

Nice graphic meallen.

Waves to all of our posters and readers, and have a nice day!

Hugs,

Linda

Linda--Happy that you are enjoying your visit, and it was good that you could get in a walk today despite the nippy weather. Sorry you didn't sleep well. I had planned to see "Hidden Figures" when in the theater but didn't make it.

My job for tomorrow was just cancelled. Ho hum! It is so hard to make plans. If I had known that, I would have made my appointment in the city for tomorrow instead of Tuesday.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MAY 7)

It's been breezy this weekend and for once I didn't mind the wind.  We had so much rain and I didn't cut the grass last weekend because of rain so I was hoping to be able to get to it this weekend.

My sister and I went to see the movie The Circle this morning.

"Mae Holland (Emma Watson) seizes the opportunity of a lifetime when she lands a job with the world's most powerful technology and social media company. Encouraged by the company's founder (Tom Hanks), Mae joins a groundbreaking experiment that pushes the boundaries of privacy, ethics and personal freedom. Her participation in the experiment, and every decision she makes soon starts to affect the lives and futures of her friends, family and that of humanity"

When I saw the coming attractions for this movie, I was really excited to see it.  For me, this was a movie that had promise and then fizzled out :-)

I bundled up and cut the front yard grass once I got home from the show.  I'm thawing out and will be doing the back yard grass.

My home looks loved again - that grass was growing like crazy with all the rain.

Bernie--Sorry the movie was a bomb. I hadn't paid much attention to it but according to Rotten Tomatoes, I think it had a 16% rating. I also think they agreed with you despite the topic and actors.

I finished a novel this afternoon, and then downloaded some more from Kindle Unlimited to read this week. Right now, I'm indulging in some Netflix.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MAY 7)

Jean, I haven't seen more than 10 minutes of QVC since we left home.  Other than a few things at Paula Deene's store a couple of days ago, I have bought nothing.  I need souvenirs like I need another hole in my head.  My DH did have some fun shopping at  Cooter's store in Pigeon Forge.  Too bad that you have a change in your school plans.

Yesterday turned out to be a nice day after all.  Near 60 & sunny.  Today is also sunny & mid 50's, but a bit windy.  I am loving the cooler temps.

We are in Shipshewana, IN for tonight & tomorrow night.  I hope to find some SF chocolate chips at the Amish grocery store tomorrow.  Then we are going to have a nice Amish lunch.

I haven't washed clothes since we left home, so I will be busy real soon.

Linda L. I hope that you have a great flight back home.  It sounds like you had a fun time with your family.

Bird Mama, I am also enjoying these breezy cool days also.  Summer will be here all too soon.

Hugs to all of you.
