Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MAY 13) -- Happy Mother's Day!

Marijane, DH fries everything. I tried tocook the fish we brought back from San Diego and finally threw it out. I'm not a cook. It wasnt bad but too much trial and error was discouraging.

Work was over on Tuesday and I'm soooooo happy.

It's another beautiful day here. Really resisted AC but its too hot at some point in the day. No big plans.

I am eager for the ski area to open back up. It will start again in June; Kyanne and I will ride the gondola tho the mountain aand hike around the trails. The viewof Rainier is spectacular up there.

Kathleen--The summer sounds like a great time to visit the Seattle area. It was unfortunate that we were locked into the time we came because of the ticket exchange when Puerto Rico was not possible. I do hope you enjoy your time free of work responsibilities.

@OKPrincess  I'm very sorry that you had to go through what you did when a loved one.  I don't know that this is even remotely the same.  My brother in law's brother (I still considered him family) did have a couple of serious health issues that landed him on heavy duty RX pain medication, which he became addicted to.  I say this with no judgement - I don't know how he functioned and I certainly would have never driven in a car with him if he had been the driver.  What was so very sad at the end of his cancer battle was that it became difficult to find pain relief for him that he hadn't built a tolerance for.

Addiction is horrible especially for families. The person I’m referring to is my sister’s 34 yr old nephew. Long story. Another thread one day. My personal experience is my own daughter. Long story. Another thread. I pray for all of us affected by addiction and addictive loved ones. It’s everywhere. Thank you @Bird mama for sharing your story.

I've had my eye on this Bob Mackie jacket (on and off) for a couple of years.  Just saw it's on clearance, so I ordered it in the denim option.  If I'm going for embroidery, I'm going to get it from the Godfather of all Embroidery - Bob Mackie Woman LOL

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

Bernie--I reallly like that jacket. Mackie's embroidery can be done so well. I had a crop pant and jacket set from  him which had the greatest embroidery. It was a TSV years ago with it selling out in some sizes at Midnight. It was a great outffit. Off to check out the jacket.

The lawn guy came, so t hat is out of the way. I changed the HVAC filter while thinking off it, and also email the primary doc for a late June appointment. He has to wait his turn as the specialists come first right now. Speaking of which, I just paid the pathologist for reading the latest bladder cancer checkup.

Bernie--There certainly are some good items on clearance. So far, these appeal to me:

The fact that they are on clearance is not sufficient to motivate me to buy at this time, but I am thinking.

@OKPrincess i agree, addiction is terrible and destroys many many families. A lot of addicts just dont make it, even when they get help.

Bernie, that jacket is stunning!
